Also proud of the level of attendance from the residents and the overall success of the event was our President & CEO Wayne McKenzie, who had this to say: “Oral health is a crucial part of general health and quality of life. As such, we commit our time and resources to ensure that residents receive the opportunity to access these muchneeded services at no cost to them. We at JEP understand that dental services can be costly for residents and are, therefore, honoured to be able to alleviate the financial burden and expose them to as many services as possible.

JEP DONATES OVER

J$200,000

TO SUSTAIN THE MONTEGO BAY MARINE PARK

The Montego Bay Marine Park is one of the many Nongovernment Organizations that works assiduously in protecting the environment, particularly marine life. This second city, however, faces several challenges due to the improper garbage disposal which results in various forms of waste being emitted into the Caribbean Sea from gullies in the surrounding communities. Also, a threat is the unrelenting fishermen, who use incorrect fishing techniques which threatens the sustainability of our ecosystem. Jamaica Energy Partners disburses quarterly sponsorship to assist with awareness campaigns as well as to provide fuel for boat patrols within the designated fish sanctuary. President and CEO, Wayne McKenzie presented the final cheque of the year which valued just over J$200,000.00.

Operations & Maintenance

WEST KINGSTON POWER PARTNERS LAUNCHES FUEL OIL TREATMENT TRIAL PROGRAM that hopes to have its initial component testing in December 2017, and full implementation of the project by January 2018. The project consists of two main components: a fuel mill used for mechanically grinding the processed fuel for use in the diesel engines, and a dosing pump for injecting the chemicals “Amergy 7800i” and “Amergize” (a combustion catalyst and deposit modifier respectively) into the fuel oil flow. Although the suppliers of the treatment system have claimed numerous benefits and guarantee fuel savings of over 2% HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil), the management team of Jamaica Energy Partners and West Kingston Power Partners have decided to use WKPP as the flagship to test these claims along with the performance/effectiveness of the system. In addition to fuel savings, the benefits claimed by the suppliers of the system are: •

Improved efficiency of combustion

Improved engine heat rates

Improved atomization of fuel

Reduced maintenance costs due to reduced wear of engine components.

Reduce effects of dirty or unstable fuel (if received).

Reduce NOx emissions (environmental benefits)

Should the system operate as depicted by its suppliers (who will provide support and monitoring throughout the trial period), savings are projected to be in the region of approximately $400K USD per year. As with all projects, the management With fuel oil costs being our largest expense in
