he Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Board of Trustees extends its heartfelt gratitude to Jim Rohr for his nearly 20 years of dynamic leadership, support and friendship.
Jim Rohr is an unsung hero of the arts, generously giving of his time and personal funds to make the Cultural District, its theaters and resident companies, thrive. Jim is always there when you need him — asking the right questions, giving good advice and pushing the Trust to think in new, creative ways. Breaking ground for the Theater Square complex in 2001.
“Ken Melani’s commitment to the Trust and our region is invaluable as we forge ahead with the ongoing development of the Cultural District. Ken’s leadership will make a positive and lasting impact.”
Among his many contributions, Jim inspired the Cultural District community to work harder and smarter through the creation of Shared Services, resulting in a vibrant downtown arts and entertainment destination. In short, Jim Rohr not only gets the job done, he gets it done right. The Trust is fortunate and grateful to have a champion in Jim Rohr.

“The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique non-profit organization that truly understands and effectively supports the ‘for-profit’ real estate development process. By serving as a catalyst for private ‘for-profit’ developers, the Trust’s long-term vision, sustained planning and targeted investments in the Cultural District have played a direct role in our decision to make significant investments in the District. Q&A
“ In 2000, I just moved to New York from Vienna. Wood Street seemed to be a truly contemporary place, dedicated to emerging art forms, and in particular to work in new media. In my opinion, Wood Street is unique within the United States. To my knowledge there is no comparable place with such a comprehensive track record, showing each and every important work in New Media, outside of Europe or Asia. The program is simply outstanding.”

“Volunteering for The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has been an amazing experience. I’m addicted to the variety of programming in the Cultural District and I get to enjoy a lot of great entertainment in return for my services. Since my wife died four years ago, volunteering with the Trust has been my salvation and I’m going to keep volunteering as long as I’m standing.” Sam Bass Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Volunteer for 19 years
