PEOPLE come together. DSI has been quietly building some of Chicagoland’s most compelling projects for over two decades. From its humble beginnings as a two-person company in a couple of rented cubes, DSI has grown to over 60 employees and $80 million in revenue, all thanks to one thing—our outstanding people.
We’re more than just general contractors.
We’re team builders. DSI has always been committed to building quality construction projects, meeting deadlines, and over-delivering on promises. Our commitment to teamwork, both with the people we work with and the people we work for, is what makes us different.

Most General Contractors start with a concrete foundation.
DSI starts with our people. That’s because teamwork is our foundation. Our teams have expertise in the following project types: • Interiors: office, healthcare, retail, industrial, higher education and hospitality • New construction: shopping centers, multi-story office buildings, banks, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and medical office buildings • Renovations: large-scale office buildings, parking garages, MEP systems upgrades, main building lobbies and adaptive re-use applications

ership. It’s our team—not just the plans and processes behind them—that makes all the difference. We believe we’ve built the best team in the industry: exceptionally smart, driven, energetic, client-focused and dare we say…a pleasure to work with. The result? The most loyal employees and clients in the business.
DSI is proud to call Chicago home. We’re also proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish over the past 25 years. Only a truly special group of people can take a two-person startup to a growing company with over $80 million in revenue. Here’s how a typical DSI team is structured:
Principal/Project Executive The project executive brings senior leadership, strategic direction, and direct supervision to your project. They are ultimately responsible for ensuring our project team delivers on our promises and commitment to each client.
Senior Project Manager/Project Manager The project manager brings executive leadership to your specific project. They are responsible for managing the entire construction project from start to finish with open communication, competitive pricing, and expert administration of the subcontractors and material procurement process.
General Superintendent The general superintendent brings senior leadership and oversight to the organization’s field operations. He works closely with each project superintendent, and our project managers, to ensure that all clients experience a high quality project that is delivered safely and on time.
Project Superintendent The project superintendent brings expert field leadership to your project. They are located on site and responsible for managing field operations through effective scheduling, safety enforcement, and management of the labor and materials of the project.
Assistant Project Manager The assistant project manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the project documentation and administration coordination between all team members.
Project Accountant The project accountant is responsible for administering the project’s payables and receivables. This includes vetting our subcontractor’s sworn statements, material suppliers and ensuring all project billings are flawless.
DSI has a team of five principals: Craig Manske • Co-founder, Managing Principal
With over 35 years of real estate development, investment and construction experience, Craig does everything from nurturing customer relationships to hammering out fine details of in-depth contracts. For him, the best part about being on the DSI team is the group’s passion and commitment. He says the best part is getting to work with good people – plus the satisfaction that comes with hearing from a happy customer. In his free time, Craig loves to hunt, fish, bike and ski, and is proud to be a part of the Chicago team for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Daniel Mazeiro • Co-founder, Managing Principal
Daniel has an expert understanding of all the technical positions within the DSI team—because he’s worked all of them. Daniel manages the Project Management and Field Operations for DSI, and is often referred to as “the glue.” Ask him about starting his own architectural design practice, earning a master’s degree at Harvard—or his experience in endurance car racing - and you’ll find out why he believes trust and talent are the most important components of a successful team.
Martin Moran • Principal, Project Executive
Setting an example for his team is important to Marty, so he’s conscious of “walking the talk” while overseeing the Project Managers and APMs and supervising the everyday operations of project teams. Marty worked from the bottom-up at DSI, so while he takes his work seriously, he tries not to take himself too seriously. A father of 2 athletic kids, Marty enjoys traveling, skiing, fishing, photography and music in between coaching youth sports and attending his kids’ games and matches.
Michael Nolan • Principal, Project Executive
Having joined the leadership team at DSI in 1995, Michael has been involved with DSI’s most significant healthcare construction clients and has experience with wide variety of project types throughout his career. With a background in the visual arts and coming to DSI from the millwork industry, Michael’s attention to detail and client centered approach enable him to provide strategic solutions tailored to the clients point of view. As a passionate photographer and woodworker (who still has all his fingers) he can rarely be seen without his camera or a coffee mug that resembles one.
Jacob Karamol • Principal, Director of Business Development
With a rich background in commercial real estate development and design-build construction, Jake manages sales and marketing. This father of 3 girls and former Marine knows better than most what it means—and what it takes—to make a good team: the hard work, the ups and downs, and most importantly, the unity. When he’s not strategizing, creating awareness or growing relationships for DSI, you can find him playing volleyball, fly fishing, golfing, or even snowboarding.
