Trials of the Freestyle Libre The Libre is a sensor that can be scanned to test blood sugars. The Libre is unfortunately not covered by NIHB, but if you have private insurance it may be. Our Program is able to provide free, 2-week trials of the Libre system until December. Even if you only use it for 2 weeks it provides really helpful info on how food, exercise, stress, medications, etc affect blood sugars. We ask for a commitment of 3 short appointments over the 2 week trial.
Cooking Classes Family Cooking Sessions 2-4 PM on Wednesdays Standoff: November 6, 13, 20 Levern: Nov 27, Dec 4, Dec 11 Grandmas, teens, uncles, preschoolers, parents‌ bring any combo of family members! Help your kids learn healthy eating habits & get involved in the kitchen. We can provide transportation.
Make Ahead Lunches & Meal Planning classes are being offered as part of the Fall Wellness Challenge in October/November. All cooking classes are free to attend, but you must pre-register! Call 737-3933 or text 403-593-9428. We need a minimum for classes.
New Pedometer Challenge:
Southern Alberta Walking Challenge Track your steps and walk around southern Alberta. Answer questions about Blackfoot history for each section you walk.
Wellness/Body Transformation Challenge: Body composition scans will be done at the beginning and the end of the 12 week challenge. A calendar full of activities and presentations will be provided to help keep you motivated! Donation to the Food Bank ($10 of food or Kainai Marketplace gift card) to register. Registration closes October 11th.
