Haben Sie sich jemals gefragt, wie es ist, in luftigen Höhen von 7500 m zu arbeiten? Wir haben einen Ausflug hinter die Kulissen von SkyAlps gemacht und mit der Boznerin Bruna Mück, Head of Cabin Crew & In-fligt Services mit langjähriger Erfahrung, gesprochen.

Vi siete mai domandati com’è lavorare a 7500 m di altitudine? Abbiamo fatto un “volo” dietro le quinte di SkyAlps e scambiato quattro chiacchiere con la bolzanina Bruna Mück, Head of Cabin Crew & In-flight Services con diversi anni di esperienza nel settore.

Have you ever wondered what it's like working at nearly 7,500 metres of altitude? We took a "flight" behind the scenes of SkyAlps and had a chat with Bruna Mück, Head of Cabin Crew & In-flight Services with several years of experience, from Bolzano.

Frau Mück, was hat Sie zu einer Karriere in der Luftfahrt bewogen?

Die Leidenschaft für das Reisen, die mich schon seit jungen Jahren begleitet. Im Laufe der Zeit spornte mich mein Ehrgeiz dazu an, beruflich zu wachsen, und so übernahm ich Aufgaben mit immer größerer Verantwortung.

Was zählt derzeit zu Ihrem Aufgabenbereich?

Neben der Flugbegleitung, die ich nun weniger oft durchführe, kümmere ich mich um viele andere Angelegenheiten wie um die Besatzung in der Kabine und die Organisation und Überwachung der Serviceleistungen an Bord. Seit SkyAlps das Air Operator Certificate erhalten hat, bilde ich auch zukünftige Flugbegleiter für die Erlangung des CCA (Cabin Crew Attestation) aus.

Was muss ein Flugbegleiter können? Man wird darauf vorbereitet, vor allem die Sicherheit in der Kabine zu garantieren und auf Unvorhergesehenes zu reagieren. Dazu zählen etwa gesundheitliche Notfälle, ein Brand oder eine Notlandung. Natürlich gehört auch ein erstklassiger Service dazu, vor allem bei SkyAlps. Mit viel Aufmerksamkeit möchten wir die Reise in ein angenehmes Erlebnis verwandeln.

Welche Fähigkeiten werden hierfür benötigt?

Ausgewogenheit (in jeder Hinsicht!), Einfühlungsvermögen und Feingefühl: Es kommt darauf an, aufmerksam zu sein, ohne die Privatsphäre der Passagiere zu stören. Man muss ein Gefühl dafür haben, wer in Ruhe den Flug genießen und wer unterhalten werden möchte, zum Beispiel indem man mehr über SkyAlps und die angebotenen Südtiroler Produkte erzählt.

Was unterscheidet SkyAlps von anderen Fluggesellschaften?

Sicherlich die Kurz- und Mittelstreckenflüge mit Rückkehr nach Bozen, die es ermöglichen, Arbeit und Privatleben besser zu vereinen und dennoch von Zeit zu Zeit eine Nacht außerhalb Südtirols zu verbringen. Aber vor allem auch die ausgezeichnete Qualität der Serviceleistungen, sowohl an Bord als auch am Boden.

Wie fühlt sich ein Arbeitstag in der Luft an?

Im Allgemeinen liebe ich das Gefühl, für ein paar Stunden über den Wolken zu schweben – ob als Stewardess oder Passagierin. Start und Landung begeistern mich besonders, vor allem vom Cockpit aus. Es erfüllt mich sehr, die Serviceleistungen, die wir geplant haben, an Bord umzusetzen und die Zufriedenheit der Passagiere zu sehen.

Dahin soll Sie SkyAlps bringen … … überallhin! Reisen erweitert den Horizont.

Signora Mück, cosa La ha portata a intraprendere una carriera nell’aviazione?

La passione per i viaggi, che nutro sin da giovanissima. Inoltre, negli anni l’ambizione mi ha incentivata a crescere professionalmente e, dunque, a ricoprire ruoli di sempre maggiore responsabilità.

Quali sono le Sue mansioni ora?

Oltre all’attività di volo, che svolgo con minor frequenza, mi occupo di molti altri aspetti, come selezionare e formare l’equipaggio di cabina nonché organizzare e supervisionare i servizi di bordo. Da quando SkyAlps ha ottenuto il Certificato di Operatore Aereo, addestro anche futuri assistenti di volo per il conseguimento del CCA (Cabin Crew Attestation).

Cosa deve saper fare un assistente di volo?

In primo luogo, si viene preparati per garantire la sicurezza in cabina e gestire le emergenze, dal malore di un passeggero a un incendio fino a un atterraggio di fortuna, ma anche tanto altro. Dopodiché, è fondamentale un servizio di alto livello, soprattutto per SkyAlps che mira, con estrema cordialità e attenzione al cliente, a rendere il viaggio una piacevole esperienza.

Quali doti occorrono?

Ci vogliono equilibrio (in tutti i sensi!), versatilità e sensibilità: porgere le giuste attenzioni senza invadere lo spazio del passeggero, intuire chi preferisce godersi il volo in tranquillità e chi, invece, ha il piacere di intrattenersi, magari per saperne di più su SkyAlps o sui prodotti altoatesini che offriamo.

Cosa distingue SkyAlps da altre compagnie aeree?

Sicuramente, le rotte a corto-medio raggio con rientro alla base, che permettono di coniugare meglio questo lavoro alla vita privata, pur con la possibilità di pernottare fuori di tanto in tanto. Ma, soprattutto, l’elevata qualità del servizio su tutti i fronti, on board e a terra.

Cosa si prova a trascorrere una giornata lavorativa in volo?

In generale, adoro la sensazione di stare tra le nuvole per qualche ora – sia lavorando che da passeggera – e mi entusiasmano le fasi di decollo e atterraggio, soprattutto dalla cabina di pilotaggio. Mi dà poi grande soddisfazione mettere in pratica il servizio di bordo che abbiamo realizzato e notare la soddisfazione dei passeggeri che lo ricevono.

Tra le mete SkyAlps vorrebbe andare… …ovunque! Viaggiare apre la mente e nuovi orizzonti.

Ms. Mück, what led you to pursue a career in aviation?

My passion for travel, which I have nurtured since I was little. Over the years, my ambition has encouraged me to grow pro-

fessionally and to cover roles of greater responsibility.

What are your duties now?

In addition to flight activity, which I carry out less frequently, I deal with many other aspects, such as selecting and training the cabin crew as well as organizing and supervising on-board services. Since SkyAlps obtained the Air Operation Certificate (AOC), I also train future flight attendants for the achievement of the CCA (Cabin Crew Attestation).

What should a flight attendant be able to do?

First, you should be prepared to ensure cabin safety and handle emergencies, from passenger illness to a fire to an emergency landing, and so much more. In addition, impeccable service is essential, especially for SkyAlps, aiming for outstanding cordiality and attention to the passenger, to make every trip a pleasant experience.

What skills do you need?

It takes balance (in every sense of the word!), versatility and sensitivity: offering just the right amount of attention without invading the passenger's space. We need

to sense who prefers to enjoy their flight in peace and who likes to be informed, perhaps to find out more about SkyAlps or on the South Tyrolean products we offer.

What distinguishes SkyAlps from other airlines?

Definitely, the short-medium haul routes with a return to the base, which make it possible to combine this job with private life, even with the possibility of spending a night away from time to time. Above all, what sets us apart is the high quality of service on all fronts, on board and ashore.

What is it like to spend a working day flying?

In general, I love the feeling of being in the clouds for a few hours – both working and as a passenger – and I enjoy the take-off and landing phases, especially from the cockpit. It also gives me great satisfaction to put our on-board service into practice and to notice the satisfaction of our passengers.

Dieser Stellenwert ist unter anderem ganz besonderen Persönlichkeiten zu verdanken, die durch ihren Einsatz in den 70er und 80er Jahren einen neuen Kurs in Richtung Qualität einschlugen. Begeben Sie sich mit uns auf eine kleine Weinreise und machen Sie die Bekanntschaft mit acht dieser außergewöhnlichen Pioniere.

Oggi, l’Alto Adige è internazionalmente noto per i suoi vini di prestigio. Il merito è da attribuire in particolare ad alcune personalità che negli anni ‘70 e ‘80 si impegnarono per alzare il livello qualitativo. Lasciatevi condurre in un viaggio tra i vigneti del territorio e fate la conoscenza di otto di questi straordinari pionieri che hanno scritto la storia dell’enologia locale.

This reputation can in part be attributed to a few very special people who, through their efforts in the 1970s and 1980s, set a new course towards higher quality. Sulle tracce di vini d’eccellenza On the trail of

Südtirol Wein/Manuel Ferrigato

Gleich zu Beginn geht es hoch hinauf. Besser gesagt in die höchstgelegene Sektkellerei Europas. Auf 1200 m in der Gemeinde Mölten weiß der Südtiroler Sektpionier Josef Reiterer nach jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung ganz genau, dass ohne Geduld und Zeit kein perlender Genuss entsteht. Bis zu acht Jahre reifen die Sekte – gewonnen aus Weinsorten wie Blauburgunder, Chardonnay oder Weißburgunder – in der Flasche. Rund 400.000 Flaschen lagern bei optimalen Bedingungen in der Sektkellerei Arunda, bis sie für prickelnde Augenblicke im Glas bereit sind. Ein wahrer Schatz.

Einen Schatz hütet auch Graziano Filippi. In seinem Falle ist es der St. Magdalener. Dieser Wein steht in enger Verbindung mit dem Raum Bozen und wird aus der roten autochthonen Rebsorte Vernatsch gewonnen. Hier auf den Hügeln im Nordosten der Stadt findet die Sorte ihre beste Entfaltung für einen kräftigen Rotwein. Weit über 30 Jahre war Graziano Filippi in der Kellerei St. Magdalena als Kellermeister tätig und setzte wichtige Weichen für eine Produktion bester Qualität. Wir bleiben in der Landeshauptstadt und begegnen Toni Rottensteiner. Er weiß, was es heißt, 65 Ernten miterlebt zu haben. Rund 24 verschiedene Weißund Rotweine werden heute im Weingut Rottensteiner eingekeltert, darunter auch die autochthone und für den Raum Bozen typische Sorte Lagrein. Im Eichenfass ausgebaut, entfaltet dieser elegante Wein einen vollmundigen Korpus. Aus dieser Rebsorte entstehen auch Roséweine – auch als Lagrein Kretzer bezeichnet –, die besonders im Sommer durch ihre fruchtig-frische Art als herrliche Aperitifweine gelten.

Wir setzen unsere Reise fort und kehren gleich am Stadtrand im Erbhof Unterganzner in Kardaun ein. Beeindruckt erfahren wir, dass hier seit 1629 Wein

angebaut wird. Heute lebt die elfte Generation am Hof und führt die lange Tradition des Weinbaus fort. Josephus Mayr ist es gelungen, diese Tradition mit Innovation zu verbinden, und hat sich einen kleinen Lebenstraum erfüllt:

Unter seinem Weinberg entstand aus einem Stollen ein beeindruckender Felsenkeller, in dem er seine Weine hütet. Aber nicht nur Wein gedeiht auf diesen fruchtbaren Böden. Feigen, Nüsse, Kastanien und sogar Oliven werden hier geerntet.

Wir verlassen den Raum Bozen und bewegen uns Richtung Süden. Etwa

10 km von der Landeshauptstadt entfernt erreichen wir das Weindorf Girlan. Hier empfängt uns Hartmuth Spitaler, dem die Liebe zum Wein in die Wiege gelegt wurde. Schon sein Vater war Kellermeister in der Kellerei Girlan und auch Hartmuth übte diesen Beruf 30 Jahre lang aus. Sein Steckenpferd war eine ganz besondere Rebsorte: Der Vernatsch. Er hat es sich zur Lebensaufgabe gemacht, diese Rebe als Kulturgut zu erhalten. Sollten Sie ein typisches Südtiroler „Marendebrettl“ (Snack) mit Speck und Käse verkosten, dann darf ein Glas Vernatsch dazu nicht fehlen.

Südtirol Wein/Tobias Kaser

Gar nicht weit entfernt begegnen wir einem weiteren Pionier: Luis Raifer. Lange begleitete er die Kellerei Schreckbichl als Obmann und Geschäftsführer. Er war ein entscheidender Impulsgeber für den Wandel, den Südtirols Weinwelt in den 80er Jahren in Sachen Qualität anstrebte. Sein Einsatz trug wesentlich dazu bei, dass dieser Wandel vom Massen- zum Spitzenweinanbaugebiet erfolgreich umgesetzt und die Gunst der Naturvielfalt gekonnt genutzt wurde.

Nach einer kurzen Fahrt entlang der Südtiroler Weinstraße, die uns mit einem beeindruckenden Panorama über Weinberge, dem Kalterer See und herrlichen Bergspitzen begeistert, erreichen wir die Gemeinde Tramin. Dass es in den 80er Jahren am Image Südtirols zu arbeiten galt, wusste damals auch Paolo Foradori vom Weingut Hofstätter in Tramin. Der vor einigen Jahren verstorbene Pionier setzte sich mit viel Leidenschaft für Sorten wie den Blauburgunder oder den Gewürztraminer ein. Letzterer findet hier den Ursprung für seinen Namen. Unverkennbar besticht dieser Wein durch seine Aromatik.

Von Tramin gelangen wir weiter über die Südtiroler Weinstraße in das kleine Dorf Margreid. Alois Lageder ist ein Name, der weit über die Grenzen des Landes bekannt ist. Sein Anspruch auf einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz in der Landwirtschaft durch die biodynamische Anbauweise im Einklang mit der Natur hat sich bewährt. Mit Weitblick arbeitet das Familienunternehmen auch in Hinsicht auf die Klimaveränderung und geht unter anderem mit traditionellen Rebsorten in die Höhe, um mit Experimenten neue Erfahrungswerte für die Zukunft zu sammeln. So vielseitig wie die Geschichten dieser Menschen sind, ist auch die Vielfalt des Weinlandes Südtirol. Vom mediter-

ran-alpinen Klima geprägt, überzeugt diese Gegend durch eine erstklassige Sortenvielfalt, die die Besonderheiten dieses Landes und ihrer Menschen widerspiegelt.

Per cominciare, saliamo ai 1200 m s.l.m di Meltina, dove si trova la cantina di spumanti più alta d’Europa fondata da Josef Reiterer, precursore delle bollicine altoatesine. A tale quota, infatti, la lenta fermentazione in bottiglia crea un perlage finissimo. Il segreto risiede anche in un’armoniosa composizione del cuveé da vini base come Chardonnay e Pinot bianco e nero. Ma, soprattutto, ci vuole pazienza: lo spumante matura nelle 400.000 bottiglie conservate nella Cantina Arunda fino a otto anni, raggiungendo la sua massima espressione e diventando una vera “perla”.

Anche Graziano Filippi contribuì a creare un tesoro enologico: il Santa Maddalena, un rosso robusto ricavato dal vitigno autoctono Schiava e legato in maniera particolare all’area di Bolzano. La produzione di questo vino, infatti, è limitata alle colline a nord-ovest del centro storico, dove tali uve sviluppano particolari proprietà organolettiche. Per oltre trentacinque anni, Graziano Filippi lavorò come mastro cantiniere presso

la Cantina Santa Maddalena, definendo elevati standard di qualità.

Rimanendo nel capoluogo di provincia, vi presentiamo anche un viticoltore con ben sessantacinque vendemmie alle spalle: Toni Rottensteiner. Nella tenuta di famiglia, oggi si producono nientemeno che ventiquattro vini diversi tra bianchi e rossi, puntando specialmente sul Lagrein, la varietà tipica della zona. Questo rosso, invecchiato in botti di rovere, sviluppa un corpo pieno dalle note eleganti. Dalle stesse uve si può ottenere anche un rosé – chiamato localmente Lagrein Kretzer –, che, grazie alle note fresche e fruttate, è perfetto per gli aperitivi d’estate.

La prossima tappa del viaggio è appena fuori dalla città, presso il maso avito Unterganzner a Cardano, che produce vino dal 1629, ovvero da quasi quattrocento anni! Ormai è l’undicesima generazione a portare avanti la passione per il “nettare degli dèi”. Josephus Mayr, nei lunghi anni a capo dell’azienda, è riuscito a unire sapientemente tradizione e innovazione nonché a coronare un grande sogno: costruire una suggestiva cantina nella roccia dentro un antico tunnel presente sotto uno dei suoi vigneti. Nei fertili terreni del maso, comunque, non crescono solo uve, bensì anche fichi, noci, castagne e persino olive.

Dirigendoci ora a sud di Bolzano, ad appena 10 km troviamo Cornaiano, dove conosciamo Hartmuth Spitaler. Lui crebbe letteralmente nel mondo del vino, visto che già suo padre fu mastro cantiniere presso la Cantina Girlan, percorso professionale continuato poi anche da Hartmuth stesso per altri trent’anni. In questo lasso di tempo, si concentrò in particolare su un vitigno radicato nella storia vinicola altoatesina, la Schiava, preservandolo come un vero tesoro culturale e migliorandolo costantemente. Doveste assaporare una tipica merenda sudtirolese a base di speck e formaggio, un calice di questo vino rosso non può certo mancare. Senza andare lontano, incontriamo un’altra forza trainante dell’evoluzione di prestigio dei vini dell’Alto Adige avviata negli

anni Ottanta: Luis Raifer. Per decenni a capo della Cantina Colterenzio, apportò un contributo decisivo per trasformare la viticoltura di massa in una di eccellenza, votata alla qualità piuttosto che alla quantità nonché alla esaltazione della varietà climatica regionale.

Proseguendo sulla Strada del vino, che incanta con una bellissima visuale su vigneti, sul Lago di Caldaro e su imponenti cime, raggiungiamo il comune di Termeno. Qui ha sede la cantina Hofstätter, un tempo regno di Paolo Foradori, scomparso qualche anno fa. Anch’egli aveva intuito il potenziale dell’Alto Adige in tema di enologia e investì il tal senso con grande lungimiranza. A lui si deve la valorizzazione di vini come il Pinot nero e il Gewürztraminer. Il nome di quest’ultimo, un bianco davvero aromatico, deriva proprio dal paese Termeno, Tramin in tedesco.

A breve distanza da qui, sempre sulla Strada del vino, sorge il paesino di Magrè, patria di Alois Lageder, un nome che ormai è noto ben oltre i confini nazionali.

Il suo pionieristico approccio biodinamico all’agricoltura, in totale simbiosi con la natura, ha dato ottimi risultati. Con la sagacia e lo spirito di chi guarda sempre

avanti, in vista del cambiamento climatico sta sperimentando nell’azienda di famiglia una coltivazione di viti tradizionali a quote maggiori, per poi affrontare le sfide future sulla base dell’esperienza maturata.

Altrettanto variegato come la storia di questi diversi personaggi è anche il panorama enologico altoatesino. Grazie al clima alpino-mediterraneo, il territorio presenta un’eccezionale pluralità di vitigni e stili, che rispecchia le peculiarità della regione stessa e dei suoi abitanti.

At an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea level in the municipality of Meltina, Josef Reiterer, the South Tyrolean sparkling wine pioneer, can look back at decades of experience and knows very well that without patience and time, no sparkling pleasure can be produced. The sparkling wines – which are made from grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay

or Pinot Blanc - mature in the bottle for up to eight years. At Arunda's sparkling wine cellar, some 400,000 bottles are stored under perfect conditions until they are ready for those tingling moments in your glass. A genuine treasure. Graziano Filippi is also guarding a treasure. In his case it is the Santa Maddalena. This wine is closely linked to the area of Bolzano and is made from the red autochthonous grape variety called Schiava (Vernatsch). It is here, on the hills to the north-east of the city, that the variety finds its best development for a strong red wine. Graziano Filippi worked as cellar master at the St. Magdalena winery for well over 30 years and paved the way for the production of top quality wines. We remain in the provincial capital and meet Toni Rottensteiner. Having experienced 65 harvests, he understands exactly what it means to be a winegrower. Rottensteiner produces around 24 different white and red wines, including the autochthonous Lagrein variety, which is

typical of the Bolzano region. Aged in oak barrels, this elegant wine develops a full-bodied character. This grape variety is also used to produce rosé wines - also known as Lagrein Kretzer - which are especially popular in summer as delightful aperitif wines due to their fruity-fresh character.

We continue our journey and stop at the Erbhof Unterganzner in Cardano on the outskirts of Bolzano. We were impressed to learn that they have been growing wine here since 1629. Nowadays, the eleventh generation lives on the farm and continues the long tradition of winegrowing. Josephus Mayr has succeeded in combining tradition with innovation and thus fulfilled a lifelong dream: Below his vineyard, an impressive rock cellar was created from a gallery. This is where he keeps his wines. But it is not only wine that thrives on these fertile soils. Figs, nuts, chestnuts and even olives are harvested here.

As we leave the Bolzano area, we head south. About 10 km from the provincial capital we reach the wine village of Cornaiano. Hartmuth Spitaler, who was born into a love of wine, welcomes us here.

Like his father, who was a cellar master in the winery of Cornaiano, Hartmuth had also been working in this profession for 30 years. His passion was a very special grape variety. The Schiava (Ver-

natsch). He made it his life's mission to preserve this vine as a cultural asset. If you should taste a typical South Tyrolean "Marendebrettl" (snack) with speck and cheese, then a glass of Schiava should never be missing.

Not too far away we meet yet another pioneer: Luis Raifer. For a long time he was the chairman and managing director of the Schreckbichl winery. He was the decisive driving force behind the change that South Tyrol's wine world was striving for in the 1980s in terms of quality. His commitment contributed significantly to the successful implementation of this change from a mass production to a top wine-growing region and to skilfully utilising the favour of natural diversity. Following a short drive along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, which delights us with an awe-inspiring panorama of vineyards, Lake Caldaro and magnificent mountain peaks, we reach the municipality of Termeno. Paolo Foradori from the Hofstätter winery in Termeno also knew at the time that South Tyrol's image needed work in the 1980s. This pioneer, who passed away a few years ago, was considered a "missionary" for varieties such as Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer. The latter gets its name from Tramin, the German name of Termeno. The aromatic qualities of this wine are unmistakably captivating.

From Termeno we continue along the Alto Adige Wine Road to the small village of Magrè. The name Alois Lageder is known far beyond the borders of the country. Their claim to a holistic approach to agriculture through biodynamic cultivation in harmony with nature has proven its value. The family-run business also operates with farsightedness in terms of climate change and, among other things, takes traditional grape varieties to higher altitudes in order to gather new empirical values for the future through conducting experiments.

Alto Adige's wine landscape is as diverse as the stories of these people. Shaped by the Alpine-Mediterranean climate, this region boasts a first-class diversity of varieties that reflect the special characteristics of this area and its people.

A land of wine – through and through

Südtirol ist ein Weinland. Um das zu erkennen, genügt ein Blick aus dem Flugzeugfenster. Er fällt auf Weinberge, deren Ursprünge 2500 Jahre alt sind. Und er fällt auf ein Land, das dem Wein nicht nur landschaftlich viel zu verdanken hat. Schließlich prägen Wein und Weinkultur die Gesellschaft, die Tradition und nicht zuletzt die Geschichte dieses kleinen Landes.

In Sachen Wein beginnt diese vor mehr als 2500 Jahren, als die Räter erstmals versuchen, an den steilen Hängen Trauben anzubauen und zu Wein zu verarbeiten. Dieser ist zunächst Statussymbol und Zeremonialgetränk, erst nach und nach entwickelt er sich zu einem Kulturgut für breitere Schichten. Von den Rätern lernen die Römer und in

deren Fußstapfen tritt im Mittelalter die Kirche. Es sind vor allem süddeutsche Klöster, die die optimalen Gegebenheiten südlich des Brenners nutzen, um Trauben anzubauen und Wein in die Mutterhäuser zu exportieren. Schicht um Schicht baut man Wissen und Erfahrung auf und macht den Wein aus dem südlichen Tirol zu einem begehrten Produkt.

So finden sich Südtiroler Tropfen im 17. Jahrhundert in den Kellern der Habsburger Kaiser und der Könige von Preußen. Südtirol Wein als gefragtes Gut: Daran hat sich seit mehreren hundert Jahren nichts geändert. Alles andere aber schon. Statt mit Ingwer, Rosmarin oder Wermut gewürzte Weine damals und Massenware dazwischen halten sich Weine aus Südtirol seit etwa vierzig

Jahren international in der Spitze, finden sich auf den besten Weinkarten und können sich – trotz des kleinen Herkunftsgebiets – mit globalen Größen messen. Das ist einer Qualitätspolitik zu verdanken, die in Genossenschaftskellereien, Weingütern und von einzelnen Winzern konsequent verfolgt wird und nur ein Erfolgsrezept kennt: die reine Lehre –mit einer nachhaltigen, enkeltauglichen Wirtschaftsweise, geringen Hektarerträgen, einer optimalen Sortenwahl und einem Terroir, das sich im Wein widerspiegelt. So wird neben der Qualität die Vielfalt zum einzigen gemeinsamen Nenner Südtiroler Weine. Und auch diese Vielfalt erkennt man schon beim Blick aus dem Flugzeugfenster.

Una terra vocata al vino

Che l’Alto Adige sia una regione votata alla viticoltura, lo si intuisce già guardando fuori dall’oblò dell’aereo: lo sguardo, infatti, viene catturato da un territorio disegnato da appezzamenti di vigneti. Ma, in quasi tre millenni, la produzione di vino non ha plasmato solo i paesaggi, bensì anche la cultura e la storia locali.

L’origine del vino altoatesino ha radici profonde: risale a oltre 2500 anni fa, quando i Reti provarono a coltivare la vite sui ripidi pendii della zona. Inizialmente, tale bevanda era riservata alle cerimonie e ai ceti alti; solo col tempo divenne un bene culturale comune.

Più tardi arrivarono i Romani, i quali nel Medioevo passarono a loro volta il testimone alla Chiesa. Proprio in quel periodo, infatti, diversi monasteri a sud del Brennero cominciarono a sfruttare al meglio le condizioni ottimali del territorio per produrre vini sempre più pregiati da esportare nella madre patria. Fu così che, nel XVII secolo, nelle cantine degli imperatori d’Asburgo e dei re di Prussia si trovavano specialità dal Sudtirolo.

Da allora, i vini della regione sono beni ricercati, seppure diversi aspetti siano cambiati con gli anni. Agli albori erano tipici i vini aromatizzati allo zenzero, al rosmarino e all’assenzio; poi si è passati alle produzioni di massa. Da circa quarant’anni, infine, si punta esclusivamente all’eccellenza, motivo per cui le etichette altoatesine sono rinomate su scala internazionale e trovano spazio sulle più importanti liste vini al mondo. Questo traguardo è merito di una filosofia votata alla qualità, messa in pratica con impegno dalle cantine sociali, dalle tenute e dai viticoltori indipendenti. Gli ingredienti per il successo: la gestione sostenibile dei terreni, basse rese per ettaro, un’accurata selezione dei vitigni e un terroir davvero particolare. È grazie a questa visione che

a fare da comune denominatore ai vini dell’Alto Adige vi è un’altissima qualità così come una ricca varietà.

E anche per cogliere tali pregi basta uno sguardo dal finestrino.

South Tyrol is a wine country. A glance out of the aeroplane window is enough to realise this. The view falls on vineyards whose origins date back 2,500 years. It is also a country that owes a great deal to wine, and not just in terms of its landscape. After all, wine and wine culture shape the society, the tradition and ultimately the history of this small country.

When it comes to wine, it began more than 2,500 years ago, when the Rhaetians first tried to grow grapes on the steep slopes and turn them into wine. This was initially a status symbol and ceremonial drink, and only gradually did it develop into a cultural asset for the wider classes.

The Romans learned the trade from the Rhaetians – and in the middle ages the Church followed in their footsteps. It was primarily southern German monasteries that took advantage of the optimal conditions south of the Brennero Pass to grow grapes and export wine to the main houses. Layer upon layer of knowledge and experience were built up, turning the wine from the southern part of Tyrol a much sought-after commodity. This is why South Tyrolean wines were found in the cellars of the Habsburg emperors and the kings of Prussia in the 17th century.

South Tyrolean wine is still high in demand: this has not changed for several hundred years. But everything else has. Rather than wines spiced with ginger, rosemary or wormwood, like in the old days, and mass-produced wines in between, wines from South Tyrol have been at the international forefront for about forty years. They can be found

on the best wine lists and – despite the small region of origin – can compete with the global greats.

This is due to a quality policy that is consistently implemented in cooperative wineries, vineyards and by individual winegrowers. It knows only one recipe for success: teaching, pure and simple – with sustainable farming methods that are good for the grandchildren, a small yield per hectare, an optimal choice of varieties and with a terroir that is reflected in the wine. In this way, besides quality, variety becomes the only common denominator of Alto Adige wines.

This diversity can also be seen by simply looking out of the aeroplane window.

Schenna

Ein Blick aus dem Hotelfenster über die gegenüberliegenden Moränenhügel und die Spitzen der Texelgruppe genügt: perfektes Wetter. Also Rucksack gepackt, Schuhe geschnürt und los geht es durch das frühlingshafte Burggrafenamt. Früh am Morgen schlendern wir durch den Ortskern von Schenna, vorbei an Shops für Delikatessen, Kunsthandwerk oder Wein. Während wir weiterspazieren, überlegen wir gemeinsam, ob wir uns am Abend noch irgendwo einen Cocktail in einer der Bars gönnen oder auf ein gemütliches Dinner mit Blick ins Tal gehen. Bald schon sind wir von blühenden Apfelbäumen umge-

ben, die fröhlich in der Sonne sprießen. Schenna: ein schönes und sonniges Fleckchen Erde, denken wir uns noch, als wir schon fast im Tal angekommen sind.

Meran

Wir nähern uns Meran über den Lazagsteig und den Steinernen Steg. Wir erreichen die Passerpromenade und sind schon im pulsierenden Herz der Kurstadt.

Die Cafés locken, ein Cappuccino, das Rauschen der Passer im Hintergrund, frisches Grün vor uns. Wir steigen auf den Tappeinerweg, einzigartig in seiner vielfältigen Vegetation, und staunen nicht nur über die Aussicht auf die Stadt, sondern über uns selbst. Wir sind von neuem verliebt in dieses Städtchen! Was würde uns von dieser Aussicht wegführen? Jede Menge Aktivitäten, die uns die Kurstadt bietet: Wir werden die Gärten von Schloss Trauttmansdorff besuchen, in den Thermen entspannen, uns im Palais Mamming umsehen und

Meraner Kultur und Geschichte in den anderen Museen erfahren.

Algund

Wir leihen uns zwei Mountainbikes aus und setzen unsere Reise auf zwei Rädern fort. Bei der Fahrt durch das malerische Dorfzentrum von Algund erinnern wir uns an unseren letzten Aufenthalt: ein Sommerkonzert mit ganz besonderer Atmosphäre und unser Ausflug mit dem zauberhaften Korblift zur Leiter Alm. Voller Nostalgie bemerken wir den Anstieg gar nicht, der uns an unsere nächste Raststation bringt. Bei den überlebensgroßen hölzernen Liegestühlen, den „Trauttmansdorffer Thronsesseln“, am Aussichtspunkt Hochkreuz können wir im Schatten der grünenden Pergola verschnaufen. Das Gartendorf Algund macht seinem Namen alle Ehre, wirkt es aus dieser Perspektive wie eine grüne Insel zwischen den Bergen. Von März bis Oktober werden Besucher hier mit abwechslungsreichen Veranstaltungen, geführten

Wanderungen und Märkten zum Thema Wein, Pflanzenwelten und vielem mehr überrascht.

Naturns

Weiter folgen wir dem Radweg an der Etsch entlang Richtung Vinschgau und genießen den glatten Asphalt unter den Reifen. Bald sind wir am Ziel unserer Tour angelangt und der Appetit auf ein leckeres Mittagessen in einem der traditionellen Gasthäuser von Naturns wird mit jedem Meter größer. Während wir an Apfelwiesen vorbeisausen und in Gedanken an Speckknödel, Jausenbrettln und Gulasch schwelgen, erscheint am Horizont schon die Turmspitze der St. Prokulus Kirche. Ein Halt an diesem kulturellen Kunstschatz ist unumgänglich, denn im Inneren verbergen sich einzigartige Wandmalereien aus dem 8. Jahrhundert. Und direkt nebenan erwartet die Besucher ein spannender unterirdischer Geschichtsparcours. Für kulturell Interessierte ist aber ebenso Schloss Juval einen Besuch wert. Und auch wenn ein erfrischender Sprung ins Thermalwasser nur allzu verlockend scheint, verschieben wir das auf einen nächsten Besuch und freuen uns auf einen Terrassenplatz in der Sonne und regionale Köstlichkeiten.

Merano. Sei lettere capaci di suscitare la voglia di vacanza. Il motivo è presto spiegato se si pensa che qui, e nei paesi limitrofi, è possibile provare piacevoli esperienze per tutti i sensi e gusti. Preparatevi ora a un viaggio che, da Scena, conduce verso la città termale, Lagundo e Naturno.

Scena

Basta affacciarsi dalla finestra della propria camera d’albergo per constatare che fuori, sulle colline moreniche e sulle cime del Gruppo di Tessa, il tempo è bello. Preparato lo zaino e al-

lacciate le scarpe, quindi, partiamo alla scoperta del Burgraviato. Al mattino, la passeggiata nel centro di Scena ci porta davanti a negozi gastronomici e artigianali così come a enoteche. Nel corso della giornata, poi, decidiamo insieme se, alla sera, gustarci un aperitivo in un bar o una cena con vista sulla valle. Nel frattempo, ci godiamo la nostra piacevole camminata in mezzo ai meleti baciati dal sole e pensiamo che questo paesino ci ha proprio conquistati.

Merano

Percorriamo Vicolo Lazago, attraversiamo il Ponte Romano, raggiungiamo la Passeggiata Lungo Passirio ed eccoci arrivati nel cuore di Merano. Sorseggiamo un buon caffè ai tavolini esterni di un bar con vista sul verde e col fiume Passirio in sottofondo. Proseguiamo il nostro giro salendo sulla Passeggiata Tappeiner, ricca di vegetazione e con uno spettacolare panorama sulla città, di cui è impossibile non innamorarsi tutte le volte. Nulla potrebbe distogliere

il nostro sguardo da un simile scenario, se non fosse che ci sono ancora tante cose da fare qui: rilassarsi alle terme, visitare i Giardini di Castel Trauttmansdorff, il Palais Mamming così come diversi musei che invitano a conoscere la storia e la cultura locali.

Lagundo

Proseguiamo la nostra gita in sella a due mountain bike noleggiate. Ci dirigiamo verso il pittoresco centro di Lagundo e rammentiamo l’ultima volta che ci siamo stati: era estate e c’era un concerto che diffondeva vibrazioni positive; salimmo anche con la cestovia alla Malga Leiter. Con questi bei ricordi in mente, continuiamo a pedalare senza quasi accorgerci della salita, la quale ci condurrà al prossimo punto di ristoro. Raggiunto lo spot panoramico Hochkreuz, ci concediamo una piccola pausa all’ombra del verdeggiante pergolato sito alle spalle dei Troni di Trauttmansdorff – delle sedie di legno giganti. Anche Lagundo visto dall’alto sembra un’isola verde tra le montagne:

non a caso è detto il “paese giardino”. Da marzo a ottobre, numerosi eventi, tour guidati, mercati a tema enologico e legati al mondo vegetale attraggono i visitatori.

Naturno

Seguiamo la ciclabile asfaltata lungo il fiume Adige, in direzione della Val Venosta. Pedalata dopo pedalata, costeggiamo i meleti e sentiamo un certo languorino farsi largo nello stomaco: non vediamo l’ora di fermarci in una delle tradizionali osterie di Naturno per assaporare i canederli allo speck, un tagliere di salumi e formaggi, il gulasch… Prima, però, è d’obbligo una sosta alla chiesa di San Procolo, di cui già scorgiamo la guglia all’orizzonte. Al suo interno sono conservati degli affreschi risalenti all’VIII secolo; nell’area esterna antistante, invece, è stato realizzato un museo sotterraneo. Da non perdere è anche una visita a Castel Juval, che consigliamo particolarmente agli appassionati di cultura. Infine, sebbene un tuffo alle terme di Naturno sarebbe una proposta davvero allettante, ci godiamo un po’ di vitamina D su una terrazza soleggiata e ci concediamo tante golose specialità regionali.

So pack your rucksack, lace up your boots and off we go through the spring-like Burgraviato. In the early morning we stroll through the centre of Schenna, past shops selling delicacies, handicrafts or wine. As we continue our stroll, we all ponder whether we should treat ourselves to a cocktail in one of the bars or go out for a cosy dinner with a view of the valley. We are soon in the midst of the apple trees that are happily blossoming in the sun. Schenna: what a beautiful and sunny spot, we think to ourselves as we have almost reached the valley.

Meran / Merano

We approach Meran via the Vicolo Lazago path and the Stone Footbridge We reach the Passer Promenade and are already in the pulsating heart of the spa town.

There are cafés luring us in: a cappuccino, the gentle murmur of the river Passirio in the background, fresh greenery in front of us. We walk up to the Tappeiner Promenade path, with its unique and varied vegetation, and are amazed not only by the view of the city, but also by ourselves. We fall in love with this little town all over again! Is there anything that would take us away from this view? All kinds of activities that the spa town has to offer. We will visit the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, relax in the thermal baths, take a look around Palais Mamming and experience Meran's culture and history in its other museums.

Algund / Lagundo

We rent a pair of mountain bikes and continue our journey on two wheels. As we ride through the picturesque vil-

lage centre of Algund, we are reminded of our last stay: a summer concert with a really unique atmosphere and our excursion on the basket lift to the "Leiter Alm" hut. Brimming with nostalgia, we do not even notice the climb that leads us to our next rest stop. At the larger-than-life wooden deck chairs: the Trauttmansdorff Throne, at the Hochkreuz vantage point. We can catch our breath in the shade of the green pergola and look back on our journey so far. The garden village of Algund lives up to its name, looking almost like a green island between the mountains when viewed from above. Visitors are surprised with varied events, guided hikes and markets on the theme of wine, plant life and much more here between March and October.

Naturns / Naturno

We continue to follow the cycle path along the Adige river towards the Val

Venosta and enjoy the smooth asphalt under our tyres. We soon reach our destination and our appetite for a delicious lunch in one of the traditional inns of Naturns grows with every extra metre. While we whiz past apple orchards and indulge in thoughts of “Speckknödel” dumplings, "Jausenbrettln" snacks and goulash, the spire of St. Proculus Church can already be seen on the horizon. A stop at this art history treasure is inevitable, because its interior hides unique wall paintings dating back to the 8th century. An exciting underground history trail awaits visitors right next door. For the culturally interested, however, Juval Castle is also well worth a visit. Although a refreshing plunge into the thermal waters seems all too tempting, we'll postpone it until our next visit and look forward to a terrace in the sun and regional delicacies.

Wasser und Wein waren in Marling schon immer eng miteinander verbunden. Im 18. Jahrhundert schufen die Kartäuser Mönche zur Bewässerung ihrer Weinberge den Marlinger Waal, der noch heute 300 ha Kulturgrund mit Wasser versorgt. Für die Instandhaltung wurde ein Weg entlang des Kanals angelegt. Der Marlinger Waalweg ist mit zwölf km der längste Waalweg Südtirols. Er führt vorbei an Weinbergen, Apfelwiesen und Kastanienbäu-

men und bietet einen fantastischen Ausblick auf das Meraner Land. Das mediterrane Klima macht die Wanderung entlang der Bewässerungsanlage zu jeder Jahreszeit zu einem erlebnisreichen Ausflug. Doch es sind nicht nur leicht begehbare Wanderrouten wie diese, die für eine Auszeit in Marling sprechen. Sieben Weinproduzenten, die zum Teil auch Sekt herstellen, sowie zwei Brennereien erwecken die Genusskultur zum Leben – in der Gastro-

nomie, bei einer Kellerführung mit Verkostung oder einem der vielen Wein-Events.

A Marlengo, l’acqua e il vino sono da sempre strettamente legati. Nel XVIII secolo, infatti, i monaci certosini commissionarono la costruzione della roggia di Marlengo per irrigare i loro vigneti. Ancora oggi, quest’ultima rifornisce di acqua 300 ha di terreno e, con i suoi 12 km, è la più lunga dell’Alto Adige.

Inoltre, per poter svolgere i lavori di manutenzione, lungo il canale venne costruito un sentiero, il quale si snoda tra vigneti, meleti e castagneti e offre una fantastica vista sul Meranese. Grazie al clima mediterraneo, poi, è piacevole passeggiarvi in qualsiasi stagione.

Ma non sono solo i facili itinerari escursionistici a fare di Marlengo un’attraente destinazione turistica, bensì anche la presenza di sette aziende produttrici di vino e, alcune, di spumante così come due distillerie. Ecco allora che la cultura del piacere viene esaltata durante un tour delle cantine con degustazione o uno dei tanti eventi enogastronomici.

In Marlengo, water and wine have always been closely associated with each other. To irrigate their vineyards, the Carthusian monks created the Mar-

lengo Waal (irrigation channel) back in the 18th century, which still supplies 300 ha of cultivated soil with water today. To maintain it, a path was built along the canal. The Marlengo Waalweg (12 km) is the longest Waalweg in South Tyrol. It leads past vineyards, apple orchards and chestnut trees and offers a fantastic view of the Merano countryside. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the hike along the irrigation system is an exciting excursion in any season. However, it is not only the easily accessible hiking routes such as these that speak for a relaxing getaway in Marlengo. Discover the seven wine producers, some of whom also produce sparkling wine, and two distilleries which bring the culture of indulgence to life. Liebesgeschichte aus dem Muchele

Die laue Abendluft umfängt mich sinnlich, als ich auf die Veranda meiner Suite trete. Die untergehende Sonne zeichnet ganz schwach die Bergsilhouette an den Himmel und ins Wasser des Infinitypools. Und die Palmen in dieser Kulisse – ein unerwartetes und wunderschönes Bild an meinem ersten Abend hier im Muchele. Mit leisen Versprechungen trägt die Luft sanfte Töne von der Hotelbar zu mir hinauf. Ob ich es wagen und doch noch einmal runtergehen sollte? Mir liegt noch der köstliche Geschmack des mineralischen Weißweins vom Abendessen auf der Zunge. Und trotzdem verspüre ich Lust auf mehr. Mehr von diesem flirrenden Lebensgefühl. Ich ziehe mir mein rotes Seidenkleid

über, nichts weiter, und steuere schon kurz darauf die Bar an. Wie die Kulisse aus einem Film scheint mir dieses Haus mit seinen bunten Designelementen. Leise Tangomusik passt zu dieser Szene, die mich jetzt vollends in sich aufnimmt und die Geschichte mitschreiben lässt.

Der Mann sitzt alleine direkt am Tresen. Diese breiten Schultern sind genau das, was ich heute suche. Er dreht seinen Kopf nur leicht zur Seite, als er meine High-Heels auf dem Steinboden klacken hört. Ich atme tief durch, spüre die kühlende Seide auf meiner Haut. Ich bin nun unwiderruflich Teil der Geschichte. Dann fasse ich in sein Haar, ziehe seinen Kopf nach hinten und hauche sanft in sein Ohr: „Na Liebling, lädst du mich noch auf

einen Drink ein, bevor morgen wieder die Kinder das Sagen haben?“

Il sole al tramonto contorna di morbida luce la silhouette delle montagne all’orizzonte, il cui riflesso si increspa sulla superficie dell’infinity pool cinta da qualche palma: che cornice meravigliosamente inaspettata per la mia prima notte al Muchele! Come un invito discreto ed elegante, il vento porta alle mie orecchie sommessi rumori dal bar… Dopotutto, perché non scendere di nuovo? Percepisco ancora in bocca i deliziosi sentori minerali del vino bianco della cena. Eppure, desidero di più. Altre vibranti emozioni.

Dunque mi infilo il vestito di seta rossa, nient’altro, e mi dirigo di lì a poco verso il bar. L’ambiente, con fini elementi di design e una soffusa musica da tango in sottofondo, mi ricorda lo scenario di un film, che mi assorbe completamente concedendomi l’opportunità di farne parte. Noto un uomo seduto da solo al bancone. Le sue spalle larghe sono proprio ciò di cui ho bisogno oggi. Si volta leggermente di lato quando sente i miei tacchi vertiginosi calpestare il pavimento in pietra. Prendo un respiro profondo, avverto la freschezza della seta sulla pelle. Sì, ormai sono irrevocabilmente parte della scena. Quindi, infilo le dita tra i suoi capelli, tiro leggermente indietro la testa e gli sussurro all’orecchio: “Allora, caro, mi inviteresti per un drink prima che domani siano ancora i bambini al centro dell’attenzione?”.

The mild evening air sensually embraces me as I step onto the patio of my suite. As the sun sets, the silhouette of the mountains softly appears

against the sky and is reflected in the water of the infinity pool. And there are palm trees in this setting – an unexpected yet wonderful sight on my first evening here at the Muchele. With quiet promises, the air is carrying soft tunes from the hotel bar towards me. Should I take a chance and go back downstairs after all? I still have the delicious taste of the mineral white wine I had for dinner on the tip of my tongue. And yet I feel a desire for more. More of that scintillating feeling of being alive.

I put on my red silk dress, nothing else, and head for the bar shortly afterwards. The colourful design elements of this place seem like something out of a movie. Gentle tango music matches this scene, which now fully engulfs me and makes me co-author of the story.

A man sits alone at the bar. His broad shoulders are exactly what I'm looking for tonight. He only slightly turns his head to the side when he hears my

high heels tapping on the stone floor. I take a deep breath, sensing the cooling silk on my skin. I am now irrevocably part of this story. Then I grab his hair, pull his head back and gently whisper in his ear, "Well darling, are you going to buy me a drink before the kids are in charge again tomorrow?"

La statua di Walther von der Vogelweide – noto poeta medievale tedesco – si staglia sulla piazza principale di Bolzano. Se non che un giorno spalanca i suoi occhi di marmo, prende vita e decide di avventurarsi in quella che sarà la città di domani.

Once upon a time, Walther von der Vogelweide opened his stony eyes and, miraculously, he was able to stretch, to shake himself and to sneak away from his usual resting place in the heart of the city of Bolzano. He went on a little adventure to explore the Bolzano of tomorrow.

In über 130 Jahren hat er von seiner Kanzel aus so einiges gesehen und erlebt, kennt Sorgen und Nöte der Stadt, hat Liebenden und klugen Köpfen im Vorbeigehen gelauscht. Eins war für den Walther dabei immer schon klar: Bozen ist lebendig, im Wandel und voller Eindrücke. Nun kann er sich endlich einmal unters Volk mischen, sich das Bozen der Zukunft von nahem anschauen und stößt dabei auf viele spannende Highlights. Von seinem Brunnen hinab führt ihn sein erster Weg direkt in den neuen WaltherPark. Staunend steht er vor dem neuen Eingangstor der Innenstadt. Das ehemalige Bahnhofsareal wurde verschönert und mit einem ausgeklügelten Verkehrskonzept verbunden. Außerdem wurde dort, wo bislang eine langanhaltende Baulücke war, jetzt der OfficePark errichtet. Der Bahnhofsbereich und dessen Umgebung (Ex-Hotel Alpi und die ehemalige Handelskammer Bozen) wurden zum neuen WaltherPark mit hochwertigen Wohnungen, einem Hotel, Büros sowie einem Einkaufszentrum, welches den aktuellen Handelsbedürfnissen entspricht. Da möchte der Walther gleich drauflos shoppen, bummeln und am liebsten direkt einziehen, um von hier aus auf die Innenstadt und das Herz von Bozen zu blicken.

Doch seine Neugier leitet ihn weiter zur brandneuen Virgl-Seilbahn, welche von den Stararchitekten Snøhetta entworfen wurde und ihn in nur 72 Sekunden mitten ins grüne Herz von Bozen befördert. Dort gibt es sogar noch mehr zu entdecken: Direkt angekommen, schleicht er sich ins neue Naturkunde- und Archäologiemuseum. Da möchte er nämlich endlich dem berühmten Ötzi einen Besuch abstatten. Diesem ist seit seinem Umzug auf den sonnigen Virgl nicht mehr so kalt und er ruft dem Walther prompt „Viva Virgolo!“ entgegen. Abermals wird Walther von den Eindrücken weitergelockt und er wird von den süßen Klängen des Haydn Orchesters an der Piazza am Ausgang der Bergstation

direkt in die grüne Naherholungszone begleitet. Von dort aus hat der Walther sogar noch einen besseren Ausblick als von seiner Kanzel am Waltherplatz. Nämlich in die strahlende Zukunft der Landeshauptstadt.

Dalla fontana alla base del suo “trono”, si dirige verso le porte del centro città dove sorge il contemporaneo WaltherPark: un importante progetto di riqualificazione urbanistica dell’areale ferroviario, che include un ingegnoso concetto di viabilità. Inoltre, dove prima vi era una grande superficie inutilizzata, ora

si erge l’OfficePark. Questi ampi spazi e i loro dintorni – un tempo dedicati all’Hotel Alpi e all’ex sede della Camera di commercio di Bolzano – ospitano diversi edifici come esclusivi appartamenti, una struttura alberghiera, degli uffici nonché un centro commerciale. Resistendo alla tentazione di passeggiare tra le vetrine e queste aree dal look moderno, Walther continua il suo tour verso la futuristica funivia del Vir-

golo, progettata dal pluripremiato studio di architettura norvegese Snøhetta, che gli permette di immergersi nel verde sopra la città in soli 72 secondi. Lassù, addirittura, c’è un mondo ancora più esteso da scoprire: dal Museo di scienze naturali e quello archeologico – dove è conservato il famoso Ötzi, che è felice della sua nuova “casa” – alla piazza sita all’uscita della stazione a monte – palcoscenico delle melodiche esibizioni dell’Orchestra Haydn – fino alla tranquilla area circondata dalla natura. La vista che si apre sulla conca bolzanina dal VivaVirgolo è decisamente più invitante di quella che attende il poeta nella piazza a lui dedicata: è il promettente scenario di una città dinamica che non vuole restare statica come il marmo di fronte al suo domani.

He has seen and experienced a lot from his pulpit in over 130 years. He knows about the city's worries and hardships, and has listened to lovers and clever minds as they passed by. For Walther, one thing has always been clear: Bolzano is alive, ever-changing and full of new impressions. Finally, he can mingle with the people, take a good look at the Bolzano of the future and discover many exciting highlights. His first path leads him down from his fountain and straight into the new WaltherPark. He stands before the city centre's new entrance gate in complete amazement.

What used to be the railway station area has now been enhanced and linked to an ingenious traffic concept. Furthermore, the OfficePark has now been constructed where previously there was a long-lasting construction gap. The area surrounding the railway station (ex-Hotel Alpi and the former Bolzano Chamber of Commerce) has been transformed into the new WaltherPark with high-end flats, a hotel, offices and a shopping centre that meets current commercial needs. Walther immediately wants to go shopping, stroll around and preferably move right in so that he can look out over the city centre and the heart of Bolzano from this vantage point.

However, his curiosity leads him on to the brand new "Virgl" cable car, designed by the star architects Snøhetta. In just 72 seconds, it takes him right into Bolzano's green heart. There's even more to discover there: once he has arrived, he sneaks into the new Museum of Natural History and Archaeology. He wants to finally pay a visit to the world-famous Ötzi. Since moving to the sunny Virgolo, Ötzi no longer feels as cold and promptly calls out "Viva Virgolo!" to Walther. Once again, Walther is enticed onward by the impressions. He is accompanied into the green recreation area by the sweet sounds of the Haydn Orchestra as they emanate at the piazza at the exit of the mountain station. Walther has an even better view from

there than he does from his pulpit at Waltherplatz. That is, he can see right into the bright future of the provincial capital.

Die Zeitreise im Überblick Der OfficePark wurde bereits fertiggestellt und verkauft. Die WaltherPark Fertigstellung steht Ende 2024 an, aktuell ist der Bau auf Ebene 0 und zum Teil wurde mit dem Obergeschoss begonnen. Das Virglprojekt ist noch in Planung.

Die Rückzugsoase bei Bozen

die sich harmonisch in das Konzept des Hotels einfügen.

Besonderer Wert wird im Belvedere auf die Verwendung von hochwertigen Produkten gelegt. Sorgfältig ausgewählte Zutaten aus möglichst regionaler Herkunft, ein Küchenchef aus Leidenschaft und Weine von kleinen Kellereien aus der Umgebung sorgen für kulinarische WowMomente. Das Spa- und Beautyangebot auf Basis von Naturprodukten, gewonnen von den umliegenden Lärchenwäldern, rundet das Ganze ab. Das i-Tüpfelchen liefert der atemberaubende Blick beim Aperitif auf der Terrasse – der Bozner Talkessel liegt zu Füßen und bei einem Sprung in den Infinitypool scheinen die Dolomiten zum Greifen nah! Bauernhöfe, die sich an steile Berghänge schmiegen. Landschaften, so schön, als wären sie gemalt. Nutztiere, gerade so viele, wie das Weidegebiet zulässt. Engagement und ganz viel Leidenschaft. Daraus besteht der Alltag von rund 4500 Bauern, welche ihre Milch an Südtiroler Verarbeitungsbetriebe liefern.

Masi abbarbicati sui pendii, paesaggi tanto curati da sembrare dipinti, un numero di animali ridotto e adattato alla superficie foraggera, impegno e, soprattutto, immensa passione: ecco di cosa è fatta la quotidianità dei circa 4500 contadini che conferiscono il latte agli stabilimenti di lavorazione altoatesini.

Farmhouses perched on the slopes, landscapes so perfect that they seem like a painting, a reduced number of animals adapted to the forage area, commitment and, above all, immense passion. This is all part of the life of the approximately 4,500 farmers delivering milk to the South Tyrolean processing plants.

4:30 Uhr. Es ist Ostern und pünktlich wie jeden Morgen klingelt Pauls Wecker: Zeit, um in den Stall zu gehen. Die Milch wird nämlich an 365 Tagen und unabhängig von Feiertagen oder Wochenenden immer frisch geliefert. Hin und wieder träumt Paul davon, sein Kissen doch noch ein wenig länger im Arm zu halten, aber er ist es mittlerweile gewohnt, so früh aufzustehen. Bauer sein kann man nur aus wahrer Leidenschaft und Paul selbst beschreibt seinen Job im Rhythmus der Natur gern mit den Worten: „Es bedeutet viel Verzicht, aber genauso viel Erfüllung.“

Ausgerüstet mit Stiefeln und Hut beginnt Paul seinen Arbeitstag mit dem Füttern der Kühe: Ausschließlich Heu und eine exakte Menge an Getreide, denn je besser das Futter, desto besser wird am Ende auch die Qualität der Milch. Anschließend wird es Zeit, die Türen des Melkstands zu öffnen. Kaile ist immer die Erste, die den Raum betritt, um sich vorab noch ein paar Streicheleinheiten zu holen. Die gesamte Herde besteht nur aus Braunviehern, einer heimischen Rinderrasse im Alpenraum. Paul kennt nicht nur jede einzelne seiner 17 Braunvieh-Damen beim Namen, die Tiere hören auch darauf und kommen angelaufen – vorausgesetzt, sie haben Lust dazu. Im Stall können sich die Kühe nämlich frei bewegen: von der Tränke zur Massagebürste, von der Panoramaterrasse mit Blick auf die Dolomiten zu den strohgedeckten Liegeflächen. So sieht gelebtes Tierwohl aus.

Der Hof von Paul liegt auf über 1500 m Höhe, wie etwa 65 % der Südtiroler Bauernhöfe. Er wird seit 1349 an die nächste Generation weitergegeben und bewirtschaftet. Trotzdem lässt sich diese Hochachtung vor der Tradition gut mit Modernisierung verbinden, auch wenn

das Mähen der Wiesen weiterhin von Hand mit Sense und Rechen erledigt werden muss, wenn es für die Anwendung von Maschinen zu steil ist. Die örtlichen Landwirte scheuen keine Mühen, um die beste Milchqualität zu erzeugen und die alpine Kulturlandschaft zu erhalten. Einzig und allein durch ihr großes Engagement und ihre starke Verbundenheit zu Natur und Land, lassen sich diese täglichen Herausforderungen meistern.

Ore 4:30. È Pasqua e, puntuale come tutte le mattine, la sveglia di Paul suona: bisogna alzarsi per andare in stalla. Il latte, infatti, viene conferito fresco 365 giorni all’anno, feriali o festivi che siano. Talvolta, Paul sogna di poter ab-

bracciare più a lungo il proprio cuscino, ma ormai è abituato alle levatacce e, poi, si sa che contadini si può essere solo per passione. “Tanti sacrifici, ma altrettante soddisfazioni”, come lui stesso ama riassumere il proprio lavoro dettato dai ritmi della natura.

Infilati gli stivali e sistemato il cappello, per prima cosa Paul dà il foraggio alle mucche: solo fieno e una quantità controllata di cereali, perché è proprio dall’alimentazione naturale dei bovini che dipende l’alta qualità del latte. Dopodiché è ora di aprire le porte della sala mungitura. Kaile, come consueto, è la prima a entrare, approfittandone per strappare qualche carezza solo per sé (quando si dice “benessere animale”!).

Non solo Paul conosce per nome tutte le sue diciassette brune alpine, una razza autoctona, ma anche loro stesse accorrono solerti quando vengono chiamate – sempre che ne abbiano voglia. Nella stalla, infatti, le mucche sono libere di spostarsi a piacimento: dalla mangiatoia alla spazzola massaggiante, dalla terrazza panoramica vista Dolomiti alle cuccette ricoperte di paglia.

Se è vero che l’azienda a oltre 1500 m – quota media di circa il 65% dei masi dell’Alto Adige – viene gestita da generazioni sin dal lontano 1349, il rispetto della tradizione è ben coniugato al rimodernamento attuale. Quando si tratta di falciare l’erba nei pascoli troppo scoscesi per i macchinari, tuttavia, il lavoro continua a venire svolto a mano, con falce e rastrello. Davvero gli allevatori locali non lesinano sforzi per produrre latte della migliore qualità e preservare il paesaggio culturale alpino. Solo una grande dedizione e un forte legame con il territorio permettono di vincere

le sfide quotidiane.

4:30 a.m. It's Easter, and Paul's alarm goes off, punctual as ever. Time to get up and go to the stable. Milk is delivered fresh, 365 days a year, whether on weekdays or holidays. Sometimes Paul dreams of being able to hug his pillow a bit longer, but by now he is used to getting up early and, as everyone knows, you can only be a farmer based on passion. “There are so many sacrifices, but just as much satisfaction”, as he summarizes his work that is dictated by the rhythms of nature.

After putting on his boots and adjusting his hat, the first thing Paul does is to give the cows their forage: only hay and a controlled quantity of cereals, as high-quality milk depends on natural cattle feed. Next, it's time to open the doors to the milking area. Kaile, as usual, is the first to enter, taking the opportunity to snatch a few caresses just for herself (the true definition of "animal

welfare"!). Not only does Paul know all of his seventeen Alpine browns, a native breed, by name, but they dutifully come when they are called – if they feel like it. In the stable, the cows are free to move at will. They can calmly roam from the manger to the massaging brush, and from the panoramic terrace overlooking the Dolomites to the straw-covered bedding area.

The company, located at over 1,500 m – the average altitude of about 65% of farms in South Tyrol – has been managed for generations since 1349, and respect for tradition combines with the latest modern techniques. When it comes to mowing pastures too steep for machinery, the work is still done by hand, utilizing scythe and rake. The local farmers literally spare no effort to produce the best quality milk and preserve the Alpine cultural landscape. Wir bieten den Passagieren beim Ticketkauf die Option, ihren Beitrag zum Umweltschutz zu leisten und ihren CO 2 -Fußabdruck durch einen Aufpreis noch stärker zu kompensieren. Der CO 2 -Fußabdruck wird nämlich bereits durch die Unternehmensgruppe FRI-EL Green Power ausgeglichen. SkyAlps ist Teil dieser Unternehmensgruppe, die durch die Produktion von grüner Energie CO 2 einspart. Dies wiederum führt zu einem Ausgleich der CO 2 -Emissionen im Flugbetrieb.

This has been confirmed by the airport's neighbours that farm fields on a daily basis. We offer passengers the option to do their part in protecting the environment and offset their carbon footprint to an even greater extent by paying a surcharge when they buy their ticket. Hui! Kühler Wind weht mir ins Gesicht, als ich durch die Luft sause. Über mir der wolkenlose Himmel, vor mir die schroffen Felsen des Rosengarten. Mit einem Plopp lande ich auf dem Fairway und höre sogleich eine Stimme.

„Hey du! Ja du! Ich bin hier drüben.“

Unter dichtem Gestrüpp liegt ein Golfball, genauso einer, wie ich es bin. „Was machst du da?“, frage ich ihn.

„Ich chille.“

„Chillen? Du liegst im Rough. Du bist verloren.“

„Was für ein Blödsinn! Mein Spieler sitzt gerade bei einem Glas Lagrein im Clubhouse. Danach kommt er mich holen.“

„Klar.“ Ich verdrehe die Augen. „Wird ein Golfball nicht innerhalb von drei Minuten gefunden, gilt er als verloren und wird zurückgelassen.“

Der Golfball geht nicht auf meine Bemerkung ein. „Du bist nicht aus Südtirol. Hab’ deine großen Augen gesehen. So schaut jeder Ball, wenn er hier im Golfclub Carezza das erste Mal über den Platz fliegt.“

„Ich dachte, ich könnte die Berge berühren!“

„Oh ja, genau wie auf dem Golfplatz St. Vigil Seis. Der liegt direkt unter dem Schlern, ein grandioser Bergplatz! So grandios wie der GC Alta Badia, einer der höchstgelegenen Golfclubs Europas. Diese drei sind super für den Hochsommer. Im Herbst und Frühling hingegen bin ich am liebsten auf den flachen Golfplätzen in Lana und Eppan unterwegs. Ich liebe die prächtigen Obstwiesen der Umgebung, aber die Wasserhindernisse in Eppan sind eine wahre

Herausforderung.“

„Uff“, werfe ich ein, „ich habe höllische Angst vorm Badengehen.“

„Welcher Golfball hat das nicht.“ Mein Gegenüber lacht.

„Wie viele Golfclubs gibt es insgesamt in Südtirol?“

„Drei 18-Loch- und fünf 9-Loch-Plätze, einige Übungsanlagen sowie den GC Dolomiti gleich hinter der Grenze im Trentino.“

„Ich hoffe, wir besuchen die alle, solange ich hier bin“, sage ich. In diesem Moment beginnt die Erde unter mir zu beben. Schon spüre ich das kalte Eisen an meinem Rücken. „Gute Reise!“, höre ich noch, bevor ich wieder Richtung Bergspitzen fliege.

Un fresco venticello mi solletica il viso mentre sfreccio nell’aria: sopra di me il cielo terso, davanti le scoscese rocce del Gruppo del Catinaccio. Con un plopatterro sul fairway e, d’un tratto, sento una voce.

«Ehi, tu! Sì, proprio tu… sono qui dietro.»

Sotto una spessa sterpaglia noto una pallina da golf, proprio come me. «Cosa fai là?», le domando.

«Ma quale relax! Ti trovi nel rough, sei stata smarrita.»

«Non dire sciocchezze! Il mio giocatore si sta gustando un calice di Lagrein nella club house, dopo torna a prendermi.»

«Come no…», esclamo alzando gli occhi al cielo. «Se una pallina non viene trovata entro tre minuti, conta come persa e viene abbandonata.»

La pallina non controbatte, ma osserva: «Tu non sei originaria dell’Alto Adige, ho notato i tuoi occhi sgranati: è lo sguardo che fa ogni pallina quando vola per la prima volta sopra il Golf Club Carezza».

«Mi pareva di toccare le guglie dolomitiche!»

«Proprio come al campo di St. Vigil Seis presso l’Alpe di Siusi: si trova direttamente sotto allo Sciliar, una montagna davvero scenografica. Altrettanto grandioso è anche il GC Alta Badia, uno dei più alti d’Europa. Queste location sono perfette per l’estate, mentre in autunno e in primavera prediligo i pianeggianti golf club a Lana e Appiano: adoro i rigogliosi frutteti che li cingono, tuttavia gli ostacoli d’acqua ad Appiano sono una vera sfida.»

«Mi rilasso.»

«Wow, spero davvero di visitarli tutti finché sono qui», osservo sognante. Nello stesso istante, il terreno sotto di me comincia a tremare e avverto il freddo della mazza sulla mia schiena. “Buon viaggio!” sono le ultime parole che sento mentre volo verso le cime delle montagne.

Whoo! A cool wind blows in my face as I whiz through the air. The cloudless sky above me, the rugged peaks of the Catinaccio in the distance. With a plop I land on the fairway and immediately hear a voice.

"Hey you! Yeah you! I'm over here."

Under the thick undergrowth lies a golf ball, the same kind as I am. "What are you doing?" I ask him.

"I'm chilling."

"Chilling? You're in the rough. You're lost."

"What a load of nonsense! My player is sitting in the clubhouse right now with a glass of Lagrein. He's coming back for me afterwards."

"Sure." I roll my eyes. "If a golf ball is not found within three minutes, it is regarded as lost and left behind."

The golf ball does not respond to my statement. "You're not from South Tyrol. I have seen your big eyes. That's how every ball looks when it flies over the course here at Carezza Golf Club for the very first time."

"I thought I could touch the mountains!"

"Oh yes, just like the St. Vigil Seis golf course. It is located directly under the Sciliar, a magnificent mountain course!

As grandiose as the GC Alta Badia, one of the highest golf clubs in Europe. These three are great for the high summer. In autumn and spring, on the other hand, I prefer the flat golf courses in Lana and Appiano. I love the gorgeous orchards in the area, but the water hazards in Appiano are a real challenge."

"Whew," I interject, "I'm scared as hell of going for a swim."

"What golf ball isn't?" My counterpart laughs.

"How many golf clubs are there in South Tyrol altogether?"

"Three 18-hole and five 9-hole courses, some practice facilities and the GC Dolomiti just over the border, in Trentino."

"I hope we will visit all of them while I am here," I say. In that moment, the earth begins to shake beneath me. I can already feel the cold iron against my back. "Have a good trip!" I hear before I fly back towards the mountain peaks.

Neben dem bekannten Pragser Wildsee und Karersee faszinieren auch der SorapisSee und der Limedes-See in den Ampezzaner Dolomiten. Ersterer verdankt seine türkise Farbe dem weißen Pulver der umliegenden Berge. In Letzterem spiegeln sich der Lagazuoi und die Tofana di Rozes: Man sagt, all jene, die reinen Herzens sind, vermögen im See das Spiegelbild einer Anguana zu erkennen, einer Wasser-Nymphe aus der ladinischen Mythologie.

Wir machen uns auf zum Museumsplaneten. Am Kronplatz ragen zwei Attraktionen beinahe bis in die Atmosphäre: das Lumen von Architekt Gerhard Mahlknecht und das MMM Corones von Stararchitektin Zaha Hadid. Während das Lumen das Museum für Bergfotografie beherbergt, erzählt das MMM vom Alpinismus aus den Augen Reinhold Messners. Beide Museen liegen im hochalpinen Gebirge und warten mit einem spektakulären Panoramablick.

Die Worte „Che bontà!“ begleiten jeden Loacker-Genussmoment seit 1925. Es war Alfons Loacker, der die traditionelle Konditortradition in unserem Unternehmen einführte, als er in einer kleinen Konditorei in Bozen seine Waffeln herstellte. Auch heute produzieren wir von Loacker alle unsere Köstlichkeiten inmitten der Berge auf 1000 m Meereshöhe (in Unterinn und Heinfels). Wir verwenden natürliche Zutaten, verzichten auf jegliche Aromen, Farb- und Konservierungsstoffe und streben jeden Tag nach mehr sozialer und ökologischer Nachhaltigkeit. Wir verwenden ausschließlich italienische Haselnüsse und bauen diese zum Teil auf eigenen Plantagen in der Toskana an. Thomas Zelger lebt seit zehn Jahren auf Ibiza. Als es ihn im Alter von 27 Jahren aus einer Laune heraus nach dem Architekturstudium nach Ibiza zog, war er sofort von der kleinen Baleareninsel fasziniert. Heute vermietet der Bozner erfolgreich Apartments und Luxusvillen an Urlauber und nennt Ibiza sein Zuhause.

Thomas Zelger vive a Ibiza da dieci anni. Dopo gli studi in architettura, l’allora ventisettenne decise, un po’ per sfizio, di recarsi sulla piccola isola delle Baleari, che lo ammaliò fin da subito. Oggi il bolzanino affitta appartamenti e ville di lusso ai vacanzieri e la isla bonita è diventata la sua casa.

Thomas Zelger has been living in Ibiza for ten years. When he moved to Ibiza on a whim at the age of 27, after completing his architecture studies, he was immediately fascinated by the small Balearic island. Nowadays, the man from Bolzano successfully rents out flats and luxury villas to vacationers and considers Ibiza his home.

Eintauchen in das Partyleben, hieß es für Thomas zu Beginn seines neuen Abenteuers. Doch auf einer Insel wie Ibiza, die vor allem für ihr wildes Nachtleben bekannt ist, kommt irgendwann der Moment, an dem man eine Entscheidung treffen muss: entweder sich dem Partyleben hingeben oder das Leben in die Hand nehmen und etwas aufbauen. Thomas hat sich für Letzteres entschieden und begann, Ferienwohnungen an Urlauber zu vermieten. Langsam, aber sicher nahm seine Geschäftsidee Fahrt auf und so erweiterte er sein Angebot auf große Villen für wohlhabende Kunden, die nach einem exklusiven Urlaubserlebnis suchen. Mit seiner Liebe zu Architektur und Design verleiht er den Immobilien einen persönlichen, kreativen Touch: „Hier muss alles extravagant sein, denn wenn man sich dem Mittelmaß hingibt, wird man nicht gesehen.“

Und gesehen wurde Thomas schon sehr bald, denn als ein holländischer Privatsender an seine Tür klopfte, um in einer seiner Villen eine Reality-Serie über ehemalige Fußballprofis wie Edgar Davids zu drehen, wuchs das Interesse noch mehr. Neben wohlhabenden Gästen und TVSendern mieten sich auch regelmäßig weltbekannte Luxusfirmen für Fotoshootings ein, um ihre neuen Kollektionen zu bewerben.

„Ibiza ist definitiv ein Place to be”, schwärmt Thomas. „Wenn auch kein günstiges Pflaster, ist Ibiza für mich ein Ort der Sehnsucht, aber vor allem der Extreme. Hier treten die besten DJs der Welt auf und es finden die wildesten Partys statt. Doch gleichzeitig findet man am anderen Ende der Insel paradiesische Strände und Hippie-Lifestyle sowie einsame Buchten und eine unberührte Natur.“

Im Süden Ibizas tobt das Nachtleben mit den besten Clubs, Restaurants und Bars, während im Norden Naturliebha-

ber und Wanderer auf ihre Kosten kommen. Schaut man in den Westen, findet man den klassischen Tourismus mit seinen großen Hotelkomplexen und im Osten liegt eine wunderbar idyllische Familiendestination.

„Auf Ibiza ist sozusagen für jeden etwas dabei und das macht die Insel so einzigartig und verführerisch“, erzählt Thomas. „Die beste Zeit für einen Ibiza-Urlaub hängt natürlich davon ab, wonach man gerade sucht. Für Partygäste sind es definitiv das Season-Opening im Juni und das Closing im September, denn da explodiert das Nachtleben nahezu. Vor allem nach einer langen Saison erreichen Euphorie und Sehnsucht einen emotionalen Höhepunkt.“ Obwohl Ibiza Thomas‘ Zuhause ist, wo er die meiste Zeit des Jahres mit seiner Frau und den zwei Kindern verbringt, zieht es ihn mindestens einmal im Jahr in seine alte Heimat. Die direkte Flugverbindung nach Bozen ist

hierbei perfekt und verkürzt die Reisezeit wesentlich. „SkyAlps ist definitiv ein Game-Changer, für mich persönlich, aber auch für Südtirol. Innerhalb von zwei Stunden ist man auf Ibiza bzw. in Bozen. Zudem hebt SkyAlps den Südtiroler Tourismus auf ein neues Niveau und bringt das Image des Landes ins Spiel. Mit dieser Aufwertung können wir international zeigen, dass wir definitiv den Finger am Puls der Zeit haben.“

Una vita all’insegna della movida. Ecco cosa inseguiva Thomas quando iniziò la sua nuova avventura. Ma su un’isola come Ibiza, nota soprattutto per gli sfrenati party notturni, arriva quel momento in cui bisogna scegliere se continuare un’esistenza all’insegna di eventi festaioli oppure costruire qualcosa di più concreto. Ecco allora che il giovane Zelger cominciò a dare appartamenti in affitto ai turisti. Passo dopo passo, la sua idea imprenditoriale decollò e l’offerta si ampliò, includendo grandi ville per ospiti facoltosi in cerca di un’esperienza esclusiva. Grazie alla sua passione per l’architettura e il design, Thomas seppe aggiungere un tocco creativo e personale agli ambienti: “Qui tutto deve essere stravagante: se si cede alla mediocrità, si passa inosservati”.

Non fu di certo il caso del bolzanino, perché una TV privata olandese mostrò interesse per una delle sue ville e volle girarvi un reality su ex calciatori professionisti, tra cui Edgar Davids. Questa occasione gli valse da “vetrina”, tanto da attirare aziende di lusso di fama globale, le quali scelsero regolarmente gli immobili come set per servizi fotografici delle nuove collezioni. Ibiza è sicuramente un posto dove stare, di questo Thomas è tuttora convinto: “Anche se non sempre abbordabile, trovo che quest’isola sia incantatrice e, soprattutto, ricca di estremi. Qui si esibiscono i migliori DJ del mondo e si organizzano le feste più particolari. Al contempo, dall’altra parte dell’isola, si trovano spiagge paradisiache, uno stile di vita hippie così come baie solitarie e tanta natura incontaminata”.

Se a sud impazza la vita notturna con i migliori club, ristoranti e bar, a nord regna la quiete e la natura per gli amanti della scoperta e dello sport. A ovest, invece, si trova il turismo di massa con i grandi complessi alberghieri, mentre la zona a est è meta più per famiglie alla ricerca di posti idilliaci.

“Si potrebbe dire che Ibiza ha qualcosa da offrire per tutti i gusti ed è esattamente questo che la rende tanto unica e seducente”, afferma Thomas. “Quale sia il periodo migliore per trascorrervi una vacanza dipende da ciò che si desidera: per i viveur è senza dubbio l’esplosiva apertura a giugno e chiusura a settembre. Dopo una lunga stagione all’insegna della movida, le good vibes raggiungono l’apice.” Tuttavia, sebbene Thomas viva per la maggior parte dell’anno sull’isola con la moglie e i due figli, almeno una volta decide di tornare nella sua terra d’origine. In questo caso, il volo aereo diretto verso Bolzano è proprio quello che ci vuole per ridurre di molto i tempi di viaggio. “SkyAlps è sicuramente una svolta, per me, ma anche per l’Alto Adige stesso. In due ore si può essere a Ibiza dall’aeroporto bolzanino, e viceversa. Inoltre, con la presenza di una compagnia aerea si eleva il turismo altoatesino a un nuovo livello, che mette in gioco l’immagine della Provincia: uno sviluppo che dimostra, su scala internazionale, di stare al passo coi tempi.”

Dive into the party life, was what Thomas was told at the very beginning of his new adventure. Yet on an island like Ibiza, which is mainly known for its wild nightlife, there comes a time when you have to make a decision: you either indulge in the party life or take your life into your own hands and start building something. Thomas chose the latter and started renting out holiday flats to tourists. Slowly but surely, his business idea took off and so he expanded his services to include large villas for wealthy clients that are looking for an exclusive holiday experience. Using his love of architecture and design, he lends a personal creative touch to his properties: "Everything has to be extravagant here, because if you succumb to mediocrity, you won't be noticed."

Very soon, Thomas was noticed, because when a private Dutch TV station knocked on his door to film a reality TV series about former professional footballers like Edgar Davids in one of his villas, interest grew even more. In addition to wealthy guests and TV channels, world-famous luxury companies also regularly rent the premises for photo shoots to promote their new collections. "Ibiza is definitely the place to be," Thomas enthusiastically says. "Even if it's not a cheap place, Ibiza is a destination of longing for me, but mainly of extremes. The best DJs in the world perform here and the wildest parties happen. Yet at the same time, on the other end of the island you'll find heavenly beaches and a hippie lifestyle, as well as secluded bays and unspoilt nature."

In the south of Ibiza, nightlife is in full swing and the best clubs, restaurants and bars can be found. In the north, nature lovers and hikers will get their money's worth. If you look to the western side, you will find traditional tourism with large hotel complexes, and in the east there is a wonderfully idyllic family destination.

"There is something for everyone on Ibiza, in a way, and that's what makes this island so unique and seductive," Thomas explains. "The best time for a holiday in Ibiza depends on what you're looking for, of course. For the party crowd, June's season-opening and September's season-closing are definitely the best times, because that's when the nightlife virtually explodes. Particularly after a long season, euphoria and longing reach an emotional peak." Although Ibiza is Thomas' home, the place where he spends most of the year with his wife and two children, his old homeland draws him back at least once a year. The direct flight connection to Bolzano

2. Cala Salada ca. 25 Min. (19 km) mit dem Auto westlich von Ibiza Stadt entfernt, eine der bezauberndsten Buchten mit Sandstrand und türkisfarbenem Wasser, umgeben von pinienbewaldeten Hügeln.

3. Restaurant Jul’s ca. 10 Min. (8 km) mit dem Auto südwestlich von Ibiza Stadt entfernt. Bezeichnet sich selbst als eine „No Limit Cuisine“ mit biologischen Zutaten und der Vermischung von verschiedenen kulinarischen Welten.

4. Sluiz. ca. 13 Min. (11 km) mit dem Auto nördlich von Ibiza Stadt entfernt. Geschäft mit Kuriositäten, Kunstobjekten sowie Bekleidung. Im kleinen Café/Restaurant im Inneren finden regelmäßig Veranstaltungen statt.
