Mit gleich 3 Medaillen, unter anderem Super-G-Gold bei der FIS Alpine Ski WM 2011 in Garmisch- Partenkirchen 2011, war der Pusterer Christof Innerhofer einer der Shootingstars der letztjährigen Skisaison. Il campione pusterese originario di Gais, un meraviglioso paesino di 3.000 abitanti posto all’imbocco della Valle Aurina, è arrivato grazie alla sua fama nel mondo dello sci fino a Milano, quale ambito modello di biancheria intima. L’affascinante pusterese, con il suo sorrisetto malizioso e tutta la sua grinta, si concede in un’esclusiva intervista per “Welcome”, svelandoci i segreti di uno sport praticato a livello professionale e consigliando le meraviglie dell’Alto Adige che secondo lui sono assolutamente da non perdere!

Christof Innerhofer is one of 2011’s top ski celebrities of Val Pusteria, a winner of three medals in the World Championship of alpine skiing that was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of which was a gold medal in the Super G. The champion, whose hometown is Gais, a beautiful little town of 3000 inhabitants at the entrance to Valle Aurina, made it big as a professional skier, and caused a stir in Milan as well as a model for underwear. The handsome Tyrolean with his roguish smile and his dynamic energy offered us an exclusive interview for “Welcome”, revealing secrets of a sport practiced on a professional level and recommending the wonders of South Tyrol that he says are an absolute must!

INTERVIEW: Christof, Du stehst schon seit mehr als 20 Jahren auf den Skiern. Gab es einen ausschlaggebenden Moment für die Wahl Deiner Karriere als Skiprofi? Einen ausschlaggebenden Moment im engeren Sinne gab es eigentlich keinen. Ich stand schon mit 3 Jahren auf den Skiern und war mit 6 / 7 Jahren bereits im Skiclub eingeschrieben. Meine Eltern sind selbst sportbegeistert. Mein Vater war ein hochtalentierter Rodler, der es sich aber aufgrund der finanziellen Situation nicht leisten konnte, den Sport profimäßig auszuüben. Er kommt aus einer sehr kinderreichen Familie, wo es hieß, schon mit 14 arbeiten zu gehen, statt die wertvolle Zeit mit einer möglichen Sportlerkarriere zu „verschwenden“. Daher haben sich meine Eltern umso mehr bemüht, mich und meine Schwester zu fördern und wo es nur geht zu unterstützen. Und außerdem haben wir die Pisten ja quasi vor der Haustür. Da ist der Skisport natürlich sehr naheliegend.

Am Anfang einer Karriere ist es sicherlich schwierig den richtigen Umgang mit Erfolgen und vor allem auch Misserfolgen zu finden. Wie schaffst Du es, dem Druck, insbesondere jenem der Medien, Stand zu halten? Sicherlich ist es am Anfang schwierig mit den Medien umzugehen und vor TV- und Radiointerviews ist man natürlich sehr nervös. Mit der Zeit legt sich das aber. Man lernt aus jeder Situation und mittlerweile gehört es einfach dazu. Von meiner Familie oder dem engeren Umfeld bin ich grundsätzlich nie unter Druck gesetzt worden. Überhaupt kann ich durch die Erfolge der letzten Saison so ruhig wie nie zuvor in die Rennen gehen, da ich niemanden mehr etwas beweisen muss. Sicherlich auch da ich mittlerweile tolle Sponsoren habe, die mir eine gewisse Gelassenheit ermöglichen.

Als Profisportler muss man sehr gut seine eigenen Grenzen kennen. Was würdest Du zu Deinen Stärken zählen, was hingegen zu Deinen Schwächen? Zu meinen Stärken würde ich zählen, dass ich stets versuche aus Fehlern zu lernen und das Positive daraus zu ziehen. Ich bin überzeugt, dass man

sich nur so weiterentwickeln kann. Außerdem bin ich sehr ehrgeizig und auch ein wenig stur, da ich nicht aufgebe, bevor ich mein Ziel erreiche. Als Schwäche hingegen würde ich ein gewisses Maß an Egoismus bezeichnen, das für die Erreichung sportlicher Ziele zwar unerlässlich ist, in der Gruppe aber mitunter zu Spannungen führen kann.

Welchen Beruf würdest Du heute wohl ausüben, wenn es mit der Profikarriere nichts geworden wäre und wieso? Natürlich ist es schwierig zu sagen, was man machen würde, hätte es mit der Skikarriere nicht geklappt. Als Profisportler arbeitet man ja praktisch seit Kindstagen an einer möglichen Karriere bzw. entwickelt bereits früh einen konkreten Berufswunsch. Skiprofi wird man ja auch nicht von heute auf morgen. Grundsätzlich hat mich aber immer sehr die Wirtschaft interessiert.

Du kommst aus Gais, einem kleinen Dörfchen im Pustertal am Eingang zum Tauferer Ahrntal. Wobei entspannst Du während Deiner Freizeit zu Hause am liebsten? Im Frühling nach der Saison entspanne ich am liebsten beim Skifahren mit Freunden am Speikboden und beim Tourenski gehen. Den ganzen Tag mit lieben Menschen zu verbringen, die man leider viel zu selten sieht, und das in einer so einzigartigen Bergkulisse wie der unseren, das ist schon was Besonderes. Im Sommer mag ich es im Talschluss des Ahrntals von einer Hütte zur nächsten zu Wandern. Hier ist die Natur von einer Ursprünglichkeit, wie man sie nur noch selten erleben kann.

Was vermisst Du fern Deiner Heimat besonders bzw. auf was freust Du Dich am meisten, wenn Du nach einem Rennen wieder nach Hause zurückkehrst? Am meisten freu ich mich ehrlichgesagt immer auf mein Bett. Seit einem halben Jahr wohne ich jetzt nun in meiner neuen Wohnung und genieße daher jede freie Minute, die ich hier verbringen kann. Und natürlich das Südtiroler Essen, insbesondere Knödel mit Gulasch von meiner Mutter. Wenn man so viel unterwegs ist, lernt man die heimische Küche umso mehr zu schätzen.

Deine 3 persönlichen Highlights, die sich kein Südtirol-Gast entgehen lassen sollte. Die "Reiner Wasserfälle" im Tauferer Ahrntal, also nahe meinem Heimatdorf; ein beeindruckendes Naturschauspiel, das man gesehen haben muss. Die Dolomiten zu „erleben“. Also entweder beim Skifahren, Langlaufen oder Schneeschuhwandern. Ich bin viel in den Berggebieten auf der ganzen Welt unterwegs, aber die Dolomiten gehören für mich nach wie vor zu den beeindruckendsten. Speckknödel oder Kaiserschmarrn auf einer Berghütte. Das zählt für mich auch zu den absoluten „Highlights“, welches sich jeder SüdtirolBesucher gönnen sollte.

Als Werbeträger für ein bekanntes italienisches Unterwäschelabel bist Du in den nationalen Medien sehr präsent. Wie erlebst Du diesen Kontrast zwischen Deiner ländlichen Heimat und der mondänen Modeszene? Durch meine Erfolge im letzten Winter haben sich für mich in dieser Hinsicht viele Tore geöffnet. Neben dem Unterwäschelabel als Kopfsponsor, hat mich auch Armani als Werbeträger engagiert. Letzten Sommer war ich daher viel in Mailand unterwegs. Ich muss zugeben, dass mich die Modeszene sehr fasziniert. Man lernt interessante Menschen abseits des Sports kennen und knüpft Kontakte. Ich empfinde es daher als eine sehr willkommene und angenehme Abwechslung zur Sportwelt.

Wo siehst Du Dich in 10 Jahren? Möchtest Du weiterhin im Skisport tätig sein? Ich denke, je länger ich aktiv als Profisportler im Skizirkus dabei sein werde, desto geringer ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass ich danach weiterhin eine Tätigkeit in diesem Bereich, beispielsweise als Trainer, ausübe. Das ist auch bei anderen Spitzensportlern vermehrt zu beobachten. Die meisten, die sehr lange dabei waren, ziehen sich anschließend vollkommen von der Sportwelt zurück. Mein Ziel ist es daher, im Laufe der nächsten 10 Jahre eine solide Basis für meine Zukunft zu stellen und Chancen bestmöglich zu nutzen. Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass sich die Welt um einen weiterdreht und man selbst nicht stehenbleiben darf - sonst hat man verloren. >

INTERVIEW: Christof, sono più di 20 anni che scii. C’è stato un momento decisivo nella tua vita che ti ha fatto scegliere di intraprendere la carriera sciistica professionale? Un momento decisivo vero e proprio no. Già all’età di 3 anni stavo sugli sci e a 6/7 anni ero iscritto ad uno sci club. I miei genitori sono appassionati di sport. Mio padre, campione regionale di slittino su pista naturale non aveva potuto contare sulle possibilità finanziare per praticare sport ad alto livello poiché proveniva da una famiglia numerosa e già a 14 anni era dovuto andare a lavorare, invece di “sperperare” il suo tempo alla ricerca di una possibile carriera nel mondo dello sport. Per questo, i miei genitori hanno deciso di assecondare me e mia sorella nella nostra passione. Va inoltre aggiunto che le piste da sci sono quasi davanti alla mia porta di casa, pertanto non ho dovuto allontanarmi molto da casa per seguire la mia passione.

All’inizio della carriera è sicuramente difficile misurarsi con i propri successi e ancora di più con i propri fallimenti. Come riesci a gestire il rapporto con i media? All’inizio è veramente difficile rapportarsi con i media, si è molto nervosi durante le interviste televisive e/o radiofoniche. Con il tempo però ci si abitua e l’esperienza aiuta molto. Da parte della mia famiglia o dalla mia ristretta cerchia di amici non sono mai stato messo sotto pressione. Dopo i risultati della scorsa stagione posso tranquillamente recarmi alle gare, sapendo di non dovere dimostrare niente a nessuno. Inoltre, ho degli ottimi sponsor che mi lasciano tutta la tranquillità di cui ho bisogno.

Un atleta professionista deve conoscere i propri limiti. Quali sono i tuoi punti forti e quali le tue debolezze? Per quanto riguarda l’aspetto positivo del mio carattere cerco sempre di imparare dai miei errori e mi meraviglio nel vedere quanto questo metodo sia utile. Posso inoltre ammettere di essere molto ambizioso e ostinato e di non fermarmi finché non raggiungo il mio obiettivo. D’altra parte gioca a mio svantaggio una dose di egoismo che, necessario per raggiungere gli obiettivi sportivi, può creare tensioni all’interno del gruppo.

Quale carriera avresti intrapreso se non ti fossi dedicato allo sport a livello professionale e perché? E‘ difficile poter affermare oggi quale carriera avrei voluto intraprendere se non avessi avuto successo nel mondo dello sci. Un atleta professionista si dedica sin da bambino allo sport, prima ancora di pensare a quale altro lavoro gli piacerebbe fare e non si diventa sciatori professionisti da un giorno all’altro. Comunque sono sempre stato attratto dall’economia.

Provieni da Gais, un piccolo paesino in Val Pusteria all’imbocco della Valle Aurina. Come preferisci trascorrere il tuo tempo libero quando sei a casa? In primavera, dopo che si è conclusa la stagione mi diverto a sciare insieme ai miei amici nel comprensorio sciistico di Speikboden oppure partecipo a qualche gita di sci alpinistico. Quando sono a casa in questo paesaggio montano meraviglioso, trascorro il tempo in compagnia dei miei cari che, purtroppo a causa dei miei impegni, vedo raramente. Durante l’estate mi piace fare escursioni tra una cima e l’altra in Valle Aurina, dove sono a stretto contatto con una natura pura e incontaminata che difficilmente si trova in altri luoghi.

Cosa ti manca di più di casa tua, ovvero cosa ti entusiasma di più quando dopo una competizione ritorni a casa? La cosa che preferisco è poter dormire nel mio letto. Da circa metà anno abito da solo nel mio nuovo appartamento e mi godo ogni minuto che posso trascorrevi. Naturalmente sento la mancanza della cucina tirolese, in particolare del gulasch con canederli di mia mamma. Quando si è sempre in giro per il mondo si apprezza ancora di più la cucina casalinga.

lo scenario più affascinante che ho potuto ammirare. E per concludere gustarsi canederli di speck e i tipici “Kaiserschmarrn” in un rifugio. Consiglio a tutti i turisti di non perdersi queste prelibatezze.

Quale modello per una nota azienda italiana di biancheria intima sei sempre molto presente nei media a livello nazionale. Come gestisci questo contrasto tra la tua vita privata in un tranquillo paesino e la vita mondana dell’alta moda? Dopo i miei successi dello scorso inverno, il mondo della moda mi ha aperto molte porte. Oltre al marchio di biancheria intima che è ora il mio sponsor principale, sono stato ingaggiato anche da Armani. Per questo, la scorsa estate sono stato spesso a Milano. Devo ammettere che il mondo dell’alta moda mi affascina molto e permette di conoscere sempre nuove persone. La trovo un’ottima alternativa per trascorrere il mio tempo quando non mi alleno.

Come ti vedi tra 10 anni? Ancora nel mondo dello sport? Penso che cercherò di praticare sci a livello professionale e di essere competitivo il più a lungo possibile. Vedo invece meno plausibile la possibilità di continuare a lavorare nel mondo dello sport, ad esempio come allenatore, anche dopo la conclusione della mia carriera sciistica. Molti personaggi di spicco presenti sulla scena sportiva per molti anni si sono poi allontanati da questo mondo. Christof, you have been on skis for over 20 years. What was the decisive moment in your life that made you choose a career as a professional skier?

don’t stop until I reach my goal. On the other hand a dose of egoism plays against me; it’s good when I have to reach sporting goals but at times it can create tensions in the group.

There is no one real decisive moment. I have been on skis since the age of 3 and when I was 6 or 7 I was already signed up for a ski club. My parents are really passionate about the sport. My father was a regional champion of sledding on a natural track and was not able to continue for economic reasons; he came from a large family and he had to go to work when he was 14, instead of “frittering away” his time to concentrate on a career in sports. This is why my parents decided to allow my sister and me to follow our passion. Incidentally, the ski runs are practically at my doorstep so I didn’t need to go far from home to follow my dreams.

Which career path would you have taken had you not dedicated yourself to professional sports and why?

At the beginning of your career it was surely difficult to judge your successes and even tougher, your setbacks. How do you handle your relationship with the media? In the beginning it was really difficult to maintain a rapport with the media, you are very nervous during TV and radio interviews. With time you get used to it and experience helps a lot. My family and close circle of friends never put me under pressure. After the results of last season I can calmly return to the competitions, knowing that I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. In addition I have really great sponsors that leave me all the peace and tranquillity I need.

A professional athlete needs to know his limits. What are your strong points and your weaknesses? On the positive side, I always try to learn from my mistakes and I’m continually surprised at how useful this method is. I can also admit that I’m very ambitious and strong willed; I

It's difficult to say which career I would have chosen if I hadn't had success in the world of skiing. A professional athlete dedicates himself to sport from the time he is a child, before he even thinks about what kind of career to choose --and you don't become a professional skier from one day to the next. I've always been interested in economics.

You come from Gais, a little town in Val Pusteria at the entrance to Valle Aurina. How do you prefer to spend your free time when you are at home? In spring, when the ski season is over I enjoy skiing with my friends in Speikboden or participate in a tour on skis. When I'm at home in this wonderful mountain area I like to stay with my family, whom, unfortunately, I don't see enough because of my commitments. In the summer I like to go on excursions from one peak to another in Valle Aurina, where I am in close contact with pure and uncontaminated nature that's hard to find in other places.

What do you miss most from home, or rather, what excites you when you get back home after a competition? The thing I love the most is to sleep in my own bed. Six months ago I got my own apartment and I enjoy every moment I spend there. Naturally I miss the Tyrolean food, especially goulash with canederli. (dumplings) that my mom makes. When you are traveling for months, you appreciate home cooking even more.

Which three attractions of South Tyrol are absolutely a must? The Riva waterfall in Valle Aurina right near my town is a breathtaking wonder of nature that shouldn't be overlooked. “Experience” the Dolomites on skis, cross country or on snowshoes. I’m often in the mountains around the world but the Dolomites are the most spectacular I’ve ever seen. And last but not least, taste the canederli: dumplings with speck and the typical “Kaiserschmarrn” in a mountain hut. I would tell everyone not to miss these delicious treats.

As a model for a major Italian undergarment firm, you are very visible in the national media. How do you manage the contrast of your private life in a peaceful little town and life in the fast lane of the fashion world? After last year’s successes, the world of fashion opened many doors for me. In addition to the underwear line that is my main sponsor, I was approached by Armani, and that’s why I was in Milan very often last summer. I have to admit that the world of fashion intrigues me and has given me the opportunity to meet many new people. I find it’s a great way to pass my time when I’m not training.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Still involved in sports? I think I will try to continue professional skiing and to be competitive as long as possible. I think it’s less plausible that I would work in the sports world, for example as a coach, even after my skiing career. Quite a few athletes that have been on the scene for many years have distanced themselves from this world. My objective is to continue to build a base for a future for the next ten years and to take advantage of every chance I have. You know the world moves forward and you can’t afford to stop. >

Christof Innerhofer ist am 17. Dezember 1984 in Bruneck geboren und steht bereits seit seinem 3. Lebensjahr auf Skiern. Trotz seines jungen Alters gehört der Abfahrt-und Super-GSpezialist im internationalen Skizirkus schon zu den „erfahrenen Hasen“. Mit 24 Jahren gewann der Gaisinger sein erstes Weltcuprennen, die Abfahrt auf der Pista Stelvio in Bormio. Weitere Top-Ten-Platzierungen folgten prompt: im Februar und März 2009 erzielte er zwei dritte Plätze und in der SuperKombination, 2008/09 schloss er den Super-G-Weltcup als Fünfter ab. In der vorigen Saison dann der absolute Durchbruch: Nach einem dritten Platz in der Abfahrt von Bormio, gewann Innerhofer bei der FIS Alpine Ski WM 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen gleich 3 Medaillen: Gold im Super-G, Silber in der Superkombination und Bronze in der Abfahrt. Christof Innerhofer ist somit einer von zwei Italienern (Zeno Colò im Jahr 1951) und der einzige Südtiroler, der bei einer Ski-Weltmeisterschaft gleich drei Medaillen gewann. Eine Woche nach der WM heimste er einen weiteren Weltcupsieg in Bansko ein.

Christof Innerhofer è nato a Brunico il 17 dicembre 1984 e già all’età di 3 anni ha iniziato a stare sugli sci. Nonstante la giovane età è già campione del mondo di supergigante. A soli 24 anni è salito sul gradino più alto del podio della Coppa del Mondo che si è tenuta a Bormio sulla pista Stelvio. Poi sono seguiti altri piazzamenti tra i primi 10: in febbraio e marzo 2009 ha ottenuto due terzi posti nella supercombinata, nel 2008/09 si è classificato quinto nella Coppa del Mondo di supergigante. Nella scorsa stagione si sono susseguiti successi uno dopo l’altro: dopo un terzo podio in discesa libera a Bormio Innerhofer nei mondiali che si sono tenuti a GarmischPartenkirchen ha portato a casa ben 3 medaglie: l’oro nel supergigante, l’argento nella supercombinata e il bronzo in discesa libera. Con questa tripletta ha eguagliato il primato italiano del maggior numero di medaglie in un'unica rassegna iridata, tre come Zeno Colò ad Aspen nel 1950, anche se allora si trattò di due ori ed un argento. Una settimana dopo i mondiali Innerhofer ha vinto anche una gara di Coppa del Mondo a Bansko.

Christof Innerhofer was born in Brunico 17 December 1984 and he was on skis at the tender age of three. Today, even at his young age he is the world champion of the Super G. At just 24 years of age he took his place on top of the podium in the World Cup that was held at Bormio on the Stelvio slopes. Other awards followed, all in the top ten: In February and March 2009 he snatched two 3rd places in the supercombi, in 2008/09 he was 5th in the World Cup Ranked of the Super G . Last season he had one success after another: after a 3rd place in downhill freestyle in Bormio, in the world competition held in GarmischPartenkirchen, Innerhofer brought home 3 medals: a gold in the Super G, a silver in the supercombinata and a bronze in the freestyle downhill. With this triple crown he equaled the record of medals won in a single competition: three, like Zeno Colò in Aspen in 1950, (altough Colò won two gold and one silver). A week after the world competition, Innerhofer also won a World Cup competition at Bansko. ◊

Hunderte Menschen beobachteten das Spektakel am Kronplatz, wie der neue Ferrari mit einem Hubschrauber des italienischen Heeres eingeflogen und anschließend präsentiert wird. Die offizielle Pressekonferenz zur Vorstellung der „International Media Test Drive FF“ fand am 11. März 2011 im Rathaus von Bruneck statt. >

Der rote Flitzer „Ferrari Four“ ist das erste, serienmäßig produzierte Stufenheckauto aus Maranello, welches zudem einen Vierradantrieb hat, und wie der Name bereits offenbart, Platz für vier Personen bietet - gleich drei Innovationen auf einem Streich. Der rote Italiener soll dabei um fast die Hälfte leichter sein, als herkömmliche Vierradantriebe. Ferrari hat ein neues Allradsystem, das sogenannte 4RM entwickelt, welches die Kraft elektronisch steuert und weitgehend variabel verteilt. Zuletzt wird durch das Setzen auf das Shooting Brake Konzept ein urlaubstaugliches Kofferraumvolumen von 450 Litern geboten, welches dank einer umklappbaren Rückbank sogar noch auf 800 Liter erweitert wird. Mit dem Begriff Shooting Brake Konzept bezeichnet man eine besondere Karosserie-Variante eines Automobils, nämlich ein Coupé mit Steilheck, das mit sei-

halb des Firmengeländes in Maranello vorstellt, sondern auch weil Bruneck und der Kronplatz außergewöhnliche Orte für eine Ferrari-Präsentation darstellen. Die diversen kleinen Ortschaften des Pustertals und die umliegenden Hochtäler bieten kurvige Bergstraßen - das Optimum für verschiedenste Testfahrten mit dem revolutionären allradbetriebenen Gefährt. Auf 165 km Passstraßen mit 1000 m Höhenunterschied, umrahmt von beschaulichen Dolomitenlandschaften und schwindelerregenden Ausblicken wurde das Können des neuen FF’s erforscht. Am Kronplatz wurde der rote PS-Hengst auf 107 Pistenkilometern ausgiebig getestet. Für die rund 200 internationalen Medienvertreter standen acht der eleganten Sportwagen zur Verfügung. Die Front wird von einer schmalen Kühleröffnung geprägt, die Scheinwerfer sind schmal nach hinten gezogen, in der Heckschürze befinden sich zwei Doppelauspuffrohre sowie ein Diffusor. Der Diffusor ist ein Bauteil, das Gasund Flüssigkeitsströmungen verlangsamt und dessen Druck somit erhöht, kinetische Energie wird in Druckenergie umgewandelt. Entworfen wurde der Shootingstar von der italienischen Designschmiede Pininfarina. Das über 80 Jahre alte Unternehmen Pininfarina aus Italien zählt heute zu einem der Hauptlieferanten für Design und Technik vielfältiger Nischenprodukte und –verfahren im Automobilsektor. Die internationale Medienpräsenz bei der Vorstellung des spektakulären Viersitzers war enorm, nicht nur weil zum ersten Mal überhaupt Ferrari einen Neuwagen außer-

feger fanden technische Briefings und Pressekonferenzen auf dem Brunecker Rathausplatz statt. 185 km lang wurde er auf Biegen und Brechen getestet, wobei das Gaspedal wohl am meisten gelitten hat. Von Bruneck startend sausten die Ferrari-Frischlinge nach Terenten, von wo es weiter in die Brixner Altstadt ging. Anschließend fuhr die Gruppe weiter in die Hauptstadt Bozen. Die acht Sportlimousinen schlenzten sich durch die Berge weiter über Kastelruth, Hauptgemeinde der Ferienregion Seiser Alm, Gröden und durch das Gadertal wieder zurück nach Bruneck. Es gab auch stets die Möglichkeit dem Flitzer die Pferdestärken im Schnee, auf einer eigens präparierten Piste am Kronplatz, zu entlocken. Fazit: in 3,7 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 und ein erstklassiger Motorklang. >

Tra le piste innevate, dalla nebbiolina bianca sollevata dalle pale di un elicottero militare si scorge il luccichio della carrozzeria rossa. Centinaia di persone hanno assistito lo scorso marzo allo spettacolo che si è tenuto a Plan de Corones e ha visto come protagonista la nuova Ferrari che, per la presentazione alla stampa specializzata, è stata trasportata sulle alte cime dell’Alto Adige con un elicottero dell’esercito italiano. La conferenza stampa per la presentazione dell’“International Media Test Drive FF” ha avuto luogo l’11 marzo presso il municipio di Brunico. Il bolide rosso Ferrari Four è la prima vettura di serie del Cavallino Rampante ad avere quattro posti e quattro ruote motrici ma è soprattutto un modello che si stacca profondamente dal passato riuscendo a conciliare, per la prima volta, prestazioni estreme con la fruibilità di una vera GT con un design fortemente innovativo. Prima di ogni test, si sono tenuti briefing tecnici e conferenze stampa presso il municipio di Brunico. Il tragitto di 185 km, durante i quali il pedale del gas è stato quasi sempre schiacciato al massimo, partiva da Terento per poi passare da Bressanone e Bolzano. Le otto limousine sportive hanno sfrecciato tra le montagne in direzione Castelrotto, capoluogo delle Alpi di Siusi, in Val Gardena attraverso il passo Gardena e poi sono rientrate a Brunico. E’ stata anche preparata una pista con neve e ghiaccio sulla cima di Plan de Corones per provare la nuova 4x4 anche in condizioni estreme. L’ultima nata di casa Maranello ha regalato prestazioni da sportiva estrema: l’accelerazione da 0-100 Km/h in 3,7 secondi. >

The sound of a helicopter accompanied by the roar of an engine breaks the silence and whistling wind between the mountain peaks. Amid the snowcapped slopes, a white mist is lifted by the blades of the military helicopter and a shiny red chassis emerges. Hundreds of people watched the spectacle last March in Pian de Corones and saw the new Ferrari, appearing for the press, as it was transported from the soaring peaks of South Tyrol by a helicopter from the Italian armed forces. The press conference presented the “International Media Test Drive FF” on March 11th at the Brunico city hall. The striking red Ferrari Four is the first car of the Ferrari series to have 4 seats and 4 wheel drive but most of all is a model breaking from the past: combining, for the first time, extreme handling with the user-friendliness of a real GT and a sharp innovative design. The new 4WD system patented by Ferrari weighs 50% less than the competitors, does not alter weight distribution on

The FF was tested on 107 km of track in Plan de Corones. There were eight superb cars available for the 200 journalists present and each week 3 road tests were offered. Before each test there was a technical briefing and press conference at the Brunico city hall. The route of 185 km, during which the accelerator was nearly always floored, left from Terento to Bressanone then on to Bolzano. The eight sporty supercars sped through the mountains towards Castelrotto, the main town of Alpe di Siusi, in Val Gardena through the Gardena Pass and then returned to Brunico. A track was prepared with snow and ice on the peak of Plan de Corones to try out the new 4x4 in severe conditions. The newest addition to the house of Ferrari offered a performance worthy of extreme sports: from zero to 100 Km/h in 3.7 seconds. ◊

Als einer der bedeutendsten Zeichner und Radierer der europäischen Kunstszene, gehört Markus Vallazza zum illustren Kreis jener Südtiroler Künstler, die international bekannt sind und hohes Ansehen genießen. Geboren 1936 im Grödental und ansässig in Bozen, blickt er auf ein bewegtes Leben zurück, voller Hoffnungen und Illusionen, was jedoch seine Verbundenheit zum humanistischen Erbe nie in Frage stellt. Während der Weltwirtschaftskrise in einer sonnenarmen Talschlucht am Fuße des Langkofels in den Dolomiten geboren und aufgewachsen, sehnte sich Markus Vallazza schon in jungen Jahren nach der Sonne und der weiten Welt. Unter der Kälte hat er in vielfacher Hinsicht gelitten, weshalb er später jeglicher Art von Wärme zugetan war. Gemeinsam mit seinen Brüdern begann er schon früh mit dem Zeichnen. Die ersten, erhalten gebliebenen Zeichenversuche datieren um 1946. Unter der Aufsicht und Anführung seines älteren Stiefbruders Adolf, zeichnete er sonntags, im Anschluss an den obligatorischen Kirchgang, nach Vorlagen großer Meister wie Leonardo da Vinci, Cranach oder Dürer. Außerdem aber kopierten die Gebrüder Vallazza Porträts ihres Urgroßonkels Josef Moroder-Lusenberg, welche die Wände des Hauses schmückten. Schon damals träumte Markus Vallazza von einer Künstlerlaufbahn, die ihm von vielen Seiten vorausgesagt wurde. Doch Unstimmigkeiten mit dem Vater und dem Stiefbruder, ließen erste Zweifel aufkommen. Nach der Devise „Hungerkünstler brauchen wir keine im Haus und schon gar nicht angesichts der prekären Nachkriegslage“, sollten die Kinder bodenständige Berufe erlernen. Mit elf Jahren wurde er in das Priesterseminar „Johanneum“ eingeschrie-

ben, ein in katholischen Großfamilien vorbestimmtes Schicksal. Nach nur zwei Jahren entließ man ihn allerdings und zwar mit fragwürdigen Begründungen, die ihn nachträglich veranlasst haben, nie wieder eine Kirche zu betreten, was wiederum innerhalb der Familie zu großen Konflikten führte. Die Lehr- und Wanderjahre begannen mit verschiedenen Gelegenheitsarbeiten, welche alle mehr oder weniger scheitern sollten. Als Schlosserlehrling beim Vater, „Herrgottschnitzer“ beim genannten Bruder, als Zeichner von Kircheneinrichtungen beim Onkel, als Laienschauspieler, als Musikeleve auf der Geige und schließlich als Schriftsteller, welcher er auf Biegen und Brechen werden wollte. Die ersten Gedichte entstanden 1959 und auch später schrieb Vallazza Theaterstücke wie „Ikaros oder die Leidenschaft des Gewissens“. Doch als gebürtiger Ladiner und nach seiner Aussage, als ein „oftmals in drei Sprachen dilettierender Autodidakt“, kamen bei ihm immer wieder Zweifel an seinen Werken auf. 1956 bis 1957 war er Gasthörer am „Instituto d'Arte Porta Romana“ in Florenz bei Prof. Renzo Grazzini. Wie auch er, ist Vallazza ungeachtet der Tatsache, dass ab den sechziger Jahren die abstrakte Kunst auf dem Vormarsch war, der Darstellung des Menschen bis heute treu geblieben. Nach der Rückkehr von einer Studienreise aus Paris, bei der er auch Alberto Giacometti kennenlernte, begann er eine Lehrtätigkeit als Kunsterzieher an der Kunstschule in seinem Heimatdorf St. Ulrich. Er heiratete und wurde Vater von zwei Töchtern. Den Beruf als Lehrer, welchen er über 10 Jahre ausübte, betrachtete er immer als Gewinn und kam nachträglich zur Einsicht, dass er als Lehrer offensichtlich mehr gelernt als gelehrt

hatte. 1966 entstanden in der Werkstatt des Künstlers Robert Scherer in Brixen die ersten Radierungen, 1970 wird er Mitglied der Wiener Secession. Ab dem 30sten Lebensjahr bahnten sich künstlerisch die ersten Erfolge an, doch Markus Vallazza unterrichtete noch weitere 5 Jahre, bis er 1971 seine Lehrtätigkeit aufgab, um als freischaffender Künstler zu arbeiten. Es folgten Arbeitsaufenthalte im renommierten „Laboratorio d'arte grafica“ von Franco Cioppi in Rom, die Übersiedlung nach Salzburg und Berlin und ab 1982 Aufenthalte in Wien, Südtirol und Augsburg. Erst 1985 bezog er ein Atelier in Bozen und arbeitete von nun an abwechselnd in Wien und Bozen. Er begründete gemeinsam mit Paul Flora und dem Verein der Bücherwürmer in Lana den Internationalen Norbert C. Kaser-Preis für Literatur, erhält große Aufträge und 1990 wird ihm der Ehrentitel „Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana“ verliehen. In den neunziger Jahren arbeitete er an seinem vielleicht bekanntesten Werk, der bildnerischen Umsetzung der „Göttlichen Komödie“ von Dante Alighieri, welches er mit dem dritten Zyklus im Jahr 2000 abschloss. 1998 erhielt er das „Ehrenzeichen des Landes Tirol“, 2010 den „Walthervon der Vogelweide-Preis“. Zeit seinen Lebens, ist Markus Vallazza viel gereist, hat sich in verschiedensten Orten der Welt zeitweilig zeichnend aufgehalten, wie z.B. in Rom, Paris, London, Salzburg und Wien und dabei viele Künstlerpersönlichkeiten wie Kokoschka, Henry Moore und andere kennengelernt, die ihn stets bestärkt haben seine Arbeiten fortzuführen. Die „alte Heimat“ Südtirol hat er allerdings nie aus den Augen verloren und ist immer wieder hierher zurückgekehrt. >

Markus Vallazza, uno dei più importanti disegnatori e incisori della scena artistica europea, appartiene all’illustre cerchia di artisti altoatesini conosciuti a livello mondiale. Nato in val Gardena nel 1936 e residente a Bolzano, ha alle spalle una vita movimentata, piena di speranze e illusioni, il che non ha però mai fatto vacillare il suo attaccamento al patrimonio umanistico. Nato e cresciuto durante il periodo della crisi economica mondiale, in una vallata scarsamente soleggiata ai piedi del Sassolungo nelle Dolomiti, Markus Vallazza già da giovane sentiva la mancanza del sole e del mondo al di fuori della vallata. Il freddo era per lui fonte di molteplici sofferenze ed è per questo che più tardi è stato attratto da ogni fonte di calore. Insieme ai suoi fratelli, ha iniziato a disegnare molto presto. I primi abbozzi di disegno sino ad oggi conservati risalgono al 1946. Sotto la supervisione e la guida del fratellastro più grande Adolf, la domenica, dopo l’obbligatoria partecipazione alla messa, disegnava prendendo come modelli grandi maestri quali Leonardo da Vinci, Cranach o Dürer. Capitava anche che i fratelli Vallazza copiassero dei ritratti del loro proprozio Josef Moroder – Lusenberg, ereditati dal padre e appesi a decorazione delle mura di casa. Già allora, Markus Vallazza, sognava un percorso artistico, che in molti avevano previsto per lui. Tuttavia, delle

incomprensioni con il citato fratellastro e con il padre fecero sorgere i primi dubbi. Secondo la concezione “Non abbiamo bisogno di artisti da sfamare in casa, soprattutto di fronte alla situazione precaria del dopoguerra”, i figli dovevano apprendere dei mestieri attinenti alla realtà quotidiana. All’età di undici anni fu iscritto al seminario per sacerdoti “Johanneum”, sulla scia del destino caratterizzava che le famiglie numerose cattoliche. Dopo soli due anni però fu dimesso con motivazioni discutibili che lo spinsero in seguito a non rimettere più piede in una chiesa, cosa che all’interno della famiglia suscitò grandi conflitti. Gli anni di formazione e peregrinazioni iniziarono con diversi lavori occasionali, più o meno tutti destinati a fallire: apprendista fabbro presso il padre, intagliatore di figure sacre presso il citato fratello, disegnatore di arredamenti da chiesa presso lo zio, attore non professionista, allievo musicista di violino e infine scrittore, professione quest’ultima che voleva svolgere a tutti i costi. Le prime poesie risalgono al 1959 e anche più tardi. Vallazza scrisse ad esempio pezzi teatrali quali “Ikaros oder die Leidenschaft des Gewissens” (Ikaros o la passione della coscienza). Tuttavia, essendo ladino di nascita e in seguito alla sua affermazione con la quale si dichiarò “un autodidatta dilettante spesso di tre lingue” sorsero ripetutamente in lui

dei dubbi nei confronti delle proprie opere. Dal 1956 al 1957 frequentò l’Istituto d’Arte Porta Romana a Firenze come studente libero del prof. Renzo Grazzini. Come lui, anche Vallazza, nonostante a partire dagli anni sessanta stesse prendendo piede l’arte astratta, è rimasto fedele fino ad oggi alla rappresentazione dell’uomo. Al rientro da un viaggio di studio a Parigi, in occasione del quale fece anche la conoscenza di Alberto Giacometti, iniziò un’attività di insegnamento come educatore artistico presso l’istituto artistico del suo paese d’origine, Ortisei. Si sposò e divenne padre di due figlie. Considerò la professione di insegnante, che svolse per oltre dieci anni, un arricchimento e più tardi si rese conto che come insegnante aveva imparato di più di quanto aveva insegnato. Nel 1966 nella bottega dell’artista Robert Scherer a Bressanone creò le prime incisioni, nel 1970 entrò a fare parte della Secessione Viennese. A partire dal trentesimo anno di vita arrivarono i primi successi artistici, tuttavia Markus Vallazza continuò a insegnare per altri 5 anni fino a che nel 1971 abbandonò la sua attività di insegnante per lavorare come libero artista. Seguirono soggiorni lavorativi nel rinomato “Laboratorio d’arte grafica” di Franco Cioppi a Roma, il trasferimento a Salisburgo e Berlino e dal 1982 soggiornò a Vienna, in Alto Adige e ad Augusta (Augsburg). Solo nel 1985 si insediò in un atelier a Bolzano per lavorare da allora in alternanza tra Vienna e Bolzano. Insieme a Paul Flora e all’associazione “Verein der Bücherwürmer” di Lana ha istituito il premio internazionale per la letteratura Norbert C. Kaser, ha ottenuto grandi incarichi e nel 1990 gli è stato conferito il titolo onorario di “Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana”. Negli anni novanta ha realizzato la sua opera forse più famosa, la rappresentazione figurativa della Divina Commedia di Dante Alighieri, portata a termine con il terzo ciclo nell’anno 2000. Nel 1998 ha ricevuto la croce al merito del Land Tirolo, nel 2010 il premio Walther von der Vogelweide.Nella sua vita Markus Vallazza ha viaggiato molto, ha soggiornato disegnando nei più svariati posti del mondo, come ad esempio a Roma, Parigi, Londra, Salisburgo e Vienna. In quelle occasioni ha conosciuto molti artisti quali Kokoschka, Henry Moore e altri, che l’hanno sempre incoraggiato a portare avanti i suoi lavori. Non ha però mai perso di vista la sua “vecchia patria”, l’Alto Adige, e vi è sempre ritornato.

Markus Vallazza, one of the most important painters, illustrators and engravers of the European scene, is part of the circle of South Tyrolean artists known worldwide. Born in Val Gardena in 1936 and resident of Bolzano, he has lived a rich life, full of hopes and illusions, but he never wavered from his love of humanist heritage. Born during a period of world economic crisis, in a sun-starved valley at the foot of Sassolungo in the Dolomites, Markus Vallazza, already as a youngster, felt the lack of sun and the world outside his valley. The cold was a font of suffering for him and for this reason he later was attracted to every source of heat. Along with his brother, he started to draw at an early age. The first draft of a drawing that has been saved dates back to 1946. Under the supervision and guide of his older half brother Adolf, on Sunday, after the obligatory participation in Mass, Markus drew, using the great masters as models, like Leonardo da Vinci, Cranach or Dürer. It happened that the Vallazza brothers copied the portraits of their great- great grand uncle Josef Moroder – Lusenberg, inherited from his father and hung as a decoration in their house. Already then, Markus Vallazza dreamed of an artistic career, that many had foreseen for him. Nevertheless, misunderstandings with this half brother and with his father created the first doubts. According to the assertion, We don’t need famous artists in the house, especially in this precarious postwar era”, the brothers had to learn a trade to make ends meet. When he was 11 years old he was enrolled in the seminary “Johanneum”, on the tails of a destiny that was typical of large Catholic families. After just two years he was expelled for unclear reasons and that caused him to never set foot in a church for the rest of his life, something that caused great conflict in his family. The years of learning and moving around started with different odd jobs, more or less all destined to fail, as an apprentice blacksmith with his father, a carver of sacred figures with his artist brother, designer of furniture for a church for his uncle, novice actor, violin student and writer, a profession that he wanted to pursue at all costs. His first poetry dates back to 1959. Vallazza wrote theatrical works like “Ikaros oder die Leidenschaft des Gewissens” (Ikarus or the passion of knowledge), Nevertheless, being Ladin born and later his affirmation where he says he is "a self taught novice, often in three languages", he continually doubted his own works.

From 1956 to 1957 he attended the Porta Romana Institute of Art in Florence as a free student of Renzo Grazzini. Even though in the early 60’s abstract art was taking hold, he, as Grazzini, resisted and remained faithful of his representation of man. After a study trip to Paris, where he also made the acquaintance of Alberto Giacometti, he began an activity of teaching as artistic educator at an art institute in his home town, Ortisei. There he married and fathered two children. He considered his decade-long profession of teacher an enrichment and later realised that as a teacher he actually learned more than he taught. In 1966 in the shop of artist Robert Scherer in Bressanone he created his first etchings, in 1970 he became part of the Vienna Secession. From his 30th birthday he began to have his first artistic successes, nevertheless Markus Vallazza continued to teach for another 5 years until 1971 when he left his role as teacher to work as a freelance artist. Followed working stays in the famous “Laboratorio d’arte grafica” of Franco Cioppi in Roma, his move to

Salzburg and Berlin and in 1982 he stayed in Vienna, in South Tyrol and in Augusta (Augsburg). Only in 1985 did he open an atelier in Bolzano to work between Vienna and Bolzano. With Paul Flora and the association “Verein der Bücherwürmer” of Lana he instituted the Norbert C. Kaser international prize for literature, he held high positions and in 1990 he was conferred with the honorary title of “Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana”. In the 1990’s he created his most famous work, a figurative representation of the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, brought to a close with the third cycle in the year 2000. In 1998 he received the cross of merit of Land Tirolo, in 2010 the Walther von der Vogelweide prize. In his life Makus Vallazza traveled extensively, he stayed ad drew in the many diverse places, for example Rome, Paris, London, Salzburg and Vienna. On those occasions he met many artists: Kokoschka, Henry Moore and others, who always encouraged him to continue with his work. Yet he never lost sight of his homeland of South Tyrol and he always returned.

Anfang Dezember, draußen wird es bitterkalt, wird manchem, der in der Stube sitzt, gruselig. Es ist die Zeit der bärtigen und maskierten Gestalten. Die Krampusse ziehen um die Häuser. Froh kann man sein, dass alles nur gespielt ist, wenn auch erschreckend echt. Wem man so alles begegnen kann, wenn man von Anfang Dezember bis Aschermittwoch in Südtirol weilt – lassen Sie sich überraschen. Und keine Sorge: es gibt auch stille Bräuche zu entdecken.

Quando in Alto Adige inizia l’inverno ed il suggestivo periodo dell‘Avvento oscure presenze prendono forma. A inizio dicembre, quando l’aria esterna è frizzante potrà capitare che nella stube siedano inquietanti figure. Si tratta dei krampus, i diavoli travestiti che in questo periodo dell’anno si aggirano tra le vie dei paesi. Non temete, è solo una tradizione. Anche se le loro sembianze sono davvero raccapriccianti. In Alto Adige, da inizio dicembre fino al martedì grasso potrete incombere in una delle tante tradizioni, ma non scoraggiatevi non sono tutte così inquietanti.

These are the krampus, the devils in disguise who wander through the streets of the villages this time of year. Don’t worry, it's just a tradition, although their appearance is very frightening. DER KRAMPUS ZIEHT UMS HAUS Der Kalender zeigt den 5. Dezember und wir wünschen uns ganz schnell den 6. herbei. Der Sechste ist dem heiligen Nikolaus gewidmet; dem netten, weißhaarigen. Er ist als Überbringer von Gaben und Geschenken bekannt. Kinder lieben ihn. Während der Nikolaus die braven Kinder beschenkt, werden die unartigen vom Krampus bestraft. Und manch ein Erwachsener erinnert sich an seine Kinderzeit und es läuft ihm ein Schauer über den Rücken. Kein Wunder: Mit einer teuflischen Maske, in pelzbesetzter Kleidung,

ßeren Gruppen auf. Der Name Krampus leitet sich vom Mittelhochdeutschen Krampen (Kralle) oder vom Bayerischen Krampn (etwas Lebloses oder Verdorrtes) ab. Er trägt eine geschnitzte Holzmaske aus Zirben- oder Lindenholz, mit (echten) Ziegenbock-, Steinbock- oder Widderhörnern. In der Gruppe wirkt das alles noch viel unheimlicher. Krampusläufe findet man in ganz Südtirol. Einer der bekanntesten: Der Lauf der Krampusse in Toblach. Wir verlassen das Pustertal und machen einen Sprung ins Sarntal; in eines der wenigen Refugien der

meist mit einer Rute in der Hand, besucht er die Häuser. Früher gingen sie getrennte Wege: der Schwarze Zottelmann und die sanftmütige Bischofsfigur mit dem weißen Rauschebart. Heutzutage erscheinen aber beide Gestalten üblicherweise gemeinsam am Abend des 5. Dezember – manchmal auch am Sechsten. Der Krampustag ist sozusagen dr Erschte (also: der Erste) Tag, an dem man typisches Südtiroler Winterbrauchtum erleben kann – hautnah. Und wenn man an diesem ersten Tag – der fast immer ein Abend ist – eine Gänsehaut bekommt, liegt das sicher nicht nur an den Temperaturen. Der Krampus ähnelt dem Knecht Ruprecht, den wir außerhalb des Alpenraums besser kennen. Es bestehen aber Unterschiede zwischen beiden Figuren: Während Knecht Ruprecht einzeln (oder mit dem Hl. Nikolaus) auftaucht, treten die Krampusse meist in grö-

stillen und ursprünglichen Vorweihnachtszeit. Hier geht es im Alpenadvent etwas besinnlicher zu. Man beruft sich auf althergebrachte, weihnachtliche Traditionen – zum Beispiel auf das Klöckeln. Dieser alte Adventsbrauch war früher im germanischen Mythos der Sommersonnenwende im gesamten Alpenraum bekannt, konnte aber bis heute nur im Sarntal lebendig gehalten werden. Weiß vermummte und maskierte Gestalten in Tracht ziehen durch die Dunkelheit mit Musik, Lärm, Bockshorntuten, Schellen und Getöse durch die Dörfer im Sarntal und „klocken“ (klopfen) an die Haustüren. Sie singen das „Klöckellied“ – „Heint ischt uns eine heiligschte Klöckelsnocht“ – und bitten damit um milde Gaben. Hat man ihnen etwas gegeben, bedanken sich die Klöckler mit einem Danklied und wünschen „a glickselige güete Nocht und a freidnreichs nuis Jour“.

IL KRAMPUS SI AGGIRA TRA LE CASE Sul calendario oggi è il 5 dicembre, speriamo passi in fretta e arrivi presto il 6. Il 6 dicembre è la festa di San Nicolò, il simpatico vecchino con la sua folta barba bianca che è adorato dai bambini perché porta loro doni e caramelle. San Nicolò sarà generoso di regali e dolci con i bambini che sono stati bravi e che si sono comportati bene, mentre quelli che hanno disobbedito verranno puniti dai krampus. Se ripensiamo alla nostra infanzia, ancora oggi si può la pacca

o dal tedesco della Baviera “Krampn”, in riferimento ad un essere dell’oltretomba. Generalmente porta una maschera di legno di pino cembro o di tiglio con autentiche corna di capra, stambecco o ariete. Vederli così tutti insieme in gruppo è ancora più spaventoso. In tutto l’Alto Adige potrete assistere alle sfilate dei Krampus, la più famosa è sicuramente quella di Dobbiaco. Lasciamoci la Val Pusteria alle spalle per passare a usanze e tradizioni della Val Sarentino, dove il

salire un brivido lungo la schiena. Non sono affatto affascinanti questi krampus: si tratta di uomini che indossano una maschera diabolica, pelli di capra, corna e campanacci e armati di fruste passano di casa in casa. In passato, sfilava prima San Nicolò e poi, al tramontare del sole, entravano in scena i diavoli. Oggi, invece, San Nicolò ed i krampus sfilano assieme la sera del 5 dicembre, a volte anche il 6 dicembre. La giornata del krampus è la prima delle tradizioni invernali altoatesine. Se durante questa giornata Vi verrà la pelle d’oca, non sarà di certo causata dal freddo. Fuori dall’arco alpino, una figura similiare al krampus è quella di Knecht Ruprecht. C’è però una differenza sostanziale, poiché Knecht Ruprecht arriva da solo (o eventualmente in compagnia di San Nicolò), mentre i krampus sono sempre in gruppi piuttosto consistenti. Si presume che la parola krampus derivi dal termine tedesco dell’area mitteleuropea “Kralle/artiglio”

periodo dell’Avvento si trascorre in un’atmosfera tranquilla e serena. Qui troviamo antiche usanze natalizie come ad esempio la festa “Klöckeln”. Questa tradizione, una volta diffusa in tutte le zone dell’arco alpino ed ora conservatasi solo in Val Sarentino, risale all’antico mito germanico del solstizio d’inverno. Quando cala la sera, personaggi che personificano la lotta tra inverno e primavera con bianche maschere fatte a mano e con il costume della Val Sarentino sfilano tra le strade dei paesi andando di casa in casa accompagnati da musica, grida, suoni di campane ed un gran frastuono. Cantano le loro antiche canzoni come la “Klöckellied” “oggi è la sacra notte in cui si bussa alle porte” che servono di auspicio per un buon raccolto. Se gli abitanti offrono loro qualcosa, vengono ringraziati con una canzone che augura loro una notte serena ed un felice anno nuovo.

THE KRAMPUS GO FROM HOUS TO HOUSE On the calendar, today is December 5th, and everyone is hoping the 6th will come soon. The 6th is St. Nicholas’ Day, a sweet old man with a bushy white beard who is adored by children because he brings them gifts and sweets. St. Nicholas will be generous with gifts and sweets with well- behaved children, while those who were naughty will be punished by the krampus. If we think back to our childhood, we will definitely remember that sensation of shiver running down the spine. The krampus are not beautiful: they are men who wear devilish masks, goat skins, horns and bells, and who go from house to house armed with whips. In the past, first there was a St. Nicholas parade but

the Bavarian German "Krampn" in reference to a being of the underworld. They usually wear a mask of Swiss pine with authentic horns of a goat, alpine ibex or ram. Seeing them all together in a group is even more frightening. In South Tyrol you can watch the parade of krampus, of which the most famous is undoubtedly in Dobbiaco. Leaving Val Pusteria behind, we will move on to the customs and traditions of Val Sarentino, where the Advent season is quiet and serene. Here we can find ancient Christmas customs such as "Klöckeln". This tradition, once widespread in all areas of the Alps and now preserved only in Val Sarentino, dates back to the ancient Germanic myth of the winter solstice. When

WEIHNACHTEN STEHT VOR DER TÜR Ein neuerlicher Blick auf den Kalender sagt uns: Wir nähern uns den Rauhnächten und damit der wirklich wundersamen Weihnachtszeit. Am Silvesterabend soll man am Zaun des Nachbarn rütteln, damit im neuen Jahr dessen Hühner zum Eierlegen auf das eigene Grundstück kommen. In der Nacht zum neuen Jahr soll man in der ersten halben Stunde nach Mitternacht alle Türen und

sinnlich geht es auf den Südtiroler Weihnachtsmärkten zu. Hier legen wir eine Pause ein und erholen uns von Krampussen, Klöcklern und alle den anderen sagenhaften Charakteren. Nach dem ersten Glühwein ist der Spuk rasch vergessen. Im Lichterglanz – bei Glühwein und Punsch – wird einem warm ums Herz. Auf den Christkindlmärkten in Bozen, Meran, Brixen, Bruneck oder Sterzing, aber auch in kleineren Gemeinden wie im mittelalterliche Glurns, kommt jetzt heimelige Weihnachtsstimmung auf. Für Atmosphäre sorgen

IL NATALE È ALLE PORTE Dando un’ulteriore occhiata al calendario ci accorgiamo che ci stiamo avvicinando sempre più al Natale. Superstizioni risalenti all’epoca prima di Cristo e antiche usanze si ritrovano nelle 12 “Rauhnächte”, le 12 notti che che iniziano il 24 dicembre per terminare con il 5 gennaio. Nella notte di San Silvestro bisogna scuotere il recinto del vicino, in modo che nell’anno nuovo i suoi polli vengano a deporre le uova nel proprio terreno. Nella notte di Capodanno, nella prima mezz’ora dopo la mezzanotte bisogna chiudere porte e finestre, ad eccezione della porta sul retro dalla quale entrerà la benedizione. La mattina del primo giorno dell’anno bisogna intingere i “Lebkuchen” (biscotti al pan pepato) nella grappa per scongiurare il bruciore di stomaco. Bisogna crederci? Naturalmente, altrimenti non si può sperare di ottenere i risultati desiderati. Quando si parla di magica atmosfera e di serenità ci si riferisce ai

mercatini natalizi altoatesini. Qui possiamo concederci una pausa lontano da krampus, “Klöckern” e da tutti gli altri personaggi leggendari. Dopo la prima tazza di vin brulè, tutte quelle oscure apparizioni saranno subito dimenticate. Circondati da addobbi e luci, sorseggiando un buon brulé o un punch il Vostro cuore verrà subito riscaldato da questa magica atmosfera che potrete vivere nei mercatini di Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, Brunico e Vipiteno ma anche nella piccola località di Glorenza con il suo carattere medioevale. A contribuire all’atmosfera natalizia ci sono cori e bande con i loro canti natalizi. Passeggiando tra le casette di legno si possono ammirare gli oggetti di artigianato locale, tra cui decorazioni in vetro o in paglia per l’albero di natale e presepi artigianali, per poi passare alle specialità culinarie legate alla tradizione natalizia quali ad esempio i tipici “Lebzelten”.

DER WINTER GEHT DEM ENDE ZU Fasnacht, dr Leschte (also: der Letzte) damit ist der letzte Maschgratog (Faschingstag) in Südtirol gemeint. In Tramin, in der Faschingshochburg Südtirols, ist dieser Tag beinahe der höchste Feiertag des Jahres. Die Fastnacht ist – rein kalendarisch betrachtet – ein bewegliches Fest, zwischen dem 6. Jänner (Dreikönigstag) und dem Beginn der Fastenzeit. Bewegung ist vor allem aber auch ein gutes Stichwort, wenn man an das wilde Treiben in Tramin an der Weinstraße denkt. Am Unsinnigen Donnerstag nimmt das Spektakel sei-

nen Anfang; der Höhepunkt – der berühmte EgetmannUmzug – fällt auf den Dienstag, den letzten Tag. In Tramin wird fast das ganze Jahr auf den berühmten Egetmann-Umzug hingearbeitet. In monatelanger Arbeit werden Wagen geschmückt und mit allerlei Figuren versehen. Am Umzug selbst nehmen nur Männer teil, so will es der uralte Brauch. Der „Egetmann“ – die Hauptfigur des Umzuges – fährt mit seiner (männlichen) Braut ganz am Anfang des Zuges. Wichtige Figuren des Egetmann-Umzuges sind auch die sogenannten „Schnappviecher“, die – riesengroß und mit Fellen

bekleidet – nach den Zuschauern schnappen und sie mit ihren – Schnappern genannt – erschrecken. Der Egetmann-Umzug findet alle zwei Jahre statt; immer in einem ungeraden Jahr (wieder 2013). Am Ende unserer Winterreise lassen wir es noch mal richtig krachen: Beim Scheiben-schlagen im Vinschgau. Das Scheibenschlagen ist ein alter Südtiroler Brauch, den Winter zu vertreiben. Es findet immer am ersten Sonntag in der Fastenzeit statt – dem Funkensonntag. Wochen davor sind die jungen Burschen beschäftigt, die tellerrunde

Scheiben herzurichten – zumeist aus Birken- oder Föhrenholz – mit zirka 15 cm Durchmesser. Mittig haben die Scheiben ein Loch, in das die Haselrute gesteckt wird. Bei Einbruch der Dämmerung ziehen die Burschen mit ihren Scheiben zum Feuerplatz. Je eine Scheibe wird auf die Rute gesteckt und in der Glut des brennenden Holzstoßes angesengt. Es braucht einiges Geschick und viel Übung, die angeglühte Scheibe über die Scheibenbank weit hinauszuschleudern. Das Bild mehrerer, rotierender Flugscheiben im nächtlichen Himmel erinnert an ein Feuerwerk…

L’INVERNO CI SALUTA Quando in Alto Adige si parla di martedì grasso (quindi: l’ultimo) si intende l’ultimo giorno di carnevale. A Termeno, nel tempio del carnevale altoatesino, un paese circondato dai vigneti lungo la strada del vino, questo è il giorno più festeggiato dell’anno. Il martedì grasso è una festa che rispetta scrupolosamente il calendario e segna l’inizio della Quaresima. Il giovedì grasso inizia lo spettacolo, il cui punto cruciale sarà durante la sfilata dell’Egetmann che si terrà il martedì grasso, ultimo giorno di carnevale. A Termeno ci si prepara per questo corteo durante tutto l’anno. Per mesi vengono allestiti i carri con decorazioni e figure allegoriche. Alla sfilata partecipano solo uomini, così vuole la tradizione. L’ “Egetmann”, la figura centrale del corteo, apre la sfilata assieme alla sua sposa (un uomo travestito). Altre importanti figure che prendono parte a questa sfilata sono i “Schnappviecher”, una specie di coccodrillo senza orecchie, ricoperto di pelli, dotato di corna e grandi mandibole sempre pronto a cercare prede tra la folla. La sfilata di Egetmann ha luogo ogni due anni, sempre nell’anno dispari (la prossima nel 2013). E per concludere la nostra rassegna di usanze che si svolgono durante la

stagione invernale altoatesina parliamo della “Scheibenschlagen” della Val Venosta. Si tratta di un’antica tradizione per scacciare l’inverno. Si tiene la prima domenica di Quaresima. Durante le settimane precedenti la gioventù maschile è impegnata in una singolare attività: viene raccolto legno e paglia e vengono preparati pezzi di tronco di circa 15 cm, che vengono poi segati in dischi di due centimetri di larghezza con un foro nel centro. Vengono infine allestiti pali alti avvolti con paglia. All’imbrunire i giovani uomini, con i dischi in mano, si dirigono verso la “hex” (il palo in paglia), che poi verrà bruciata. Successivamente vengono accesi i dischi in legno e tenuti sul fuoco grazie a bastoni flessibili in noce. Quando la superficie dei dischi è bruciata, vengono ritirati dal fuoco e fatti ondeggiare in circolo fino a quando non diventano brace. Alla fine, il disco incandescente viene posato su una tavola o su una pietra e colpito bruscamente, spezzando così la forma originale in diversi e multiformi pezzi che volano via, formando una freccia luminosa nell’oscurità. Se l’effetto ottico è riuscito, allora si dice che questo disco se né è andato via bene.

GOODBYE, WINTER When you talk about Fat Tuesday—the last one, you mean the last day of Carnival. A mecca for the South Tyrolean carnival is in Termeno, a town surrounded by vineyards along the wine road, and this is the most celebrated day of the year. Fat Tuesday is a holiday that scrupulously respects the calendar marking the beginning of Lent. On Fat Thursday the show begins: the climax is the parade of the Egetmann that takes place on Fat Tuesday, the last day of Carnival. In Termeno this parade is planned for an entire year. For months, floats are prepared with decorations and allegorical figures. During the parade only men participate, as tradition dictates. The “Egetmann”, the central figure of the parade opens the parade together with his wife (a man dressed up). Other important figures taking part in this parade are the “Schnappviecher”, a sort of crocodile without ears, covered in fur, with horns and a large mouth always ready to find his prey in the crowd. The parade of Egetmann takes place every two years, in odd years (the next

one is in 2013). And to conclude our story about winter customs in South Tyrol we can't overlook the “Scheibenschlagen” (Disc whipping) of Val Venosta. It is an antique tradition to cast off winter, held the first Sunday of Lent. During the week before, the young men of the town are busy with a particular activity: they collect wood and straw and prepare a trunk of about 15 cm that is then sawed in discs of 2 cm in width with a hole in the centre. Then tall poles are put up covered in hay. At sundown, the young men with the discs in hand move toward the “hex” (the pole with hay) that is set on fire. Then the discs are lit and held to the fire with flexible sticks made of hazelnut. When the surface of the disc is burnt, they are pulled out of the fire and waved in a circle until they become red hot. Then the incandescent disc is placed on a table of rock and hit hard, breaking the original shape into many different forms and pieces that fly away, forming a shining line in the dark sky. If the right optical effect is achieved, it will bring good luck.

Die zweitgrößte Stadt Südtirols nach Bozen ist der Kurort Meran. Bereits seit dem 19. Jahrhundert gehört Meran zu den bedeutendsten Kurstädten Europas und entwickelte sich schon früh zu einer der ersten Touristenhochburgen des Habsburgerreiches mit zahlreichen berühmten Gästen aus Politik und Kultur. Die vielen illustren Besucher schätzten dabei vor allem die klimatisch vorteilhafte Lage bei durchschnittlich 300 Sonnentagen pro Jahr und das mediterrane Flair im Herzen der Alpen. Am Fuße hoher Berge gelegen sprießen opulente mediterrane Pflanzen, wie Palmen und Zypressen und verleihen der Stadt einen einzigartigen Kontrast zwischen südländischem Flair und beeindruckendem Bergpanorama. Die zweite Besonderheit Merans neben dem einzigartigen Klima ist das majestätische, im Jugendstil erbaute, Kurhaus. Entworfen vom Österreicher Josef CzernyIm, fand im Jahre 1874 die Eröffnung des Westflügels des Kurhauses statt. Während einer umfassenden Umgestaltung im Jahre 1911 durch den Wiener Architekten Friedrich Ohmann, wurden der große Kursaal und die Rotunde erbaut: der schönste Jugendstilbau des Alpenraumes war geschaffen. Heute stehen die insgesamt 13 international standardisierten Säle für Konzerte, Bankette, Kongresse, Präsentationen, Pressekonferenzen, Bälle uvm. zur Verfügung. Nur wenige Schritte weiter befindet sich seit nunmehr sechs Jahren ein weiteres architektonisches Highlight: die neue Therme Meran. Das

lichtdurchflutete Glaskonstrukt des Bozner Stararchitekten Matteo Thun charakterisiert sich durch warme Farben, klare Linien sowie wertvolle Natursteine und bereitet der Kurstadt alle Ehre. La città di cura di Merano è dopo Bolzano la città più grande dell’Alto Adige. Già nel diciannovesimo secolo Merano era una delle mete preferite dall’impero austroungarico e ben presto divenne la stella termale d’Europa. Vide soggiornare illustri personaggi del mondo della cultura e della politica che apprezzavano la sua splendida posizione nel cuore delle Alpi e il suo confortevole clima mediterraneo con i 300 giorni di sole all’anno. Grazie alla sua posizione protetta ai piedi delle montagne, gode di un clima mediterraneo che favorisce la crescita di piante quali palme e cipressi che le conferiscono un tocco esotico, in notevole contrasto con il panorama alpino circostante. Dopo il clima, svolge un ruolo fondamentale il bellissimo Kurhaus con il suo stile liberty. Costruito sul progetto dell’architetto austriaco Josef Czerny, l’ala ovest venne inaugurata nel 1874. Nel 1911 l’architetto viennese Friedrich Ohmann iniziò a progettare la grande sala detta "Kursaal" e la rotonda, i cui lavori iniziarono l’anno dopo e che resero il Kurhaus il più bell’edificio in stile liberty dell’arco alpino. Oggi il complesso racchiude 13 sale di varie dimensioni che ospitano concerti, banchetti, congressi, presentazioni, conferenze, serate danzanti ecc. A soli pochi passi di distanza si trova da poco più di 5 anni un altro gioiello architettonico: le nuove Terme di Merano. L’imponente cubo trasparente in metallo e vetro progettato dal noto architetto bolzanino Matteo Thun è caratterizzato con elementi in legno che donano un particolare calore. Finalmente, dopo alcuni anni di recessione, la città di Merano ha nuovamente delle terme prestigiose che la riallacciano alla gloriosa epoca passata. FASZINIERENDE BISCHOFSSTADT AFFASCINANTE CITTÀ VESCOVILE A FASCINATING EPISCOPAL TOWN

Bereits die historische Altstadt mit dem Brixner Dom und dem angrenzenden Kreuzgang weisen auf die lange religiöse Vergangenheit Brixens hin. Auch das Priesterseminar, die Ausbildungsstätte für Pfarrer, das Klarissenkloster, das Kapuzinerkloster und die Pfarrkirche befinden sich im Zentrum. Die Hofburg war in vergangenen Zeiten ein bedeutender Sitz der Fürstbischöfe. Deren Umbau erfolgte 1595 unter dem Fürstbischof Kardinal Andreas von Österreich. Ihm folgten Fürstbischof Christoph Andrä von Spaur und Kaspar Ignaz Graf von Künigl. Heute befindet sich im Diözesanmuseum der Hofburg der Brixner Domschatz, ein überaus wertvolles, im Laufe von Jahrhunderten angewachsenes Sakristeiinventar. Das Klarissenkloster zur hl. Elisabeth, welches im Jahr 1253 gegründet wurde, stellte die erste Niederlassung der heiligen Klara im deutschsprachigen Raum dar. Für einige Jahre wurden die Schwestern aufgrund eines Streites des Landes verwiesen, bis sie 1464 wieder zurückkehren durften. Eine der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Kirche stellt der Bilderzyklus der hl. Klara des Barockmalers Franz Sebald Unterberger dar. Der Dom, welcher der Himmelfahrt Mariens und dem hl. Kassian geweiht ist, dient seit 1964 als Hauptsitz des Bischofs. Die Kathedra des Bischofs, nämlich die apostolische Amtsvollmacht und der institutionelle Bischofssitz, befinden sich im Dom. Anfang Oktober 2011 fand die Weihe des neuen Bischofs Ivo Muser im Brixner Dom statt. Il centro storico, il duomo e l’antico chiostro testimoniano l’importanza che rivestiva la città nel Medioevo. Passeggiando per le vie del centro si potranno notare il seminario, centro di formazione per i futuri sacerdoti, il Convento delle Clarisse e la chiesa e Convento dei frati Cappuccini. Il Palazzo Vescovile, antica residenza del Vescovo venne ristrutturato nel 1595 per volere del Principe Vescovo Cardinal Andreas d’Austria. Alla morte del cardinale, i suoi

successori, Christoph Andreas von Spaur e Caspar Ignaz Künigl, portarono avanti i lavori di restauro del complesso. Il Palazzo Vescovile ospita oggi il museo diocesano che raccoglie il Tesoro del Duomo, una vasta collezione di oggetti sacri. Il Convento delle Clarisse dedicato a Santa Elisabetta, costituisce la prima fondazione di questo ramo dell’ordine francescano nell’ambito della lingua tedesca e venne fondato nel 1235 quando Santa Chiara era ancora in vita. Per alcuni anni le monache, a causa di un litigio, vennero cacciate dall’Alto Adige e poterono ritornarvi solo nel 1464. L’opera di maggior pregio del convento è il ciclo di Santa Chiara del pittore barocco Franz Sebald Unterberger. Il duomo dedicato a Santa Maria Assunta e San Cassiano è dal 1964 sede della diocesi di Bolzano-Bressanone. Oggi il vescovo si è trasferito a Bolzano, ma ritorna nella cattedrale per celebrare l'Eucarestia nelle maggiori solennità e in occasioni particolari, quali il Giovedì Santo, dove consacra gli oli per l'amministrazione del battesimo, cresima, dell'unzione degli infermi, della consacrazione di diaconi e sacerdoti, nonché di chiese, altari e campane. A inizio ottobre 2011 è stato consacrato presso il Duomo il nuovo vescovo Ivo Muser. The historical centre, the Duomo and the ancient cloister bear witness to the religious importance that cloaked the city in Medieval times. Passing through the streets in the centre you can note the seminary, the centre of learning for future pastors, the Convent of the Clarisse and the church and monastery of the Capuchin monks. The Episcopal Palace, antique residence of the bishop was restructured in 1595 to fulfil the wishes of Prince Bishop Cardinal Andreas of Austria. When the cardinal died, his successors, Christoph Andreas von Spaur and CasparIgnaz Künigl, continued the restoration of the complex. Today, the Episcopal Palace houses the Diocese museum that contains the treasures of the Duomo, a vast collection of sacred objects. The Convent of the Clarisse, dedicated to St. Elisabeth, is the cornerstone of this branch of the Franciscan Order in the German language, and was founded in 1235 when St. Elisabeth was still alive. For years the nuns were ousted from South Tyrol due to a dispute, and were not able to return until 1464. The most precious work in the convent is the cycle of Santa Chiara by the Baroque painter Franz Sebald Unterberger. Since 1964, the Duomo dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption and San Cassiano is the seat of the dioceses of Bolzano Bressanone. The bishop has since moved to Bolzano, but returns to the cathedral to celebrate the Eucharist with great solemnity on special occasions such as Holy Thursday where the oils for baptisms and confirmations are consecrated, to anointing of the sick and the ordination of deacons and priests, as well as blessings of churches, altars and towers. DIE VIELSEITIGE UNA CITTÀ DALLE MILLE SFACCETTATURE A MULTI-FACETED CITY

Das 750 Jahre alte Städtchen Bruneck stellt das pulsierende Zentrum des Pustertals dar. Bruneck zeichnet sich für ein historisches Flair sowie für eine besondere Lebhaftigkeit und Vielseitigkeit aus. Herzlich, offen und dennoch bodenständig – mit diesen Worten würde wohl so mancher Besucher das sympathische Städtchen umschreiben, in dem sich geschichtliche und kulturelle Highlights mit jugendlichem Charme vermischen. Eine der eindrucksvollsten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Bruneck ist der Soldatenfriedhof, welcher bereits während des ersten Weltkrieges aufgrund der zahlreichen Kriegslazarette in der nahen Umgebung entstand. Der Friedhof befindet sich auf einem bewaldeten Hügel südlich der Stadt. Vom Pionieroffizier und Architekten Ing. A. Bechtold aus Bregenz gestaltet, harmonisiert der Friedhof mit dem Bild des Waldes. Insgesamt ruhen hier 792 österreichisch-ungarische, russische und serbische Soldaten. Als besonders sehenswert präsentieren sich auch die Erdpyramiden bei Oberwielenbach / Bruneck, deren Farbe sich je nach Tageszeit und Lichtverhältnis ändert. Beliebt bei den Gästen ist Bruneck auch wegen der attraktiven Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in den malerischen Stadtgassen. Zudem gilt die Stadt insbesondere während der Wintermonate als eines der Ausgehmekkas Südtirols. charme giovanile della città e gli eventi culturali che vengono organizzati. Fra le mete più suggestive della città vi è senza dubbio il Cimitero di Guerra. Durante il primo conflitto mondiale a Brunico erano ospitati diversi ospedali militari in cui morirono numerosi soldati feriti, malati e prigionieri di guerra. Poiché non era possibile seppellirli nel cimitero cittadino, il comune cedette al comando militare sul Monte Spalliera una grande superficie affinché vi realizzasse un apposito cimitero. Un ufficiale del genio che prestava servizio a Brunico, l'architetto ed ingegnere A. Bechtold di Bregenz, allestì il cimitero in modo tale che si inserisse armoniosamente nell'ambiente del bosco. Qui sono sepolti in tombe singole e fosse comuni 792 soldati dell'armata austroungarica, russi e serbi. Un’attrazione assai nota sono le piramidi di terra di Perca, il cui colore cambia a seconda del momento della giornata e delle condizioni di luce. Brunico è molto apprezzata anche per le possibilità di shopping che offrono le pittoresche vie del centro. Inoltre, durante la stagione invernale la città si arricchisce di ulteriore fascino. The 750 year old city of Brunico is the geographical, cultural and economic centre of Val Pusteria. Brunico is considered a city on a human scale and is known not only for its historical character but the wide range of activities offered. Tourists call it a friendly city with a population that is very open towards others, where there is perfect balance of the city’s youthful charm and the cultural events that are organised here. One of the many interesting sites in the city is the war cemetery. During WWI Brunico hosted many military hospitals where soldiers died of wounds, of disease and as prisoners of war. Because it was impossible to bury the dead in the city cemetery, the town ceded a large tract of land on Mount Spalliera to the armed forces to construct a military cemetery. An official that was serving in Brunico, architect and engineer A. Bechtold of Bregenz, designed the cemetery so that it blended in with the surrounding woody landscape. Here 792 soldiers are buried in single and communal graves from the Austro Hungarian, Russian and Serbian armies. A well known attraction are the earth pyramids of Perca, whose colour changes according to the time of day and the illumination from the sun. Brunico has excellent shopping on the picturesque streets the town’s centre. In the winter, the city takes on a magical aura. ◊

HANDELSORT DER ANTIKE UND MODERNE CITTÀ COMMERCIALE OGGI COME IN PASSATO A COMMERCIAL CITY NOW AS IN THE PAST

Schon seit Jahrzehnten gilt Sterzing aufgrund der günstigen geographischen Lage im oberen Eisacktal als ein zentraler Handelsort. Auf 948 Höhenmetern ü.d.M. gelegen, gehört Sterzing zudem zu einer der höchstgelegensten Städte der Alpen. Der Brennerpass befindet sich lediglich in 15 km Entfernung, der Jaufenpass und das Penser Joch sind auch in nächster Nähe und formen somit für Sterzing einen strategisch optimalen Standort zwischen den alpinen Übergängen. Der Brennerpass war stets eine wichtige Verbindung zwischen Italien und Österreich, der Jaufenpass ist der nördlichste inner-italienische Alpenpass und zudem die kürzeste Verbindung zwischen Meran und Sterzing, und das Penser Joch verbindet das Sarntal mit dem Wipptal, Bozen mit Sterzing. Bereits in prähistorischer Zeit herrschte auf diesen Pässen reges Treiben, sodass unter dem römischen Feldherrn Drusus die Siedlung Vipitenum entstand. Vor allem im 15. Jahrhundert als im Wipptal der Bergbau einsetzte, entschieden sich viele Unternehmer den Firmensitz nach Sterzing zu verlegen. In jener Zeit wurde die Stadt erweitert und diese Neugestaltung charakterisiert noch heute das malerische Sterzing. Mittlerweilen blühen viele andere Wirtschaftszweige in dem charmanten Fuggerstädtchen auf. Grazie alla sua favorevole posizione geografica nella alta Valle Isarco, da sempre, Vipiteno è un vivace centro commerciale. Con i suoi 948 metri s.l.m, Vipiteno è una delle

città più alte posta tra le Alpi. A soli 15 km dal Passo del Brennero e nelle vicinanze del Passo Giovo e del Passo Pennes, Vipiteno si trova in una posizione strategica delimitata dalle Alpi. Il Passo del Brennero funge da importante collegamento con l’Austria, il Passo Giovo è il passo alpino più a nord in Italia e la via di comunicazione più corta tra Merano e Vipiteno, mentre il Passo Pennes collega la Val Sarentino con la Wipptal e Bolzano con Vipiteno. Conosciuta all’uomo già dalla preistoria, questa zona venne insediata dall’imperatore romano Druso che si stanziò qui nel 14 a.C. dandole il nome di Vipitenum. Soprattutto nel 15 secolo, quando l’industria mineraria della Wipptal fiorì, molti imprenditori decisero di trasferire la propria attività a Vipiteno. SKI UND MEHR IM NORDEN SÜDTIROLS EMOZIONI INVERNALI DAVVERO UNICHE TRULY UNIQUE WINTER EMOTIONS „Nicht ein Flügelschlag ging durch die Welt, still und blendend lag der weiße Schnee, nicht ein Wölklein hing am Sternenzelt…“, so beginnt Gottfried Keller seine Ode an den Winter. Die kalte Jahreszeit in den Bergen gehört zu den ganz großen Ereignissen im Laufe des Jahres, insbesondere wenn sich der Winter so facettenreich wie im Tauferer Ahrntal präsentiert. Denn während so mancher einfach die naturbelassene Schönheit der tief verschneiten Landschaft auf sich wirken lässt, genießen andere die traumhaften Abfahrten der verschiedenen Skigebiete des Ahrntals. Beispielsweise jene des Speikbodens, welches in diesem Jahr drei zusätzliche Pisten und einen Aussichtsturm auf 2.400 Metern Höhe mit 360°-Panoramablick auf die Dolomiten mit den Drei Zinnen, die Zillertaler Alpen und die Durreckgruppe bietet. Von Südtirols höchstgelegener 8er-Kabinenbahn wird hingegen das Skigebiet Klausberg erschlossen. Auf über 2.500 Metern Höhe starten nicht nur einzigartige Skipisten, sondern auch der neue Alpine Coaster „Klausberg-Flitzer“ - die längste Alpen-Achterbahn Italiens. Die Pisten von Rein in Taufers, dem dritten Skigebiet, eignen sich hingegen besonders gut für Familien. Neben Skifahren sorgen Rodeln und Langlaufen für ein umfassendes Rundum-Winterprogramm für die ganze Familie. Nach einem winterlichen Tag schenkt ein Besuch in dem neu eröffneten Genuss- und Badezentrum „Cascade“ am Fuße der Reinbachfälle in Sand in Taufers vollkommene Entspannung. Das moderne Gebäude wurde bestens in die Landschaft eingegliedert. Eine durchgehende Glasfassade durchflutet die Schwimmhalle und die Ruheräume mit viel Licht und bietet eine beeindruckende Aussicht auf die winterliche Naturlandschaft.

HOCHALPINER NATURGENUSS UN AFFASCINANTE TERRITORIO ALPINO A FASCINATING ALPINE TERRITORY Vinschgau, das Tal der Etsch zwischen ihrer Quelle am Reschenpass und der Kurstadt Meran. Während der warmen Monate als wahre Wanderoase bekannt, verwandelt sich das Tal im Winter in ein natürliches Schneeparadies, das besonders bei Ruhesuchenden und naturverbundenen Gästen großen Anklang findet. Denn auch abseits der zahlreichen Skipisten bietet das Tal im Westen Südtirols eine schier unendliche Vielfalt an Wintersportmöglichkeiten vor der Kulisse einer beeindruckenden Berglandschaft rund um „König Ortler“, den mit 3.905 Metern höchsten Berg Südtirols. Imposant und naturbelassen, so lässt sich die alpine Welt des Vinschgaus am besten umschreiben. Neben der Ortlergruppe, die fast zur Gänze in den Nationalpark Stilfserjoch, dem größten Schutzgebiet der Alpen, eingegliedert ist, trägt eine weitere Gebirgsgruppe zum hochalpinen Charakter des Vinschgaus bei: Die Sesvennagruppe, welche sich zu fast zwei Drittel im Münstertal in der Schweiz befindet und deren südliche Grenze im mittelalterlichen Vinschger Städtchen Glurns ausläuft. Ein besonders ursprüngliches Kerbtal des Vinschgaus ist das Martelltal, welches geradlinig von den steilen Talhängen im Gebiet der Gemeinde Latsch in süd-südwestlicher Richtung in die Ortlergruppe hineinführt. Besonders beliebt ist der Vinschgau bei Langläufern, unter anderem auch, da auf den Langlaufskiern sogar eine Landesgrenzüberschreitung möglich ist. Ganze 200 Loipenkilometer verbinden den Vinschgau mit dem Tiroler Oberland. Doch vor allem die spektakuläre Landschaft mit ihren weißen Welten im glitzernden Pulverschnee und einer bestechende Fernsicht lassen Langlaufherzen höher schlagen. Nicht zu vergessen sind die vielen weiteren Aktivmöglichkeiten des Vinschgaus mit Schneeschuhwandern, Tourengehen, Rodeln und natürlich Skifahren.

Rodelbahnen zum Vergnügen für Groß und Klein schlängeln sich durch die umliegende Bergwelt. Im weiten und sonnigen Tal ist das Schneeschuhwandern bei den Gästen und Einheimischen besonders beliebt. ATEMBERAUBENDE BERGKULISSE UN ALTIPIANO MOZZAFIATO A BREATHTAKING MOUNTAIN PLATEAU Im Jahr 2009 hat es die außerordentliche monumentale Schönheit und die geologisch und geomorphologische Bedeutung der Dolomiten auf einen Platz in den 176 Denkmälern des UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe geschafft. Diese Auszeichnung ist unter anderem auch dem Schlern und dem Rosengarten zuzuschreiben, welche die spektakuläre Kulisse der 57 km² großen Seiser Alm bilden. Inmitten fesselnder Landschaften auf über 60 Kilometer bestens präparierten Abfahrten aller Schwierigkeitsstufen, wird der Winterurlaub im Feriengebiet Seiser Alm zu einem außergewöhnlichen Erlebnis. Sicherheit geht vor - so lautet das Motto der familienfreundlichen Seiser Alm. In der Wintersaison 2011/2012 werden daher alle Wintersportler, egal ob Groß oder Klein, von der „Hexe Nix“ begleitet. Zusammen mit der Illustratorin Evi Gasser hat die sonnige Alm eine Broschüre mit allen wichtigen Verhaltensregeln auf dem Schnee entwickelt. So ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die Hochalm bereits zum dritten Mal vom ADAC als Top-Skigebiet 2012 in der Kategorie Familien ausgezeichnet wurde. Neben bestens präparierten und sicheren Pisten bietet die Seiser Alm europaweit bekannte Langlaufloipen, gepflegte Winterwanderwege, abgelegene Schneeschuhrouten, schmissige Rodelbahnen und den vielfach preisgekrönten „King Laurin Snowpark“ für Snowboarder, vor einem beeindruckenden Bergpanorama. Auftakt der diesjährigen Wintersaison auf der größten Hochalm Europas bildet das legendäre Highspeedrennen am 11. Dezember 2011. Auf der 230 m langen GoldknopfSpeedstrecke treten Mannschaften, bestehend aus vier Personen mit mindestens einer Frau, gegeneinander an. Herausforderer in diesem Jahr ist kein Geringerer als der 13malige Weltcup-Sieger Kristian Ghedina.

Non c’è dunque da stupirsi se l’altipiano è stato riconosciuto per la terza volta dall’ADAC, ovvero l’Automobile Club tedesco, quale area sciistica ideale per bambini e famiglie in tutto l’arco alpino. Oltre a piste ben preparate e con un occhio di riguardo alla sicurezza, l’Alpe di Siusi dispone di piste per sci da fondo famose in tutta Europa, sentieri ben curati e segnalati sia per escursioni a piedi che con le ciaspole, piste per slittino ed il rinomato “King Laurin Snowpark” che offre un’incredibile varietà di "boxes", "steps" e "kickers" di allenamento e riscaldamento per tutti gli appassionati dello snowboard, il tutto in un meraviglioso paesaggio invernale. Il prossimo 11 dicembre aprirà l’imminente stagione invernale sull’altipiano più grande d’Europa la leggendaria Highspeed Race. Sui 230 m della pista Punta d’Oro, team composti da 4 persone, di cui almeno una donna si sfideranno per battere il team campione in carica, di cui fa addiritura parte il 13 volte campione del mondo Kristian Ghedina.

In addition to well groomed and extremely safe pistes, Alpe di Siusi has the most famous cross country trails in Europe, well tended and posted trails for walking excursions as well as on snowshoes, sledding runs and the famous “King Laurin Snowpark” offering an incredible variety of "boxes", "steps" and "kickers" for practising and warming up for all snowboard enthusiasts, all in a marvellous winter setting. On December 11th, the ski season kicks off on the largest mountain plateau in Europe with the legendary Highspeed Race. Das Glück der Erde liegt auf dem Rücken der Pferde…im Einklang mit den Pferden und der beeindruckenden Naturlandschaft die winterliche Pracht aus einer anderen Perspektive betrachten: Meran 2000 macht es möglich und bietet Reitunterricht für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene, Halbtages- und Tagesritte, Kinderführungen und romantische Kutschenfahrten. Und dies, wie könnte es aufgrund der Nähe zu Hafling auch anders sein, auf dem Rücken eines robusten und zahmen Haflingerpferds. Die Südtiroler Rasse ist ein Gebirgspferd, das heute in erster Linie als kräftiges Freizeitpferd zum Reiten eingesetzt wird und als besonders kinderlieb gilt.

PISTENABENTEUER IM PUSTERTAL AVVENTURA SULLE PISTE IN VAL PUSTERIA ADVENTURES ON THE PISTES IN VAL PUNTERIA Der Kronplatz, der 2.275 Meter hohe Hausberg Brunecks am Rande der Dolomiten, ist eines der modernsten und größten Skigebiete Südtirols. 114 Pistenkilometer und 32 Aufstiegsanlagen der neuesten Generation garantieren Pistenspaß ohne Ende. Sämtliche Pisten des Skigebiets werden durch zahlreiche Beschneiungsanlagen mit Kunstschnee versorgt und gelten daher den ganzen Winter über als schneesicher. Das Pistenrepertoire am Kronplatz präsentiert sich ideal für Anfänger und Könner gleichermaßen und reicht von flachen Hängen bis hin zu respekteinflößenden Abfahrten. Eine besondere Herausforderung stellt die Piste „Erta“ (ladinische Bezeichnung für steil), welche bis ins Zentrum von St. Vigil reicht. Der parallel zum Lift verlaufende Snowpark liegt in sonniger Süd-Ost-Ausrichtung und erstreckt sich auf einer Fläche von über 75.000 m². Auch der diesjährige Winter birgt wieder zahlreiche Neuerungen für Liebhaber der kalten Jahreszeit. So zum Beispiel die neue Aufstiegsanlage Ried, welche Schneefans bequem und sicher nach Percha bei Bruneck transportieren. Umweltbewusst und ohne morgendliche Aufregung im Straßenverkehr gelangt der Gast mit dem Zug direkt ins Skigebiet. Außerdem wurde bei den Kabinenseilbahnen Col Toron und Mira dank einer Geschwindigkeitssteigerung nicht nur die Bequemlichkeit sondern auch die Förderleistung erhöht. An der Ostseite bei St. Vigil wurden die Pisten erweitert und somit sicherer gestaltet. Zudem begeistert der Kronplatz mit einer Vielzahl an Events, wie der bekannte Ski-Europacup der Herren kurz vor Weihnachten oder die Olanger Fire & Ice Skishow.

Plan de Corones, situata a 2.275 metri di altezza sopra Brunico ai margini delle Dolomiti, è uno dei comprensori sciistici più moderni e più grandi dell’Alto Adige. 114 chilometri di piste e 32 impianti di risalita di nuova generazione garantiscono un divertimento senza confini. Tutte le piste del comprensorio sono curate con numerosi cannoni che garantiscono la neve per tutto l’inverno. La tipologia delle piste di Plan de Corones è ideale per principianti ed esperti e spazia dai dolci pendii fino alle discese mozzafiato. Una sfida tutta particolare è rappresentata dalla pista “Erta” (termine ladino che significa ripido), che arriva fino al centro di San Vigilio. Lo Snow Park, che corre parallelo all’impianto di risalita,

è situato al sole in posizione sud-est e si estende su una superficie di oltre 75.000 m². Anche quest’inverno ha di nuovo in serbo molteplici novità per gli amanti della stagione fredda. Ad esempio il nuovo impianto di risalita Ried, che conduce comodamente e in tutta sicurezza verso Perca presso Brunico. L’imponenza della natura e l’emozione di svegliarsi al mattino senza traffico accompagnano l’ospite nel viaggio diretto al comprensorio sciistico. Inoltre, con le funivie Col Toron e Mira, grazie ad una maggiore velocità, si è riscontrato un incremento in termini non solo di comodità ma anche di capacità. Ad est di San Vigilio le piste sono state ampliate e quindi rese più sicure. Inoltre, Plan de Corones stupisce per una grande varietà di eventi, come la rinomata Coppa Europa di sci maschile poco prima di Natale o il Fire & Ice Skishow di Valdaora.

Plan de Corones, located at an altitude of 2.275 metres above Brunico on the border of the Dolomites, is one of the largest and most modern ski complexes of South Tyrol. 114 kilometres of pistes and 32 state-ofthe-art lifts guarantee unlimited fun. All of the pistes of the complex are tended with snowmaking facilities that guarantee snow all winter long. The type of runs on Plan de Corones are ideal for novices as well as experts and range from gentle hills to adrenalin-pumping descents. A particularly challenging run is the“Erta” run (a Ladin word meaning steep), that ends in the centre of San Vigilio. The Snow Park, that runs parallel to the ski lift, is in a sunny spot, a southeasterly position extending over an area of over 75.000 m². There are many new things in store this season for cold-weather lovers. One example is the new Ried ski lift that takes you comfortably and in total safety towards Perca near Brunico. Guests travel directly to the ski area, admiring nature's majesty and the emotion of waking up in the morning without traffic. In addition, with the Col Toron and Mira cable cars, thanks to faster speed, there has been an increase not only in comfort but also in capacity. East of San Vigilio, the runs have been widened and thus made more secure. What's more, Plan de Corones will astound with the number and variety of events planned such as the famous European Ski Cup for Men just before Christmas or the Fire & Ice Skishow of Valdaora. ◊

MAGISCHE WINTERLANDSCHAFT MAGICO PAESAGGIO INVERNALE MAGICAL WINTER PARADISE Das Ridnauntal erstreckt sich von Sterzing ausgehend in Richtung Westen und reicht 16 km in die Stubaier Alpen hinein. Flächenmäßig zählt das Tal zum sechstgrößten in ganz Südtirol. Das weitläufige Ridnauntal blickt auf eine rege Bergbaugeschichte zurück: Über 900 Jahre wurde Silber, Blei und Erz abgebaut. Auch die Knappenkirche St. Magdalena in Gasse sowie das St. Laurentiuskirchlein in Maiern zeugen noch heute von dieser historischen Vergangenheit des Gebiets. Die naturbelassenen idyllischen Ortschaften des Tals münden alle in die Berge. Es herrscht somit kein Durchgangsverkehr. Auf dieser Tatsache beruht auch der Beiname des Ridnauntals: „Ruhetal der Natur“. In den traumhaft beschaulichen Winterlandschaften eröffnet sich dem Besucher eine zauberhafte Kulisse. Die Anmut der tiefverschneiten Gegend, veredelt durch reine und pure Luft, wird sogar mit geschlossenen Augen wahrgenommen. In der von Ursprung und Tradition geprägten Landschaft, erstrecken sich über das gesamte Tal hin atemberaubende Naturschönheiten, die mit weißbedeckten Bergen beeindrucken und einerseits unbeschreibliche Ruhe aufkommen lassen, andererseits zu aufregenden Winteraktivitäten verführen. Somit kommen auch Wintersportbegeisterte im Skigebiet Ratschings-Jaufen, das etwa in der Talmitte des Ridnauntals liegt, auf ihre Kosten. Skifahrern und Snowboardern stehen 25 bestens präparierte Pistenkilometer zur Verfügung, eine 5 km lange Rodelbahn sowie zahlreiche Aufstiegsanlagen schmiegen sich zwischen breite Abfahrten und ausgezeichnet gespurte Langlaufloipen führen durch märchenhafte Wälder. Den Outdoor-Erlebnissen sind keine Grenzen gesetzt, denn im neuen Funpark erfahren Boarder und Snow-Freaks einen ganz besonderen SchneeKick: Rennfahrern - oder alle, die es einmal werden möchten - steht eine Torlaufstrecke mit automatischer Zeitrechnung zur Verfügung. Einem Wettkampf zwischen Freunden oder Familienmitgliedern steht somit nichts mehr im Wege.

La Val Ridanna si estende da Vipiteno in direzione occidentale fino alle Alpi di Stubai, che attraversa per ben 16 km. Per le sue dimensioni, è considerata la sesta valle più grande dell’Alto Adige. Il meraviglioso scenario innevato con la sua aria fresca e pulita può essere percepito anche ad occhi chiusi. Il paesaggio, ricco di tradizione e di autentiche meraviglie naturali, da una parte impressionerà con le sue bianche cime e con la sua tranquilla quiete e dall’altra con la sua attiva offerta di sport invernali. E’ per questo che il comprensorio sciistico Racines-Giovo, posto per metà del suo territorio in Val Ridanna, è la meta di tanti sportivi. Ad attendere sciatori e appassionati di snowboard ben 25 km di piste ben preparate, 5 km di pista per slittino, numerosi impianti di risalita, ampie discese e fantastiche piste per sci da fondo che si snodano attraverso un paesaggio idilliaco. Val Ridanna extends from Vipiteno for a full 16 km east towards the Alpi di Stubai, and is considered the sixth largest valley in South Tyrol. This wide valley is famous for its rich mining tradition: over 900 years ago, silver, lead and metal were extracted here. FIS SKI WORLD CUP IN GRÖDEN FIS SKI WORLD CUP GARDENA 16.12.2011 – 17.12.2011 Gröden · Val Gardena Ein absoluter Höhepunkt in Gröden sind seit den 70er Jahren die Weltcuprennen, die Abfahrt auf der Saslong zählt zu einer der spektakulärsten im Skizirkus. Hier haben insgesamt 59 Speedwettbewerbe bereits stattgefunden, insgesamt 70 Rennen in 43 Jahren. Ausgetragen werden dieses Jahr ein Super-G und eine Abfahrt. E‘ dal 1970 che la Coppa del Mondo si svolge in Gardena con la discesa libera sulla pista di Saslong, una tra le piste più spettacolari del Circo Bianco. Sulla Saslong si sono tenute ben 59 gare di velocità, per un totale di 70 competizioni in 43 anni. In programma quest’anno due gare: Super-G e discesa libera. SELLARONDA SKIMARATHON 10.02.2012 Val di Fassa, Wolkenstein Val di Fassa, Selva Gardena Zum 17. Mal findet das nächtliche Skibergsteigerrennen statt. Jede Mannschaft besteht aus einem Paar und muss mit Tourenski und Steigfellen ausgerüstet sein. Die Teilnehmer tragen die Tourenski und sind mit Stirnlampen für die Beleuchtung ausgerüstet. Start und Ankunftspunkt ist in Corvara. Per la 17a volta avrà luogo la gara di sci alpinismo. Si tratta di una gara in notturna per squadre composte da due persone, riservata, viste le caratteristiche tecniche, solamente a sciatori esperti in questa disciplina. I concorrenti gareggiano equipaggiati con sci d’alpinismo e frontalini per illuminare il tracciato. Partenza e arrivo quest’anno saranno a Corvara. This is the 17th edition of this alpine skiing race. It is a night race for teams of two people, and given the technical characteristics, reserved exclusively to expert skiers in this discipline. Competitors will compete fully equipped with alpine skis and visors to illuminate the run. This year, start and finish lines will be in Corvara.

ÖTZI-ALPIN-MARATHON 13. – 14.04.2012 Der Ötzi Alpin Marathon führt über 42 Kilometer und 3.266 Höhenmeter von Naturns bis auf den Schnalstaler Gletscher. Der Marathon setzt sich aus den Disziplinen Mountainbike, Laufen und Skiberggehen zusammen. Die Schwierigkeit und zugleich Besonderheit liegt bestimmt in der Länge und im Höhenunterschied. La Ötzi Alpin Marathon è un triatlon estremo di 42,2 km e 3266 metri di dislivello con partenza da Naturno ed arrivo sul ghiacciaio della Val Senales. La competizione prevede tre discipline: mountain-bike, corsa e sci alpinismo. Peculiarità e difficoltà di questa competizione sono dovute alla lunghezza del tracciato e al dislivello. The Ötzi Alpin Marathon is an extreme triathlon of 42.2 km and 3266 meters in altitude change with the start in Naturno and finish at the glacier of Val Senales. The competition involves three disciplines: mountain biking, running and alpine skiing. Idiosyncrasies and difficulties of this competition are due to the length of the route and to the altitude.

Biathlon Weltcup Antholz COPPA DEL MONDO DI BIATHLON DI ANTERSELVA ANTHOLZ BIATHLON WORLD CUP

Auftakt der diesjähirgen Ausgabe des Weltcuprennens in Antholz bildet der Sprint der Frauen am Donnerstagnachmittag (19.01.2012). Der Freitag gehört den sprintenden Männern, am Samstag und Sonntag sind jeweils die Staffeln und die Massenstarts der Frauen und Männer geplant. Durchschnittlich werden täglich 14.000 Besucher erwartet. Der Kartenvorverkauf ist deshalb bereits seit dem Sommer im Gange. Wer sich früh genug einen Eintritt sichert, kann die Biathlon-Stars hautnah miterleben. Ein aufregendes Rahmenprogramm wartet auf die zahlreichen Besucher, an jedem Wettkampftag eine andere Partyband im Stadion und auf die Feierwütigen im Zuschauerzelt warten täglich die Original Südtiroler Spitzbuaben mit einer ausgelassenen Stimmung.

Ganz im Zeichen der Musik steht das Swing on Snow-Festival auf der Seiser Alm. Acht Tage lang verzaubern magische Klänge die tief verschneite Berglandschaft. Echte Volksmusik, Rock, Jazz, Brass und Polka, authentisch bis experimentelle musikalische Leckerbissen erobern die Almhütten der Seiser Alm. Am Vormittag ertönen die Klangmeister auf den Skipisten, zu Mittag füllen sie die Skihütten mit den unterschiedlichsten Stücken und abends werden die Musiker in den gut besuchten Lokalen mit klingendem Beifall unterstützt. Musikgruppen aus dem gesamten Alpenraum führen durch

eine kulturelle und sonore Reise. Bei der Auswahl der Gruppen wird besonders Wert auf die Originalität gelegt, deshalb unterscheidet sich das Festival von anderen. Neben Künstler aus Österreich und Schweiz sind auch bekannte Namen aus Südtirol vertreten. Al mattino i gruppi avvolgeranno le piste con la loro musica, a pranzo si esibiranno nei rifugi e la sera presso frequentati locali della zona. Gruppi provenienti da tutta l’area alpina vi conduranno in un viaggio culturale al centro della musica. Per la scelta dei gruppi si è puntato molto sull’originalità e per questo ogni edizione è unica. Oltre ad artisti austriaci e svizzeri si esibiranno anche famosi gruppi altoatesini. The Swing on Snow Festival is an event with music that will take place in Alpe di Siusi. The snowcapped mountains, the huts and villages at the foot of the Sciliar will come alive for 8 days with a swinging sound, a blend of folk and jazz, soul, pop and classical music. In the morning the groups will animate the slopes with their music, at lunchtime they will perform in alpine huts and in the evening at popular locales. Groups from all over the Alpine region will lead you on a cultural journey to the heart of music. Concerning the selection of the bands, the focus was mainly on originality, so each year's edition is unique. In addition to Swiss and Austrian artists, well-known South Tyrolean bands will also perform. Mit allen fünf Sinnen die fünf unterschiedlichen Südtiroler Weihnachtsmärkte in Bozen, Meran, Brixen, Bruneck und Sterzing erleben. Während der Adventszeit zeigen sich die Städte von ihrer besinnlichen Seite, der Duft kandierter Früchte und heißer Kastanien umgibt die kleinen weihnachtlichen Holzbuden.
