TO BENEFIT CHARITYWORKS’ 2012 PARTNERS: USO & SEE FOREVER

Saturday, May 19th 12:00 - 4:00 PM TO BENEFIT

CharityWorks helps local charities by supporting programs that will have an impact today, tomorrow and in the future. Over the past decade, CharityWorks has become a major philanthropic organization in the Washington Metropolitan area and has distributed more than $11,000,000 in high impact grants. This year, CharityWorks joins forces with the USO to provide a tangible way for all of us to say thank you for the dedication and sacrifice of our troops and their families. Funds raised by CharityWorks this year will help build the USO Warrior and Family Center at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. In addition, CharityWorks is helping See Forever expand the Maya Angelou Young Adult Learning Center here in Washington. The Learning Center provides academic and workforce development to youth and young adults who transition from New Beginnings Youth Development Center and other young people under the supervision of the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. Please save the date of Saturday, September 29th for the 2012 CharityWorks Dream Ball, co-chaired by Mark Lowham, Managing Partner of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. For more information on the important work of CharityWorks and the upcoming Dream Ball, visit CharityWorksDC.org

VERMONT AVE NW | LOGAN CIRCLE

In 1875, this residence was built for one of DC’s President-appointed Commissioners following the Civil War. In the early 20th Century, Annie Oakley, the famous rodeo star, purchased the home for her daughter, who was a wealthy socialite in DC at the time. Some real estate brokers in DC even refer to the address as the Annie Oakley House. After a period of decay, the house was purchased and restored by a pioneering couple in the early 1970s. The current owners bought the house in 1989 and have painstakingly renovated every square inch of it, bringing both a freshness of attitude and a reverence for the past.

Hosted by RICK QUINONES + JEFF SACHSE

1310 VERMONT AVE NW | LOGAN CIRCLE Built in 1880, this four story free-standing town home resides within the Logan Circle Historic District. Extensively restored by the previous owners in 1998, all original plaster molding, railings and floors were preserved. Current owners Alki and Jon Meyer further remodeled this home to meet today’s technological standards of living. The home integrates contemporary furnishings into a traditional DC Row house.
