TULANE ATHLETICS ANNUAL REPORT

MEN’S TENNIS TEAM

2018 AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS

Our goal in Tulane Athletics each year is to set a standard of excellence that others should aspire to achieve. We strive to meet that standard competitively, academically, socially, fiscally and most certainly in the experience we provide our 325 student-athletes. This document summarizes the 2017-18 school year and our progress toward setting that standard. The future is bright for Tulane. Both institutionally and athletically, all indicators are pointing up. However, we move forward only by understanding the path we have previously walked. While we won our first American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship this past spring, the progress shown academically and in the quality of experience stands out. It also positions us for the high expectations that lie ahead in the 2018-19 school year. We owe a debt of gratitude to the 125 athletic department coaches and staff, as well as our student-athletes, for a great year and the bright future ahead. As great as our outcomes may appear in the rearview mirror, the best is yet to come on the road ahead. Roll Wave!

APR REPORT Implemented in 2003 as part of an ambitious academic reform effort in Division I, the Academic Progress Rate (APR) holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term. Teams must earn a four-year average APR of 930 or above to compete in championships. APR
