Glen Douglas Hickerson, 58, resident of Bristow, OK, passed away in Tulsa, OK on August 24th due to complications related to COVID-19. Glen was born on September 8, 1961 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ronald Douglas and Virginia Hickerson. Glen grew up in Midwest City and was raised in the Presbyterian church. His parents instilled tolerant and patriotic values in him. Glen would express these values by pursuing a degree in law. He attended the University of Oklahoma’s law school achieving his Juris Doctorate. Glen was an excellent lawyer for 32 years, serving as an Assistant District Attorney and defense attorney in many Oklahoma counties. His life revolved around his children Benjamin and Jessica. He was a consistent supporter ofJessica’s passion for volleyball, and Benjamin’s pursuits as a musician. But was pleasantly surprised when Jessica became an elementary school teacher for the Deafand Benjamin became amicrobiologist. His passions liedinstudying the worldandthe people in it. All too often in his line ofwork, he saw the worst humanity had to offer, but somehow managed to focus his life on these basic principles:“Toalwaysdotherightthingevenwhenitis hard,tostanduptoinjusticeinallitsforms,andtolive outalife thathonors ones family.” He lovedtraveling, audio books, OU sports, and spending time with his children and pets. His compassion and love for the worldis carriedoninhis childrenBenjamin(Jennifer) HickersonandJessica(Roland)Hickerson. He is survived by his sisters Mary (Michael) Flemig, Karen (Arlinda) Gleffe, his niece Kimberly (Brian) Dombroski, nephews Blake and BrettWojcak, his horses ScoutandNacho as well as manycherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald Douglas andVirginiaHickersonandhis manybeloved departedpets. A virtual live stream memorial service was held Sunday, August 30th at 1:00pm. Reverend Kirt MoellingoftheFirstUnitedMethodistChurchinYukon officiated.
