Simple Introduction to Golf

During this 4-week session, participants will be introduced to the key fundamentals of playing golf. The goal is to introduce the game of golf that allows the participants to enjoy their introduction to practicing and playing.

3 Hole Division

For players ages 8-11 and 12-14 that are relatively new to the game or tournament play.

9 Hole Gold Division

For players averaging higher than 54 strokes for 9 holes of play from regular red tees. This division will play a modified length ranging between 100 and 300 yards per hole.

9 Hole Red Division

For players averaging fewer than 54 strokes for 9 holes of play from regular red tees.

18 Hole Division

For experienced tournament players

Active Adult Trips and Tours

Our trips and tours program for active adults 50 and up offer exercise, sightseeing, photo opportunities and a chance to meet some great people. Departure location will be from the Tumwater Library parking lot. Deadline to register is one week prior to the trip.

Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens & Lilac Days

We’re heading south to Woodland to experience the Hulda Klager Lilac Garden and Lilac Days. Step back in time to discover the 1880’s Victorian farmhouse and country gardens that comprise the Gardens. Each year in the spring, the garden hosts Lilac Days to celebrate the beauty of lilacs in bloom. Buy your favorite lilacs, visit the home, and shop for gifts at the gift shop. Make sure to bring money for lunch at Rose Café and memorabilia. Price includes, trip management, transportation and admission.

The Seattle Great Wheel and the Famous Crab Pot

A day at the Seattle waterfront will include a ride on a 16-story, 175 foot Ferris wheel. It is the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast, bolted so close to the end of the pier that it extends 40 feet over the bay. We will enjoy a delicious seafood feast at the Famous Crab Pot before heading home. Price includes trip management transportation and wheel admission.

Coffee Hour with the Mayor

Tumwater is growing and changing every day. If you want to stay updated and informed, join Mayor Debbie Sullivan for a monthly coffee hour. This program will feature upcoming projects, committee updates special guests, and City news. This is a great opportunity to get to know your elected officials in the City of Tumwater. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. Preregistration is not required.

Senior Driving Workshop

Do you feel safe on the road? Nowadays, there are more cars on the road which means more ways for accidents to happen. With 52 years of experience, join Gerry Apple for an interactive workshop that covers areas such as texting, driving in bad weather, handling emergencies, freeways, stop positions, reference points, what to do in case of a collision and more. Guest speakers from Washington State Patrol and Operation Lifesaver (Railroad Safety) will be in attendance. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a certificate that will apply a 5 to 10% discount on your auto insurance over a two-year period. Feel safe again on the road.
