Introduction to Martial Arts

The U.S. Martial Arts Center offers a supportive and familyfriendly learning environment. Build self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-defense tactics, foundational life skills for success and fitness through taekwondo. A one-time $60 uniform fee is due on the first day of class. (Instructor takes this payment.)

INTRAMURAL YOUTH Middle School SPORTS & FITNESS

NEW PROGRAM!

Middle School Intramural Youth Sports and Fitness allows youth in grades 6-8 to supplement their day after school with indoor and outdoor sports opportunities. Participants will learn new skills, techniques and play modified games to help burn off some steam and unwind from the school day while supervised by our professional recreational staff. Develop learning, encourage imagination, and promote positive social skills in this intramural youth sports program. Fee includes a t-shirt. Program is open to boys and girls in the Tumwater School District. No classes will be held on holidays or during school breaks. Space is limited.

Days: Monday - Thursday Dates: Session 3: (Indoor) Jan. 23 – Feb. 16 / Fitness (MixxedFit, Yoga) Session 4: (Indoor) April 10 - May 4 / Racket Sports (Badminton, Pickle Ball) Session 5: (Indoor) May 15 - June 8 / Soccer (No class on 5/29) Time: 2:45 - 4:15 p.m. Location: Tumwater Middle School Grades: 6 - 8 Min/Max: 10/50 (Session 3: 10/20) Fee: $20 per session

Tumwater Spring Baseball League

“LET’S PLAY BALL!” Believe it or not, baseball is just around the corner. Tumwater Parks & Recreation’s spring baseball league is open to boys and girls, grades K-5. Out of district players are accepted; however, Tumwater School District players will receive priority team placement. The season runs mid-March thru May. This league has three divisions of play; K/1st, 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th. K/1st division is coach pitch for the entire season. 2nd/3rd division begins with coach pitch and progresses to kid pitch. This format significantly increases the hitter’s opportunity to put the ball in play resulting in more defensive opportunities which is fun and exciting for everyone! 4th/5th division will be kid pitch only. Season: Practices begin March 20. Games begin April 17. Season-ending Party at the Park on May 20. Register online via www.ci.tumwater.wa.us/baseball. Registration fee includes complete uniform (shirt, pants, and hat).

Monday - Friday, January 3- February 24 (Uniforms available forsizing in office upon request) Ages: Grades K- 5 Fee: $100 per player through February 24. Late Fee: $110 per player after February 24. Late registrations will be processed only if space is available and assigned to teams/schools needing players.

Calling all Coaches!

Volunteer coaches are needed! Coach’s meeting will be held on Thursday, March 9 at Tumwater Fire Department Training Room, 6:00 p.m. Coach’s packets will be available online (www.ci.tumwater.wa.us/baseball), beginning in January.

Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Skyhawks Basketball Skills Clinic

Your young athlete will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for their next step into basketball. Areas of focus are dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. By the end of the program, your child will have learned new life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship, made new friends and improved their basketball skills.

Skyhawks Basketball Hoopster Tots (for ages 2 - 3)

Learning basketball has never been more fun! These classes focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to provide the right amount of challenge.
