Design Research began with building automatons. We were asked to choose one of exemplar projects, which we would analyse-crutinising “what” our chosen mechanism does, “why” and “how”. We built a working physical replica - that is Passive Dynamic Walker. The concept is learning through making. Alongside physical models we built digital models and simulations to explore the gap between the analogue and digital. Also,we were asked to investigate our device intimately and throughly to ascertain an outlook as to how such a device may serve to open up a diaglogue between a building and its context,environmental,social or political
