The imperial city of Rabat

Rabat, the capital of Morocco, is one of the country’s four imperial cities. Rabat’s iconic landmark, the Hassan Tower, was built when the city was capital of the Sultanate. The tower is now located within one of the city’s upmarket residential areas. With its various districts, this city has many facets. The traditional souk with its surrounding wall can still be found in the old town, and the Ville Nouvelle offers magnificent boulevards and Art Deco buildings.

Magical Marrakech

Snake charmers and fortune tellers, jugglers and spice traders – the Djamaa el-Fna market place is the hotspot for everything that makes Marrakech a living fairytale.

The red facades lining the maze of oriental streets conceal magnificent mosques, cool courtyards and luxurious gardens. One hallmark of the people here is their warm hospitality, which often finds expression in a cup of sweet tea.

The diversity of the Canary Islands

Whilst autumn winds are blowing the leaves from the trees elsewhere, the Canary Islands still have many months of sunshine ahead. These ‘Islands of Eternal Spring’ may all share the same pleasant climate, but each one impresses with its own inimitable beauty. Gran Canaria offers vast beaches and a vibrant urban scene. And with fine sand dunes, such as those found on Fuerteventura, and the peculiar lava-sculpted landscapes of Lanzarote, the Canary Islands are one of the planet’s most intriguing places to explore by sea, offering an abundance of unique scenery and culture.

Exclusive evening in Manrique’s lava chambers

César Manrique is undoubtedly Lanzarote’s most famous son. With Jameos del Agua, he took partially collapsed volcanic caves and turned them into a stunning architectural ensemble: Here black lava rock, a glistening white pool and tropical plants combine to form a surreal work of art.

A familiar name and an innovative newcomer: taste sensations ahoy!

On board (Málaga – Agadir): star chef Thomas Martin

Born in Mannheim, Thomas Martin has been heading up the kitchen at Jacobs Restaurant at Hotel Louis C. Jacob in Hamburg since 1997. The two-star chef’s sophisticated and delicious creations are testament to his creativity and finesse, and his light French cuisine is simple, yet full of flair. With a wealth of experience, he will enchant guests with his skill at our gala dinner.

On board (Agadir – Las Palmas): star chef Philipp Stein

In Agadir, a new face will come aboard in the form of Philipp Stein, one of the youngest Michelin-starred chefs in Germany and rising star of the year 2014 according to Feinschmecker magazine. After completing his training, Philipp Stein embarked on a tour of discovery, visiting famous restaurants both on land and at sea. Today, he is head chef at the Restaurant Favorite in Mainz, where his dishes are influenced by the ideas he has collected from around the world. “Refined, but not complicated; sometimes traditional, sometimes unconventional.”

Depending upon the circumstances, it is possible that other gourmet chefs will be on board for this trip.
