Davant de l’antic barri de pescadors, és una zona de gran potencial i reclam turístic, on s’hi concentra gran part de l’oferta gastronòmica, lúdica i d’allotjament. Antigament, les barques sortien a la mar des d’aquesta platja. Els pescadors feien lliscar les barques damunt d’unes travesses de fusta posades a la sorra, i les arrossegaven amb un cable. El cable passava per les politges d’un motor, conegut com «la màquina», i per un bloc de formigó situat a l’aigua. Davant del bloc, a la sorra, s’hi pot veure una rèplica en miniatura de la caseta on estava instal·lada «la màquina».
In front of the old fishermen’s quarter is an up-and-coming area that is highly attractive to tourists and is the focal point of most of the local cuisine, entertainment and accommodation. The boats used to head out to sea from this beach and the fishermen slid them along the sand, placing wooden sleepers underneath and pulling them with a cable. The cable passed through the pulleys of a motor, known as “the machine”, and over a concrete block in the sea. A miniature replica of the hut where “the machine” was installed can be seen on the sand in front of the block.
