HERITAGE
Church of La Asunción and Almonte bridge (Jaraicejo) Surrounded by an extensive and beautiful dehesa, Jaraicejo is well worth a visit to discover the church of La Asunción and the bridge over the River Almonte, both Sites of Cultural Interest.
18 villages of particular heritage interest
Church of San Juan Bautista (Saucedilla) Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1993. It dates back to the 16th century and is in the Renaissance style. Particularly noteworthy are its dimensions, its main altarpiece in the Baroque style and the pulpit.
Church of S. Juan Bautista (Malpartida de Pl.)
Monastery of El Cristo de la Victoria (Serradilla) This church houses the Cristo de la Victoria, a Baroque statue that is greatly honoured by residents and visitors alike, which has been credited with a large number of miracles.
Church of San Juan Bautista and railway town of Monfragüe (Malpartida de Plasencia) The unique architecture of the railway town and the extraordinary 17th Century altarpiece in the church of San Juan Bautista are well worth a visit.
Honey
La matanza (pig)
Honey and cheeses These are two of the area's main products, due to the fact that beekeeping and shepherding are two of the reserve's main activities: don't leave without a good cheese or a delicious jar of honey.
