Para hoy hemos dejado una de nuestras visitas preferidas: el Parque Natural de las Salinas de Santa Pola. Cientos de flamencos ofrecen una espectacular postal desde la Torre del Tamarit o desde el Museo de la Sal (22).

We've left one of our favourite visits for last: the Salinas de Santa Pola Nature Reserve. Hundreds of flamingos make for a spectacular photo from the Torre del Tamarit watchtower or from the Salt Museum (22).

Si prefieres relajarte, o darte un baño, a lo largo de los 15 km. de costa podrás elegir cualquiera de nuestras playas con bandera azul, y si tienes mascota, llévala a la “Caleta dels Gossets”, junto al Centro de Investigación CIMAR, en la carretera del cabo.

If you prefer to relax or have a swim, you have 15 km of coastline with our Blue Flag beaches to choose from, and if you're a dog owner, take your furry friend to “Caleta dels Gossets”, a cove close to the CIMAR Research Centre on the headland road.

También puedes hacer una ruta de senderismo: te proponemos una que te lleva directamente al Mirador del Faro (19), y que tardarás unas 2 horas en realizar entre ida y vuelta. Las vistas valdrán la pena!!!

You can also explore a hiking trail: we suggest the one that takes you straight to the Santa Pola lighthouse viewpoint (19) and takes around 2 hours for the round trip. The views will be worth it!!!

Y con todo lo propuesto, creemos que tienes más que suficiente para disfrutar de 2 días a tope en nuestro precioso pueblo de pescadores. Ahh...una cosa más, si vienes con niñ@s, no olvides llevarlos al parque de atracciones POLAPARK. Disfrutarán muchísimo.

With all our suggestions, we think you have more than enough to enjoy 2 packed days in our beautiful fishing town. Oh... and another thing, if you come with children don't forget to take them to the POLAPARK amusement park. They'll have a fantastic time.

Hoy te proponemos ir de compras, pero primero, ¿qué tal si desayunas unos churros recién hechos en el Mercado Central? Así, con las pilas cargadas, ya podrás hacer la compra de fruta, verdura, carne, pescado, encurtidos, salazones y dulces, dentro del propio Mercado Central (7).

Another option is to buy fresh products in Viguetas street market (8), opposite the bus station (9). On Saturdays you can also buy very affordable footwear, bags and clothing there.

If adrenaline is what you need, any of our sports companies can give you what you're looking for: * Submerge yourself in the clear waters around the island of Tabarca with one of the local scuba diving companies: Anthias Team (10) at the Yacht Club (691696601), Dive Academy (11) at Marina Miramar (606373482) and Scuba Elx (12) on Paseo Adolfo Suárez (636979463). * Try your hand at SUP or kayaking with Be Water Sports (13), Avenida Santiago Bernabeu Cala I (722845420) or Parres Water Sports (14) on Tamarit beach (629632009). * Take a windsurfing lesson with Club Windsurf Area (617362365) or with Club Windsurf Santa Pola (640326402), both on Avenida Blasco Ibáñez (15). * Do paragliding with an instructor: call any of the local companies offering this unforgettable experience and take a leap off the launch runway (16). Tras la comida y el postre, en el que no debe faltar el “blanco y negro” o café granizado con mantecado, una visita que no puedes perderte es la llegada de los barcos a la lonja, en el puerto pesquero (1). Es magnífico observar las embarcaciones atracando en el muelle de pesca y ver cómo desembarcan el pescado fresco de la bahía. Más de 3000 cajas pasan a diario por la lonja de Santa Pola, una de las más activas de todo el Mediterráneo.

After lunch and dessert – and don't forget to treat yourself to a “blanco y negro” or coffee frappe with a scoop of ice cream – one visit you can't miss is the arrival of the boats at the fish market in the harbour (1). It's fantastic to watch the fishing boats tying up at the quay and watch how they unload the daily catch of fresh fish from the bay. More than 3,000 boxes go through Santa Pola's fish market every day; it's one of the busiest on the entire Mediterranean.

Después podrás acercarte a la Peixateria de la Cofradía de pescadores (2), junto al barco-museo (3), a comprar nuestra insuperable gamba roja, o Peix de Santa Pola, incluso el famoso Caldo de Caldero, con el que podrás preparar ese plato tan sabroso hecho a base de pescado y patatas.

Next you can go to the Peixateria (fish shop) run by the fishermen's guild (2), next door to the boat museum (3), to buy some of our wonderful red prawns or any of the local fish (look out for the Peix de Santa Pola mark), including the famous "Caldo de Caldero", a fish broth you can use to make this tasty fish-based dish. Para comer tienes unas cuantas opciones: o bien otro arrocito, o una fideuà, unos gazpachos de mero, pescadito frito, calamares a la romana, gamba roja a la plancha, lo que se te antoje. En Santa Pola hay tanta oferta que solo tienes que pensar: qué me apetece comer hoy???

As well as visiting the Boat Museum, you can also go and see the Municipal Aquarium (4) and spend some time in one of the oldest aquariums in the Comunitat Valenciana. Check the opening times here: http://bit.ly/2gusocP

Por la tarde, nada mejor que “anar a fer la milla”, que no es otra cosa que ir a caminar junto al mar. Desde la plaza Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente (17) hasta “la cadena” (18), siguiendo el paseo marítimo dirección este, hay un recorrido precioso de 3 km. que hacemos la mayoría de l@s santapoler@s para estar en forma.

Totalmente imprescindible es ver una de nuestras increíbles puestas de sol. Desde el mirador del Faro de Santa Pola (19), o desde la Torre del Pep (20) , la Torre del Tamarit o al inicio de Gran Playa, junto al Club Náutico (21), cualquiera de estos puntos ofrece espectaculares “sunsets”.

Además de visitar el Barco-museo, puedes acercarte al Acuario municipal (4) a recrearte en uno de los acuarios más antiguos de la Comunitat Valenciana. The first thing is to eat something traditional, right? Well, we suggest a rice dish, but let's not call it paella... let's use its real name: rice.

Black rice, "a banda" rice, rice with seafood pieces, rice with tuna and prawns, or our most traditional but least known rice: “arrós i gatet” (with dogfish). They'll all be delicious. Try them at any of Santa Pola's restaurants, better still, go to one of our restaurants with the "Estrella de Mar" (Starfish) emblem.

Today we suggest you take a shopping trip, but first, how about a breakfast of freshly made churros in the Central Market? Once you've recharged your batteries, you can buy some fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, pickled and salted food and sweet treats, all inside the Central Market (7).

Otra opción es ir a comprar productos frescos al mercadillo de viguetas (8), justo frente a la estación de autobuses (9). Los sábados podrás, además, adquirir calzado, bolsos y ropa a muy buen precio.

Si lo que necesitas es adrenalina, cualquiera de nuestras empresas de deportes podrán darte lo que buscas: * Una inmersión en las cristalinas aguas de la isla de Tabarca con una de las empresas de buceo locales: Anthias Team (10) en el Club Naútico (691696601), Dive Academy (11) en Marina Miramar (606373482) o Scuba Elx (12) en el Paseo Adolfo Suárez (636979463). * Un paseo en sup o kayac con las empresas Be Water Sports (13), avda. Lo primero es comer algo típico, no? Pues te proponemos un arrocito, nada de paellas….lo llamaremos por su nombre: arroz. Arroz negro, a banda, con tropezones, del senyoret, con atún y gambitas, o nuestro arroz más tradicional y menos conocido: el “arrós i gatet”. Todos estarán deliciosos. Pruébalo en cualquiera de los restaurantes de Santa Pola, y mejor si es en uno de nuestros restaurantes distinguidos con la Estrella de Mar.

For lunch you have several options: another rice dish or a "fideuà" (with noodles), gazpacho with grouper, little fried fish, squid rings in batter, griddled red prawns, whatever you fancy. In Santa Pola there's so much to choose from that all you have to do is think "what do I feel like eating today?".

In the afternoon, your best bet is “anar a fer la milla”, which actually means going for a walk. From Plaza Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente (17) to “the chain” (18), going east along the seafront promenade, there's a beautiful 3 km walk that most Santa Pola locals, "l@s santapoler@s", do to keep fit.

One thing you simply can't miss is one of our amazing sunsets. From the viewpoint at the Santa Pola lighthouse (19), or from the Torre del Pep (20) and Torre del Tamarit watchtowers, or at the start of Gran Playa beach, next to the Yacht Club (21), any of these locations is a great spot for watching spectacular sunsets.
