Seniors unite for CVSS4 BY FRANKIE TOVAR
Welcome to the Fourth Annual Central Valley Senior Showcase! The Turlock Journal family is happy to once again host this event for the community, bringing the area’s top senior basketball players together for friendly competition and a chance to earn a share of $2,000 in scholarship awards for college. This year we have players from 10 local schools – Turlock, Pitman, Turlock Christian, Denair, Delhi, Hilmar, Ceres, Central Valley, Oakdale and Hughson – many of whom have been playing

basketball all their lives. Our hope is that these seniors will get to compete with and against familiar faces and strangers alike, in front of friends, family, and staff from their respective campuses in a final high school sendoff that will live long in their memories. We also made sure to keep the spectators in mind, too. In addition to the pair of
dance
basketball games, those in attendance will also be privy to dance routines, a special National Anthem performance, a raffle with items from more than 25 local businesses and a chance to win a flat screen TV in our boys’ halftime shooting contest! We would like to thank everyone in attendance, all the participating players and coaches, event sponsors, school officials, volunteers and whoever else had a hand in making this year’s Central Valley Senior Showcase possible. Now, let’s get ready for tip off !!!!
