Kids Club Summer Fun Pack Giveaway Enroll your children in the educational kids club program at the Stanislaus County Fair for a chance to play and win a summer fun pack. KAT Country 103 has once again partnered with the Stanislaus County Fair’s Kids Club program to give away a fun pack, including four Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets, four Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk tickets and two $40 Fandango Gift Cards, to one child who completes the interactive kids club passport. “Fair is all about providing a fun experience for families to enjoy themselves in, as well as gain knowledge from,”

Imagine the Fun at the 2018 Fair

kidsclub, in the parent sign up section. Children that are registered for the Kid’s Club program will receive two Fair carnival ride tickets and must check in at the Fair’s Information Booth for a free tote bag filled with great items from our sponsors. When children complete the passport questions, they must turn in the passport to the Fair for a chance to win the summer fun pack. All passports must be turned in to the Fair’s Information Booth by the last day of the Fair, July 22 at 11 p.m.

said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “With the educational passport activity, we are ensuring that our youth is not only exposed to a variety of different topics but are being questioned about them in order to win a prize – a fun incentive to ensure they pay close attention and absorb the knowledge.” Kids Club members receive a unique, educational experience at the Fair by answering questions in a passport book that relate to agriculture and livestock, horticulture, science, floriculture, and so on. Parents must register their children through the Fair’s website at www.stancofair.com/

The 2018 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 13 for a 10-day run. Fair guests can count on an award-winning experience that has been over 107 years in the making. Discounted Fair admission tickets and unlimited ride wristbands are on sale through Thursday. Corporate ticket sales will also be available to purchase at a highly discounted rate. Tickets at the gate are $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 7-12 and for senior citizens. The 2018 Fair will feature a spectacular children’s area presented by Sky Trek Aviation. Also planned for 2018 are 10-nights of free celebrity concerts included with Fair admission, a total of three stages of live entertainment, upwards of 30,000 local exhibits and over 1,750 animals. Metal-mashing motorsports and rodeo in the FoodMaxx Arena will also be featured. Visit the Fair’s website for upcoming ticket sale information at www.stancofair.com. To receive Fair announcements, follow the Fair on Facebook at facebook.com/stancofair or Twitter and Instagram @stancofair.

Free Turlock bus rides during Fair The City of Turlock officials have approved free bus rides on Turlock Transit from July 9-22, to include the run of the Stanislaus County Fair. Turlock Transit will allow all routes to be free of charge to patrons riding their busses during the run of the Fair. Bus Route 2, as highlighted in the map provided, will run an additional bus and pick up from CSU Stanislaus on Monte Vista Ave with pickup times being every 15 minutes from that route. Route 2 will also run through midnight when the Fair closes, as well as during Fair hours on Sundays. The closest drop-off to the Fair with Route 2 will be on Fulkerth Rd. at N. Soderquist Rd. There are additional drop-off locations close to the Fairgrounds, as shown on the map. Stanislaus State is also providing free parking in parking lot 2 for guests using the Monte Vista Ave pick up.

“The city is proud to be home of the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds,” said Gary Soiseth, City of Turlock Mayor. “This new partnership for transportation will be the right welcome to all visitors that come to our great city to enjoy the fair and it will demonstrate the great bus services we have to offer.” The Fair’s previous shuttle program will not be in place this year in order to focus on existing transportation methods. “The Fair is excited for this new partnership with Turlock’s Transit system,” said Matt Cranford, CEO of the Stanislaus County Fair. “This can provide the beginnings for local transportation to become an integral part of access to the Fair.” Riding the bus is accessible to all patrons coming to Turlock during Fair. The route schedule can be found online at www.turlocktransit.com.

empowHER Lounge: Inspiring future leaders The Stanislaus County Fair is hoping to inspire young women once again this year with the empowHER Lounge. The empowHER Lounge is a place of resource that will help cultivate empowerment and confidence in girls 16 and older. “The empowHER Lounge is a great source for young women in our community to be exposed to various life topics that may seem basic but can, in fact, determine what type of person they grow up to be,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “This lounge will make them aware of the importance of their online image, feeling confident, speaking up when necessary and finding one’s cause, among many other subjects.” Alkhas created the lounge with the mentality of teaching young women how to support and nurture one another instead of subduing to the female norm of consistently competing and comparing. Setting such a tone will undeniably yield successful leaders of the future. Through informative and

interactive workshops, the empowHER Lounge will be able to support this goal. W.E.L.L. Leadership, a woman’s education and leadership league, will be providing daily presentations on how one should conduct themselves in different aspects of their daily lives. Guests who sign up for the seminars will also receive a Fair and Vintage Faire Mall Swag bag (maximum of 40 guests per session will be allowed). The lounge will also provide daily hair and makeup tutorials, presented by Toni ‘n Guy. Young women will be mentored by professionals on the latest styles and trends inspired by natural beauty. They will be encouraged to embrace and accentuate their natural features. Participating retailers from Vintage Faire Mall will also have a back-to-school product display and fashions geared towards educating young women on how to dress for the life they want to lead. The lounge will be open daily during the Fair on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
