International Business Expert Turku University of Applied Sciences will implement a professional education programme International Business Expert. The programme will be organized as labour market training in cooperation with Avaintulos Oy and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Southwest Finland. The programme will last from 1 October 2018 to 29 May 2019. It is targeted for participants who have a commercial or technical academic-level degree and work experience in international business. The participants are expected to be fluent in Finnish and English. We will choose 20 applicants for the project after an interview conducted by the organizers of the programme. Our main goal is that the participants are employed in their project work companies after the programme.
The companies must manage the market-specific business cultures and negotiation styles, customer-based selling, marketing and branding, bureaucratic procedures, financing and risk management as well as business legislation to succeed in the challenging Asia-Pacific and European markets. The most crucial element in demanding international business is the mutual trust between the parties. This demands a thorough familiarity with the special characteristics of the region, systematic training, and building, maintaining and developing one’s own network. Mr. Jukka Lahtinen, a special expert in the programme and CEO of Avaintulos Oy, states: ‘Our main goal is to help Finnish companies and their personnel for getting valuable data from Asia-Pacific and European markets, for launching and developing their businesses and for creating a successful business model for these markets.’
What Is Your Benefit from the Programme? •

Your company will get a professional project worker, trained by our 30 experts, to work in Your company for around 5 months (from January to May 2019). The project worker can work in Finland or abroad, defined by Your company. The representative of Your company can, at company’s expense, participate in our business tour to China and Hong Kong or Germany in May 2019.

The company is operational and solid. The company has business activities or actual plans in Asia or Central Europe. The company clearly needs to recruit an expert for its international businesses. The company is committed to guiding the project worker during on-the-job period.
The total participation fee, payable by the project work company to Turku University of Applied Sciences for a period of 8 months (160 days), is EUR 2 000 (+ 24% VAT).
How Will the Programme Proceed? • • •

The teaching period is carried out on 1 Oct–31 Dec 2018 and 18–22 Mar 2019. The holiday period of the participants takes place on 18– 22 Feb 2019 (5 days). The participants take a business tour in China and Hong Kong in May 2019 (8 days) and in Germany in May 2019 (7 days). The participants can work for their project work company during the teaching period, if all three parties agree on this.
