Bacherlor of Engineering in ICT At Turku UAS, all teaching is based on Innovation Pedagogy. This is a learning and teaching method developed at Turku UAS to answer the needs of working life. Students are encouraged to pursue cross-field studies and acquire entrepreneurial mindset.

Objectives

Content and structure of the program

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) deals with technologies, methods and tools such as software applications, data networks and cybersecurity, games and hi-tech electronic devices and systems. This programme offers you versatile opportunities as a future ICT professional.

The curriculum consists of basic and professional studies as well as practical training and a Bachelor’s thesis project. Basic studies contain basics of ICT, language and communication courses, and coaching in study skills. During the professional studies, the student chooses the specialization amongst the following competence tracks such as Data Networks and Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity and IoT, Embedded Software and IoT, Game and Interactive Technologies, Health Technology and Software Engineering & Project Management.

An ICT engineering graduate has wide and practicallyoriented fundamental knowledge and skills. After graduation, you are able to follow and contribute to the development of your field. Your studies will strengthen your capabilities to promote life-long learning, your language and communication skills, and prepare you for working in international environment. Typical positions of ICT engineering graduates include Cyber Security Specialist, Game Developer, Hardware Engineer, IT Specialist, Project Manager, Software Designer, System Administrator and UX Designer.

The studies typically contain several real-life research and development projects that are implemented together with companies. Studying with us, you will participate in a lot of teamwork, laboratory work and project work.

Tuition fee and scholarship programme The tuition fee is EUR 11500 per academic year for non-EU/EEA students who start their studies in degree programmes offered in English. Turku UAS grants scholarships based on Finnish language skills. The scholarship is EUR 4000 and the student can receive one scholarship per academic year by completing a Finnish language level test.


We value problem-based learning, and incorporate our students in hands-on projects from the beginning. The learning process is supported by lectures, laboratory exercises, virtual courses, seminar presentations, and individual tutoring.

Co-operation with the industry and postgraduate study opportunities The programme has strong connections to the ICT industry and other degree programmes locally, nationally and internationally. This provides unique opportunities for students to network and interact with industry contacts during their studies in the Salo IoT campus. We implement research and development projects together with numerous local and international partners. You can benefit from this network in many ways during the studies. In addition, our students participate actively in the events and competitions organized in the field. In our various learning environments, you can learn working life skills by working in practical projects. As a Bachelor of Engineering, you may apply to a wide selection of Master’s programmes in Finland or abroad.

Eligibility and selection criteria The applicant is eligible to apply if he/ she has completed a qualification outside Finland that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the awarding country or with a non-Finnish higher education degree. Selection method is an SAT test or an interview.
