The YS-D1 is the world’s first slave TTL strobe equipped with an exposure compensation (EV) control function. By controlling the actual ﬂash light level, the strobe realizes accurate exposure compensation with EV value. Regardless of a compact or a SLR camera, you can achieve any desired exposure compensation. However, many TTL systems are not reliable. The YS-D1 s DS-TTL exposure compensation function allows users to adjust the light level in TTL mode (-1.5EV, -1EV, -0.7EV, -0.3EV, +-0EV, +0.3EV, +0.7EV, +1EV, +1.5EV).

Conventional Sync Cord N can be used by removing the connector cap and then ﬁxing the Optional Sync Cord Connector N on the housing. The Strobe Connector N can be easily ﬁxed by consumers. Even when the connector gets wet, the connector can be replaced on the spot.

Though the housing boasts depth rating of 100mm/330ft, buttons on the housing can be eﬀortlessly depressed. As necessary controls for movie shooting can be manipulated with levers, subtle control is possible. The positions of the grips have been revised for better access to various controls.

By attaching the VF180 or the VF45 prism viewfinder (magnification ratio of 1.2x) to a SEA&SEA housing, the magnification increases by 1.2x and entire field of view can be seen at the same time. Recommended for users committed to strict composition and focusing.

The quick shoe makes the camera easy to install and remove from the housing. A built-in leak sensor immediately alerts you to any water leakage. The diameter of the ball is 24.8mm. The O-ring for the ball, which is made of synthetic rubber, has high wear resistance and durability. There are two ways to control the focus or zoom gears. One option enables control with an adjustment knob on the port such as the NX Zoom Port. The other option enables control with the Focus/Zoom dial located on the housing.(Refer to *1 to *5.) Mounting a gear on a lens is easy. Hold the gear parallel to the lens and push in the gear until the designated position as outlined in the instructions provided with the gear. (Mounting instructions may vary depending on lens.)
