Mountain Lakes Community Federal Credit Union and Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union are combining our credit unions and we want to make your account transition as easy as possible!


Welcome to Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, we look forward to serving you!

On July 1, 2018, your Mountain Lakes Community Federal Credit Union account(s) will automatically convert to Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union account(s). We want to ensure your transition is smooth, so please read this guide so you know what to expect, what existing services require your attention and what new services will be available.

Account Number

At this time, we are still in the process of transferring account numbers. There is a possibility your account number may change, but we will try to accommodate keeping it as close to what it is now. Information about your new account number will be sent to you prior to the merger. If you have not received the information by that date, please call us at (423) 538-3151 or (800) 467-5427.

Branches & ATMs

On July 1, 2018, MLCFCU branches will open as Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. In addition, you can also do your banking at any of the twenty Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union branches located in East Tennessee. You will also have access to more than 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs on the AllPoint network.

Checking Accounts

Your existing MLCFCU checking account will automatically convert to a KTVAECU checking account. You will receive a free box of KTVAECU checks in the mail by June 20, 2018. If you do not receive your checks, please let us know! You may use your MLCFCU checks until June 30, 2018. On July 1, 2018, your MLCFCU checks will no longer be valid and you will need to begin using your KTVAECU checks. Any MLCFCU checks written prior to June 30, 2018 that have not cleared your account, will automatically be routed to clear your new KTVAECU account.

Overdraft Protection Allows transactions to clear your checking account in the event of insufficient funds by automatically transferring funds from another account at the Credit Union.

Courtesy Pay Allows the Credit Union to cover insufficient funds items on debit card purchases, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, ATM withdrawals, checks and ACH transactions, up to the approved limit. This means instead of returning a check to the merchant because of insufficient funds, the Credit Union may process your transaction, saving you additional charges from the merchant. Courtesy pay transactions are paid at the Credit Union’s discretion and must be repaid within 45 calendar days. There is a fee per covered overdraft transaction. Please refer to the fee schedule for details.

ATM & Debit Cards

Your MLCFCU debit/ATM card will be reissued as a new KTVAECU Visa Debit Card and will be mailed to you before June 20, 2018 for use starting July 1, 2018. Upon receipt of your new card, please follow the instructions to activate it. Please continue using your MLCFCU debit card until 11:59pm EST on June 30, 2018. Any MLCFCU debit card transactions made prior to June 30, 2018 that have not cleared your account, will automatically be routed to clear your new KTVAECU account.

All debit cards will be unavailable from 12am (midnight) until 8am on July 1, 2018. You may begin using your KTVAECU debit card at 8am on July 1, 2018.

Direct Deposits & Automatic Payments from Checking Direct Deposits and automatic payments (such as payroll, Social Security benefits, gym membership fees, etc.) will automatically be redirected to your KTVAECU account on July 1, 2018. However, we do recommend you double check with your employer and merchants you have automatic payments set up with after the merger to confirm they have processed your new account information.

Change in Terms and Fee Schedules

Starting July 1, 2018, your credit union membership account terms and schedule of fees will change. There will no longer be a $4 fee for checking accounts after the first year with a daily balance less than $500.00. Your new KTVAECU checking account has no monthly fee and no minimum balance requirement! A packet of information including a new Schedule of Fees and Account Agreement will be mailed to you in June. Please review and retain this information for your records.

Loans & Credit Cards

There will be no changes to your loan terms or rates. If you currently pay your loan using payment coupons, you will receive a new coupon book before July 1, 2018. If you have GAP coverage, nothing will change. If you have Credit Life & Disability insurance, you will receive a separate communication on your policy. Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union offers a Visa Credit Card that earns rewards redeemable for cash! Your new KTVAECU VisaÂŽ Credit Card will be issued to you before July 1, 2018. Upon receipt of your new card, please follow the activation instructions and begin using!

Telephone Banking

Effective July 1, 2018, Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union’s telephone banking (D.I.A.L.) will be available for your access. Your initial login is your KTVAECU account number and the personal identification number (PIN) is the last four (4) digits of your primary telephone number. Call (865) 544-5675 or (866) KTVAECU (588-2328) for direct access to telephone banking.

Account Statements

Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union offers two ways to receive monthly statements. You may receive a paper statement in the mail for $2 per month or enroll in free eStatements. Monthly statements show all activity, including debit card, online banking and telephone banking transactions. If you prefer to avoid the $2 monthly fee, you can sign up for eStatements after logging into online banking.

All deposits at Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

NEW Bill Pay

KTVAECU’s online banking also offers Members free Bill Pay. With Bill Pay, you can set up bills to pay automatically each month, or make a one-time payment to another person or business. Bill Pay works just like a check, just without writing the check or needing postage to mail it! You can pay a business, organization or individual! Bill Pay is available through online banking and the mobile app!
