Qualified teachers lead the way in the Pre-Prep Centre, providing structured learning experiences in a play-based curriculum.
The Annandale Campus Pre-Prep Centre offers full time programmes, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks per year. Three, four and five day programmes are available. All programmes are CCB accredited. In Pre-Prep children begin their educational journey, not only developing their cognitive, physical and social abilities to their full potential, but also with a sense of joy and enthusiasm for school. the Classroom At a young age, children are eager to learn, ready to embrace new and exciting possibilities. At Grammar they can safely sample a rich variety of different activities to help them discover those which give them most satisfaction. Beyond their daily classroom routine, children have the opportunity to partake in a wide range of co-curricular activities, including musical groups for choirs and ensembles. Every student in Year 3 participates in an integrated String Programme to introduce the joy of music to their lives. There are many different sporting clubs including rugby, netball and swimming offered on both an annual and seasonal basis. Additionally, swimming is taught in all grades from Prep. An array of individual and team pursuits are also offered such as art club, chess club, computer club, scottish dancing, public speaking, readers cup, optiminds, STEM club, homework club, maths olympiad and many others that cater for different talents and skills. F acilities Townsville Grammar School offers fully air-conditioned, purpose built classrooms. All classrooms are resourced with contemporary technology such as interactive whiteboards and access to wireless networked laptop computers. All classrooms have a quiet reading room, a kitchen, practical learning area and a preparation room. The library features multiple learning areas and a media room including untethered teaching aids, smart boards, interactive white boards and a high ratio of electronic media to children. Other facilities include large covered areas where children can play and have their PE classes, large ovals, the Arts Cottage, an activity room designed for Performing Arts and Outside School Hours Care programmes, and fully equipped music specialist teaching spaces. Buses from the North Ward and North Shore campuses also help to unite the Grammar community and the Grammar Junior children regularly visit their friends on another campus for combined learning and laughing opportunities.
