WADI BANI AUF | DAY 3 We leave Muscat early morning for our cross-country adventure, starting with one of the most popular canyons in Oman, Snake Canyon. The canyon is stunning with its narrow and winding pathway and steep walls rising 100m above. The trip is a perfect introduction to canyoning. Our route is full of obstacles, expect small abseils, slides and scrambles at every turn, get ready to traverse through the pools and use a few awesome jumping opportunities to get your adrenaline going. If you are looking for a real adrenaline rush, we suggest taking a longer route with an 8- and 30- abseil our team will lower you off from and a lot more swimming. We head to the local village of Bilad Sayt for lunch and later exploration of this oasis nested at the foothills of Western Hajar mountains. Learn about the history, traditions and unique irrigation systems of the mountain villages in the Sultanate. We settle for the night and enjoy wild camping experience in the middle of the mountains with minimum light pollution.

JEBEL SHAMS | DAY 4 Our morning starts with a scenic drive to the highest mountain in the region, Jebel Shams. Today you have a chance to experience the canyon up-close as we set on a 4-hour trek. With panoramic views of Oman’s ‘Grand Canyon’, this is an incredible adventure. The hike is not difficult, and the views are breath-taking. Following one of the former goat paths along the edge of the canyon, we make our way to the recently abandoned village of Sap Bani Khamis and a spring-fed lake above it. We enjoy our lunch in the shade provided by the cave behind and admiring the views over. The route back is the reverse route, so now we get those spectacular views from another angle. The gentle descent we enjoyed in the morning makes us work a little harder on the way back. *If you are looking for more adrenaline, instead of trekking back, we will use an old villager’s route up the mountain, now the Via Ferrata. This entry level climbing route, protected by a steel cable, reaches all the way up 200m cliffs to the top of the plateau. Head for heights is required as you are climbing the rock face with a 2000m canyon behind you.
