Modern Design Summer’s of the 60’s have returned at the Diss Auction Rooms with the second Modern Design sale of the year. Glass from Scandinavia, Italy and the Sklo Union, Fat Lava ceramics, Poole Delphis and Bitossi joining fabrics including John Piper and Howard Carter, certainly making a colourful splash in the saleroom taking you back to those hedonistic days. The Italian designer Piero Fornasetti is featured this time with four lots of the popular plates produced in various series and these are a good contrast to the studio pottery section of the same era with Bernard Leach and Michael Cardew represented. For the art lovers amongst you then we have three wonderful bronzes including William Charles Holland King and Norwich’s own Vanessa Pooley. Keeping local we have artworks by Tessa Newcomb, John Kiki, Peter Campbell and James Dodds whilst further afield signed prints by Eduardo Paolozzi. Lots to tempt you I hope so come and take a journey back in time, 1966 and all that!
