When TWR began, we used the most cutting-edge technology of the day –radio. Radio waves allowed us to reach into places where it was difficult to send people. Today, we remain true to our calling by using the most cutting-edge technologies of the day to speak hope to the world.
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2023, TWR Canada continues to use the legacy technology of radio, but we do so much more! With each ministry opportunity the Lord calls us to participate in, we seek to use the most effective and efficient technology. In many cases radio is still the best way to communicate, but it is no longer the only way. In some locations, where the internet is safe and reliable, we use websites or phone apps as the medium to reach the hearts of seekers with the gospel and provide new believers an opportunity to be discipled. In situations
where Christians are persecuted for their beliefs, we use secure SD cards that are easy to distribute and contain media content so people can listen and learn in a private location.
Throughout this newsletter, we highlight many of the ways that TWR Canada partners with the Church to mobilize God’s people to fulfill the Great Commission. Using media content, training initiatives, and the most appropriate technology, our goal is to connect the message of God’s love and the truths of the Bible to the hearts of people wanting to know more about the hope that we have within us.

Our Bible-centred programs provide relevant teaching in more than 50 languages for use all over the world.
Training events, discipleship programs and online resources equip church leaders and believers to reproduce Christfollowers effectively.
Apps, websites, radio, portable devices and more allow us to reach the unreached with the gospel and disciple believers.
Short or long-term missionaries serve all around the world to share the hope of Jesus with the nations using media.

Our broadcast media includes all forms of traditional radio: shortwave, AM, FM and satellite. It also includes other forms of mass media such as television.

Where internet access is easily available, sharing hope online allows anyone anywhere at any time to find biblical programming in their heart language.
TWR360 provides access to TWR resources as well as programming from our partners in over 100 languages.

Our 1,380 Discipleship Essentials videos across 11 languages are available on YouTube, for personal and group viewing.

Our Persian web radio station streams biblical programming and music to Persian speakers around the world. In a 3-month period last year, we had over 92,000 unique listeners!

Through our ministry teams and partners, we distribute evangelistic and discipleship resources using technology such as SD cards, media players, and print materials. These resources help facilitate relational discipleship and provide access to biblical materials in hard-to-reach or dangerous places.

Across South Asia, there are more than 15,000 radio home groups studying the Word of God through a media player.

We partner with the Church around the world to train believers to make disciples, as God calls us each to do. Through resources like Leadership Essentials for small group leaders, pastoral training through SOTA for the Chinese house church network, and conferences for seekers and believers in the Persian-speaking world, believers are being trained up in their faith to share the gospel and disciple others.

As technology has changed, so has how we train believers! While the technology provides access in the best way possible, it is the content that has continued to change lives, such as for this SOTA student: “SOTA’s curriculum is like a clear spring, nourishing my dry heart and life. It is also like a close friend who accompanies me through many lonely nights. It is also like a treasure trove of wisdom, through the Word of God. In my everyday life I have become more determined, hopeful, joyful and dependent on Christ.”

We create and distribute media content in heart languages so that more people around the world can hear the hope of the gospel and grow in faith. From radio programs to videos to printed materials, God is changing lives!
Available online in 15 languages, broadcast on high-power and FM stations, and used by church networks around the world, Discipleship Essentials is a library of discipleship resources designed to help small groups and individuals grow in faith.

Our team in Sri Lanka creates programming in response to the situations in the country and the needs of listeners. This reactive approach not only reaches Christians across the country but effectively engages with people of other faiths.
