Hey there Our mission is to build a platform and give recognition to female-identifying artists of any and all mediums. We are here to prove that doing something “like a girl” is not synonymous with “weak” or “inadequate.” We are here to show you the incredible things that women are capable of. 3 WAYS TO LOVE YOURSELF Thick, skinny, big butt, big boobs, small ones, broad shoulders, big thighs, too short .... How many of you have said something along those lines? We are our own worst critics but we develop an almost fake and commercialized perception of what we should look like. Now, more than ever, with all these surgical “fixes”, we most definitely see ourselves as imperfect, or flawed. With more and more advances in technology, media and other global social constructed views, it’s hard not to feel pressure to look like the mass we see as the image of success, the image to be, the image of what we “should” be. FYI-models are airbrushed, models wear makeup, photos are edited, social media celebrities edit their social media! Stop thinking that this is what success and happiness is because even the most successful individuals hold fear, sadness, unhappiness or dissatisfaction. No one is perfect, so love yourself because we all come from different backgrounds, childhoods, struggles or triumphs, we all have different stories. SO... 1.Exercise Self Love Improve your inner voice by thinking positively and avoiding perfectionism. Don’t call yourself names or assume the worst. Exercise self-love by listing your positive attributes and reflecting on them daily. Consider visiting a therapist. Repeat positive affirmations daily and do things you enjoy. Lastly, consider practicing loving-kindness meditation. 2. Discard your negative filter Focusing only on the negatives in your life is a bad habit. Excessive focus on negative or less favorable events in your life can make these events seem disproportionately important. If you find yourself complaining that everything that happens to you is bad, try to find a little evidence to the contrary; it is very unlikely that everything is really bad.

32

3. Stop blaming yourself for every unfortunate thing in your life There is no possible way everything bad is your fault. It’s just not how it goes. Now if you perhaps intentionally hurt someone, maybe you can take the ownership for all of that. Love, weight, the size of your nose, ears, eyes, the money you grew up into, the neighborhood you were raised; these aren’t things you could necessarily control so ease up. Focus on things that you can change you can change at a certain point in life. If you don’t like your upbringing, your neighborhood, your hair color...etc, don’t think it may never change or be better or to something of your liking but rather mold your life to your goals and ideal life. Don’t give up because even the most successful people have come from nothing. Stop blaming yourself. Love what you have because it makes you YOU!
