The University of Regina is situated on Treaty 4 lands with a presence in Treaty 6. These are the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. Today, these lands continue to be the shared territory of many diverse peoples from near and far.
We’re committed to honouring Indigenous identities by fostering community connections and infusing traditional ways of knowing, learning, and doing into teaching and research. Together, we will enhance learning, honour the past, present, and future, and create a new shared vision for future generations.

Experience U of R
Here at the University of Regina, education is an immersive experience. Though we’re proud of our world-class facilities and programming, we’ve found that learning doesn’t stop when class ends — it continues in the community, too. As the pioneer of Co-op Education in Western Canada, and with the help of the Centre for Experiential and Service Learning, it is part of our strategic plan to make sure that you’re given every opportunity to get hands-on, real-world experience. You’ll have access to two forms of financial aid from both the provincial and federal governments — loans and grants. If you apply for student loans, you’ll be required to start to repay them once you’re no longer a full-time student. Grants, in most cases, do not need to be repaid. When applying for government assistance, make sure to apply in your home province — even if you are moving to Saskatchewan to study.
Government student assistance is intended to help you pay for your education. The amount of assistance available will depend on your personal and family situation and can only be determined after you have submitted a student loan application.
