Included are comprehensive design tutorials with small projects that enable one to practice these new design workflows and skills by creating parts, assemblies, and drawings, all while making changes to one’s creations. Prerequisite: Strong proficiency using PCs.

The principles and methods of engineering design are introduced, and the critical role of graphic communication within the design process is described. INSTRUCTOR: Michael Murdock is a Research Engineer V and Mechanical Designer at UAH’s Rotorcraft Systems Engineering and Simulation Center. He has been employed over 30 years by technical, energyrelated, and military-related companies, including Fortune 500 organizations, in efforts to design, manufacture, and deploy new and improved technologies. Mr. Murdock has excellent computer-based design and implementation skills and has worked on a wide variety of products and processes. He has been involved in all phases of product and process development, from initial design through planning, development, testing, and deployment.
