CompTIA® PenTest+ is a certification for cybersecurity professionals tasked with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and management. The most qualified cybersecurity professionals have both offensive red team and defensive blue team skillsets which enable these professionals to discover system flaws and provide thorough recommendations to increase the overall security posture. This exam assesses the most up-to-date and industry-accepted penetration testing and vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools that are utilized to effectively determine the resiliency of a system against attacks. It is a unique exam requiring a candidate to demonstrate hands-on ability and knowledge to test devices in new environments such as the cloud and mobile networks, as well as traditional Enterprise IT architectures. Prerequisite: In-depth technical networking experience with an emphasis on security recommended.

Career Pathway
Todd Heflin currently supports the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) as an OPFOR Lead creating attack vectors or simulating state actor’s tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and documenting mitigations to these attacks. He is a well-versed Cybersecurity professional who has proficient experience in hardware, software, system engineering, and networking utilizing a mature technical skill set and hands-on knowledge of how to defend and attack systems in Information Technology and Operational Technology. Mr. Heflin has managed and supported a team of cyber analysts and system engineers, conducted Risk Management Framework (RMF) testing and assessment, served as a Security Control Assessor – Validator for the Army and MDA, and conducted penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on nearly all types of control systems from Building Automation Systems (BAS) to microgrids, as well as traditional information systems.
