UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY
2017 GDAC MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION UALBANYSPORTS.COM/GDAC
Dear Great Dane Supporter, On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches and administrators, thank you for interest in the University at Albany’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. As we begin 2017, I thank all of those who have supported our student-athletes through the Great Dane Athletic Club (GDAC) last year. Support from donors like you is the cornerstone for athletic and academic success at UAlbany. Our student-athletes constantly strive for excellence in competition, in the classroom and in the community. They are, simply put, GREAT LEADERS, GREAT CHAMPIONS, GREAT DANES. By giving to GDAC you are helping UAlbany Athletics grow in to a world class collegiate athletics program. It is no secret that we have reached an unprecedented level of success in recent years, and this is all thanks to the tireless effort of our Great Dane student-athletes, and of course the backing of a dedicated donor base. As the cost of tuition and other related expenses continues to rise, achieving this success has become increasingly more difficult. In 2017, our mission remains the same: to generate the revenue necessary to attract the nation’s top student-athletes and foster an environment conducive to total athletic and academic success. The only way we can continue to compete for championships and provide the best student-athlete experience in the country is with your continued support. Continuing in 2017 will be an expansion of Scholarship Seating throughout a majority of seating locations in SEFCU Arena and Casey Stadium, meaning a donation associated with a particular seat. By making this gift to GDAC you not only support all 450+ student-athletes, but you are eligible to receive benefits such as, parking, access to premium hospitality areas throughout our sporting venues and priority to purchase seating to post season play. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Your partnership is truly valued as we continue our second year of the Great Dane Athletic Club. Thank you for your commitment to UAlbany Athletics, and for continuing to inspire greatness in our student-athletes. Sincerely,
Mark Benson Director of Athletics University at Albany
What is the Great Dane Athletic Club?
The Great Dane Athletic Club serves as the primary fundraising program for UAlbany Athletics, providing athletic scholarships, capital improvements and support of our student-athletes competing in the University’s 18 Division I varsity sports. We seek engaged and passionate supporters to build on the program’s success and take UAlbany Athletics to the next level of excellence.
Why We Need Your Support Your investment is a critical component of Great Dane success. It is important that our student-athletes have the support and backing of a strong fan base. Your commitment to UAlbany Athletics allows for enhanced academic support, new and improved facilities, and the hiring and retention of top coaches. As outlined on page four, the cost of competing at the highest level and providing a quality education for outstanding student athletes is significant. The primary resource for meeting this need is revenue generated by the Great Dane Athletic Club (GDAC). Sustaining our success – athletically and
academically – requires more fans, organizations and businesses become partners in the GDAC mission. Now is the time to get involved and secure the future of UAlbany Athletics. Membership runs on the calendar year and can begin with a gift of as little as $100 annually. This yearly contribution will count towards benefits such as seating, parking, and hospitality for both Men’s Basketball and Football. New members can contribute at any level, but must make a gift to activate their membership and receive certain benefits.

Division I athletic programs rely on private support to compete at the highest level. Unrestricted annual giving through GDAC allows UAlbany Athletics to immediately direct funds where the needs are greatest: recruiting and retaining top athletes and coaches, improving facilities and enhancing the Great Dane student-athlete experience. GDAC support has grown significantly in the past three years – but to continue this momentum and compete with our peer programs, we need your generosity.

Investing In Greatness
College athletics requires serious investment. Each year the University at Albany Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is tasked with the challenge of generating the necessary funds to support more than 450 student-athletes. The support generated through the Great Dane Athletic Club helps defer the costs associated with participating at the highest level of competition.

Six ways to support UAlbany Athletics
1
Be an advocate for UAlbany. As a growing fan base we need to be loud and proud! Wear your Purple and Gold with pride. Acknowledge other Great Danes in the community. Help us engage others to join our cause.
2
Attend more games! By coming to our games, home or away and regardless of sport, you become a leader by example. Great attendance and atmosphere starts with you!
3
Upgrade your giving level to GDAC. Student-athlete support is at the core of our mission. By increasing your support, you are not only changing the lives of our student-athletes at UAlbany, but qualifying yourself for the best seats, parking and hospitality GDAC has to offer!
4
Invest in a capital project. If you have a passion for one of our teams or coaches, you may want to consider getting involved with a capital project. Your support through capital projects provides our student-athletes with some of the best facilities and equipment in the country.
5
Create a scholarship. If you have the ability, establishing a scholarship is a lasting way to support UAlbany for generations. A minimum of $25,000 is required to award a scholarship fund to a deserving student-athlete.
6
Include UAlbany in your estate. An easy and significant way to make a difference is through a provision in one’s estate supporting the Great Danes. A percentage or specific amount can make a huge difference in our athletic programs!

Scholarship Seating Scholarship seating is defined by a gift associated with a specific seat, and the range of gift size varies based on the location. The following pages show the exact breakdown of Scholarship Seating at Casey Stadium and SEFCU Arena. It is important to understand that your annual GDAC gift made towards these seating locations applies for both season tickets. Example: By making a gift to purchase two “Purple Level” football season tickets, the gift associated with those seats would allow you to purchase two “Purple Level” basketball season tickets without making an additional gift.

PARKING PASSES
To show appreciation to GDAC members, all season ticket holders at or above the “Great Dane” level ($100+) will be automatically qualified to receive a complimentary parking pass to the Dutch Lot. If inventory becomes available, Dutch Quad Lot parking may be upgraded to SEFCU Lot parking based on athletic event, availability, annual giving level, and priority points within each level.
This chart explains the number of complimentary parking passes you will receive based on the number of season tickets you purchase. Only one gift is required per year to activate benefits, such as parking, for football and/or basketball.
SEFCU LOT Season ticket holders who contribute at or above the GDAC “Gold Dane” level ($500+) will be automatically eligible to receive complimentary parking pass in the SEFCU Lot. These parking spaces are allocated on a yearly basis, and determined by ones current annual giving level and priority points within each level. As demonstrated in 2016, GDAC members who were allocated Dutch Lot parking may be upgraded to the SEFCU Lot based on the same allocation system.

As we continue to improve the overall game day and donor experience, UAlbany Athletics is proud to continue the “Gold Level” seating initiative. Great Dane Athletic Club members who purchase seating in sections 104, 105, and 106 within Casey Stadium will have a gated club atmosphere complete with private beer garden and food vendors. Those who purchase season tickets within these sections will receive a credentialed pass that allows them access to the Gold Level seating and this exclusive hospitality area.
For the 2017-18 Basketball season the Great Dane Athletic Club will continue to utilize Courtside Corner. Our donor only hospitality area located next to section 300 of SEFCU Arena. This hospitality area offers a lounge atmosphere for members to enjoy complimentary food and beverage, as well as a cash bar. This area is available to donors of the Great Dane Athletic Club at or above the 1844 Champion ($1000+) giving level.
For season ticket holders who are members of the Great Dane Athletic Club, but have not purchased season tickets in the sections mentioned above we are proud to offer the GDAC Berm Hospitality Area. This area located in the north end zone offers a great view of the action, as well the opportunity to purchase food, soft drinks, beer and wine – without the wait of long lines throughout the stadium. All members will receive wrist bands commensurate with the number of season tickets purchased that will grant them access to this hospitality area. 11
The Gold Level initiative will continue for the 2017-18 Basketball season. For those who have purchased season tickets on the floor of SEFCU Arena, we offer access to not only Courtside Corner, but access to a private food vendor for the purchase of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, water and traditional game day fair. Much like our Gold Level seating at Casey Stadium, season ticket holders of this area will receive credentialed tickets that allow them into both of these hospitality areas.
