Upper Arlington Lutheran Church
SEPTEMBER-NOVEMBER, 2017
Connect | Grow | Serve Adult Enrichment – Families, Youth & Children – Care, Prayer & Support – Service & Outreach Fall is here and that means the beginning of our ministry year! Our Fall Ministry Guide is a listing of many of the various studies, ministries, service, and mission
events in place for us this fall as we learn to follow our mission “to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.” Whether you have been a disciple of Jesus for some time or are just getting started, this guide will provide many opportunities and resources
to take a another step in obedience by plugging into a ministry, investigating a Bible study, or serving in Jesus’ name.
Thank you for taking time to check out our fall guide to ministry! This year our over-arching focus is on the “Kingdom of God.” This Kingdom is something Jesus teaches us about in the Gospels. Basically, it means that Jesus came so that people could experience the rule and reign of God, and every good thing that comes with it. We believe that when God reigns, so many amazing things take place: sin is forgiven, broken relationships are made whole, hurting people are comforted, the poor and sick are cared for, outsiders become insiders, people learn to live as they were always meant to, and God gets all the glory. We want to experience all of that - we want the rule and reign of God in our hearts, in the life of our church and in our community- in our homes, our workplaces and our neighborhood. We want to see more and more people coming to know this good King, Jesus. We want to see lives transformed. We want to see the church engaged in meeting the real needs of our community and world. And we do it all because we are learning to join God in bringing the Kingdom. So this fall guide is more than just a menu of church-program options. It’s more than an advertisement for where we hope you’ll volunteer this year. This guide is a glimpse into what we see God calling us to do in the Kingdom this fall. It’s an invitation to join in the work, and the joy of experiencing and sharing the Good News of the Kingdom of God!
