Annual production: 50 000 bottles Imported and distributed in: Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Gabon, Switzerland Export turnover: 35% To understand the Champagne Benoît Cocteaux's philosophy, it is important to consider their long history, dating back several generations to 1670. These successive winegrowers were all motivated by a desire to reveal terroirs, grape varieties and extraordinary wines. To accomplish this, winegrowers need to be in love with their soil- working the fields daily and facing the hazards of Mother Nature. Ultimately, wine is a natural and living product, and Champagne Benoît Cocteaux works to channel that into their powerful, pure, and genuine cuvees. Certified HVE since 2016, they are currently working towards organic conversion to better preserve nature, the soils and their heritage. Maison Wessman is committed to crafting fine wines from selected terroirs. The red wines are made with grapes from the Issigeac terroir, identical to those found in their Saint-Emilion neighbors Château Figeac or Cheval Blanc. The white wines are made from grape blends from the Serpent terroir, internationally renowned for its Chardonnays. Driven by a love of the region, Robert Wessman acquired the iconic 45ha Vignoble des Verdots in 2021. This vineyard is fully committed to an innovative approach, in favor of an eco friendly viticulture: they are HEV3 certified, have launched large vitiforestry plan, participate in soil regeneration and carbon sequestration programs, and use new eco-designed bottles made of linen. Les Verdots aims to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Over 15 years ago, Robert Wessman, a wine connoisseur, acquired the 12th century Château de Saint Cernin in the Périgord region.
