The project proposal would be located at the corner of Stephen Avenue and 11th Street. It is a building with a combined program of performance theatre, restaurant, bar, and hotel, all of which are interconnected. According to its function, it is a building of evasion and experience, where we escape our daily life to live an immersive experience. We are in a place of inner contemplation and discovery, stepping away from the day to day life to a leisure place. It is by this concept of experience that the form is created, developping unusual, imposing, organic and evasive forms, as well as bridges and platforms to entwine the fonctions, forms and circulations.

Downtown west end lacks spaces that drive Calgarians to visit the area. This program aims to address this with creating a space for working, learning and playing. Brewmasters, pipefitters, chemists and more would be trained at this college and subsequently employed by the brewery, serving the greater public through the three vertically-arranged taprooms. 1:500 NW AXO CORNER SECTION

The COVID-19 pandemic has drawn newfound awareness to the need for comprehensive healthcare. Smaller healthcare facilities in Calgary lack the resources to provide specialized care, specifically in the areas regarding end-of-life, mental health, and physical therapy. The West End Recovery & Care Centre offers such in-house supportive services at a critical time, making a facility dedicated to serving the needs of patients a necessity. AY
