Or type onestop.uc.edu into your search bar. 2. On the left hand side of the screen, click on Registration Information. 3. From the pull down menu, click on register/add/drop classes. 4. Log into Onestop using your central user ID and password. If you have not yet set up your username and password, follow the link on the right hand side (Get My Username) to obtain your username. For your password, use the generic Uc!mmddyyyy using your date of birth. Once on the second screen retype the generic password and then choose your own strong password. It must be at least 8 characters long, contain one uppercase letter and at least one number. If you have trouble during this step, please call the UC Help Desk at 513556-4357 for assistance.
5. Select the term for which you are registering. 6. You will see a Registration Grid. Find the button that says Schedule of Classes and click on it. This should open a separate window that will allow you to search for classes. Select the term for which you are registering under TERM. Then, under SESSION choose the one that says All Sessions. Under the OFFERING COLLEGE tab, you should, for the most part, select Blue Ash College. Now, under the DISCIPLINE tab select a discipline. If you are looking for an ENGL 1001 course, you would select “English” from the drop down menu. A separate win-
dow will open which shows which sections are open. Select an open section which fits into your schedule. Record the section Call Number (the 6 digit number) or copy it for pasting into the Registration Grid. 8. Go back to the Registration Grid and enter the Call Number in the appropriate field. You do not need to enter additional information. Click on the Submit button. If all is well, you will see the course move to the top of the page with a green message that says Added or Normal. If there is a problem, the course will not be added and you will receive a red error message. The error could be simply an incorrect call number was entered, or could be a problem for which you may need to contact Enrollment Services (513-745-5700) such as in the case of a Service Block. You should submit after each call number entry. 9. Once you have finished adding classes, you can see your schedule by clicking on the View Schedule tab. STUDY ABROAD Study Abroad 2015 Programs Study Abroad programs at UC Blue Ash College give you the chance to experience world culture on a personal level. In 2015, there are two programs from which you can choose: British Study Abroad and Perú Study Abroad. If you travel with us to Great Britain, you will examine the cultural evolution of the 1960s through the music of the Beatles and experience first-hand the discoveries, events, and settings associated with the historical and scientific development of evolutionary thought. If you travel with us to Perú, you will learn Spanish by immersing yourself in the confluence of three distinct cultures: Inca, Quechua, and Spanish. Let the world be your classroom; study abroad!
British Study Abroad
English Study Abroad (ENGL 2095) Evolution and Revolution: The Impact of the Beatles on Cultural Evolution the Sixties (3 credits) (no pre-requisite)
Study Abroad in Biology (BIOL 1027) Evolution: History and Processes
QUESTIONS Study Abroad Mike Roos (513) 745-5764 www.ucblueash.edu/saec
Perú Study Abroad
Latin American Culture and Civilization (SPAN 2065)(3 credits)
(3 credits) (no pre-requisite)
The 1960s were a time of dynamic cultural change and can serve as a dramatic case study to illustrate the ways that culture evolves similarly to the ways that organisms evolve. In this writing course, the study of the Beatles’ music in the context of the 1960s as well as the study abroad experience itself will serve as means to explore and write about the process of cultural and personal evolution.
This British Study Abroad course explores the historical development of evolutionary thought from classical times to the present. The course emphasizes changing hypotheses of species and speciation through time, the lives of Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, the Darwin-Wallace concept of natural selection, development of the modern synthesis, and human evolution. The contributions of British scientists to the scientific understanding of evolution are highlighted throughout the course.
Prior to departure, everyone will read Jonathan Gould’s excellent group biography Can’t Buy Me Love: The Beatles, Britain and America and watch the full six-hour video The Beatles Anthology. Then, through various writing assignments, students will develop an increased appreciation for where we have come from culturally and how cultural change is an ongoing, never-ending process. They will document their experiences in four online blog postings that will document the evolution of their understanding of the Beatles and the ‘60s. I
A combination of class discussions, field trips, creative projects/presentations, individual research/readings, and journal entries provides opportunity for students learning through a variety of modes and in a variety of settings. The course is designed to have broad applicability to a large number of majors and programs offered at the University of Cincinnati. Non-science majors can apply the course as a natural science elective, while science majors may be able to apply the course as a general or free elective.
In this course, students will learn language by immersing themselves in the confluence of three distinct cultures: Inca, Quechua, and Spanish. Through daily interactions with Peruvians, language classes, literature readings, cultural excursions and archaeological site visits, students will experience how Inca and Quechua cultures have survived in the midst of a Spanish-speaking society.
n Britain, fieldtrips to major sites in Liverpool and London will augment class discussions of the Beatles’ music and the times in which they lived. For the major creative writing project of the course, each student will have three options: present a 5-7 page sample of original writing in whatever genre preferred on the topic of cultural or personal evolution; do a 10-minute Powerpoint presentation demonstrating some aspect of cultural evolution in the 60s or ways that our culture has been impacted and changed by what happened in the 60s; or create a scripted 10-minute film/video on the subject of cultural or personal evolution.

Have Student Health Insurance?
Students enrolled in the UC Student Health Insurance (SHI) Plan enjoy the convenience of primary medical care at no charge when they visit either of our two University Health Services (UHS) campus locations. If students are ill, they are seen by a UHS physician that same day. Students do not pay for primary care, including lab tests and X-rays ordered and rendered by physicians and technicians at the two UHS facilities. With UC Student Health Insurance, students have the benefit of access to UHS mental health services. A nominal co-pay is another plus for students utilizing the UHS Pharmacy. The Plan also provides health insurance coverage for specialty care and hospitalization. It is a comprehensive, major medical policy with benefits customized specifically for UC students and thus is considered comparable to, and in many cases, better than group and individual policies.
No Student Health Insurance?
For a set fee,* you can be seen at University Health Services for minor illness/ injury, office visit, X-rays and in-house labs such as CBC, rapid strep and rapid flu tests, mono, U/A, urine pregnancy test, and serum pregnancy test. Any labs that need to be sent out will be billed to the patient’s insurance. This will include labs such as chem profile, cultures, thyroid, STD testing and pap smears. Payment for services has never been easier. We will accept cash, check, credit cards**, debit cards, Bearcat Card, or services can be billed to your student account. Administered statements can be provided for possible reimbursement through your private health insurance. * Visit uc.edu/uhs for fee information ** We do not accept American Express
