Letter From the Editor Grace and peace be unto you UNITED, Our 3rd Anniversary celebration continues at the United Times! We are so thankful for all that God has done, and excited for what is to come. It’s our time UNITED, it’s our season, and as the psalmist says, GREATER is coming! Testimonies of GREATER can already be felt throughout the body of UNITED as we share with you in this mid-month issue highlights of events taking place around the world. God is moving and we give Him praise for the freedom, deliverance and blessing manifesting throughout the Body of Christ. The Lord is building up our inner man as He allows Pastor Howard Hamilton to take us deeper this month into that place of stillness and peace in Christ, because we are Left Behind to Have a Peace of Mind. Be encouraged UNITED, and above all, continue to stand. In His Service, Annette Parkins Editor www.unitedcovenantchurches.org

Left Behind To Have A PEACE of Mind Part II

By Pastor Howard R. Hamilton Parousia Temple of Praise & Deliverance Wilmington, DE

Peace of mind is something that we all desire to have. We all want to be able to rest, to not have to worry, and to feel free to enjoy life, family, friends, work, church, hobbies, entertainment, etc. We want to be able to enjoy ourselves and not be burdened down with worries that rob us of vigor, life, and purpose. Sometimes, experiences cause frustration to the point of giving someone a PIECE of your MIND rather than having a PEACE of MIND. Beloved, there has to be a spiritual resistance built for possessing your true purpose and obtaining true peace. There are countless examples in the Bible that express having a peace of mind in not looking back and moving forward to rediscover your worth and your wealth in PEACE. The Bible declares in Luke 9:62 (NLT), But Jesus said unto him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then LOOKS BACK is NOT FIT for the Kingdom of God.” This passage implies that anyone who remains focused on past events, former connections and circumstances that have no bearing on your futuristic purpose in Christ is NOT FIT for the Kingdom. Let us take note of Genesis 19 where it deals with Lot’s wife turning to a pillar of SALT. Jesus also refers to this same episode in Luke 17. She is used here as an example of people who are too attached to their old life, indicating that she looked back in regret for what she was losing. There is a double meaning: attachment to physical goods, and to the unregenerate life. Beloved, if God releases you OUT of certain situations to KEEP you OUT! Having a mind of curiosity and desire to go back can to lead to death both naturally and spiritually. Remember, you are WORTH a lot To God even though you have lost A LOT.

God wants His believers to obtain and maintain PEACE that surpasses ALL understanding (Philippians 4:7). As you read Philippians 4, you will notice the Apostle Paul took the opportunity to encourage the church concerning practical matters such as humility and unity. He conveys the necessary steps in obtaining and maintaining PEACE. Obtaining PEACE… 1) Stand Fast in The Lord – vs.1 2) Rejoice In The Lord – vs.4 3) Let your moderation (considerate spirit) be known to men – vs.5 4) Be careful for nothing – vs.6 5) Let your requests be made known unto God – vs.6 Maintaining PEACE… 1) Keeping your minds set on God - Isaiah 26:3 2) Loving God's word, and heeding His commandments - Psalm 119:165 3) Being diligent in prayer - Philippians 4:6-7 4) Filling our mind with spiritual thoughts - Romans 8:5-8 DIVINE HEALING FORMULA: 1) Humble yourselves – kill pride, haughtiness, etc. 2) Pray – doing this will detox you to leave you open to do the next step. 3) Seek God’s face – direct your attention on things above. 4) Turn from your ways – don’t turn back or even look back. 5) God will hear. 6) God will forgive your sins. 7) God will heal your land. (divine completion)

Revival In India Bishop Kevin Permal, the Diocesan of the Republic of Mauritius, held a revival in Kadappa, India and we give God all the glory for this great mission. Bishop Kevin and a team went for a week mission from an invitation of Dr. Prasanna Kumar. They were joined there by Pastor Trevor from S.A. Dr. Prasanna Kumar said that this was the first time the church experienced such a powerful manifestation of God. Hundreds of people got saved and delivered from strongholds. Many, many sick and demon possessed people came from a place called Al Colony and got totally delivered. They even attended the following church service! The most thrilling news is that Dr. Prasanna Kumar is now opening a church in this place. Though Bishop Kevin and the team had to take 3 planes to reach Kadappa, they were overwhelmed with joy at seeing so many people thirsty for the presence and anointing of God.

3rd Annual Hip Hop Back to School Jam & 2014 Vacation Bible School The Love Nation TURNED IT UP last month as we reached out into the Delaware community and hosted a full week of VBS activities where collectively over 100 children and families joined into this year’s theme, “It’s Time for a Praise Break!” (Psalm 107:2). On Saturday, August 9th, we continued to bombard the community with LOVE as expressed by giving away 200 book bags filled with school supplies. Participants enjoyed water ice, hotdogs, children’s activities, vendors and more! We ended the weekend on Sunday, August 10th with Family & Friends day as a part of our morning worship. Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s outreach event and helped to make it such a HUGE success!

***2015 SAVE THE DATES*** • Vacation Bible School (August 5th – 7th, 6-8:30 Nightly) • Back to School Jam (August 8th, 11 am – 3 pm)

The Shepherd’s Corner Elder Daphne M. McRae shares with us a key teaching called “Effective Follower-Leadership” (John 10:17-18), which is centered honoring spiritual leadership in celebration of Christian Love’s 32nd Shepherd’s anniversary this month honoring Bishop George E. Gibson II. There is a new breed of leader called Follower-leaders emerging from the ranks who are Lieutenants and Commanders and have mastered not only how to be effective leaders, but also how to be exemplary followers. Leaders can only lead to the magnitude in which they have learned to follow. Many of us have not been released to lead because we have not mastered the art of followership. Followership is a universal principle that can applied not just in the church, but also in the marketplace. There are two pre-qualifiers that we must meet in order to walk effectively in followership: 1) A capacity to follow. We all have the capacity to follow because it is an innate ability within us. It is only through our followership that we learn to become great leaders. 2.) A willingness to follow. This second qualifier eliminates many of us because the difference between the ability to follow and the willingness to follow is obedience. This is weight bearing season and your release is in your obedience! You can trust God’s word with your weight; His Word is weight bearing. You can put your weight on Him and he’ll keep you balanced. When you willingly obey the voice of the Lord, he will accelerate the release over your life. Followership is not for the weak-minded or spineless, but for those men and women of God who can fearlessly find where they fit into the vision of the house and own it through their Commitment, Consistency and Collaboration.
