“I chose UCI because it is integrated with the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southern California. I was excited about the student competitions, mentorship program and the caliber of the other students in my program!”

“The program felt as if it was tailor-made for my need to foster and nurture my skills and experiences into a viable product with a reasonable amount of time for us to commit. The location of the school, Orange County, was as equally attractive as the academic excellence of the school because of the county's diverse cultural background, openness to experience, and accessibility to entrepreneurial resources.”
Nick Lee, MIE ’22
MIE Pre-Accelerator Program (MAP)
The MAP journey will take students from an idea to an investor quality presentation. Four key milestones include their Idea/Elevator Pitch, Business Model Presentation, MIE Pitch Competition, and Investor/Incubator Presentations. Both start-up and corporate ideas will be supported. The program will include dedicated workshops, practice / live presentations and extensive feedback from mentors and experts. MAP will integrate with and reinforce course concepts with real-world application to their project. The program will culminate in June with presentations. Students also are encouraged to participate in the New Venture Competition.
