HEAD COACH JIM L. MORA - In his first year as head coach, Mora guided the Bruins to the 2012 South Division Champi-

onship of the Pac-12 conference and matched the school-record for wins by a first-year coach with nine. The Bruins, who played in the Holiday Bowl, set numerous offensive records during the course of the season, including establishing a new school rushing leader, in Johnathan Franklin, and several passing marks. The defensive unit emerged as one of the most dynamic in the country, leading the nation in sacks for a good portion of the season. Mora, a former NFC Coach of the Year, came to UCLA after spending part of 2010 and most of 2011 as an analyst and contributor for the NFL Network and the NFL on FOX. He brought 25 years of NFL coaching acumen with him to UCLA, including four years of NFL head coaching experience while at the helm of the Falcons (2004-06) and the Seahawks (2009).

Each camp’s strength lies in the quality of the coaching staff assembled and led by UCLA Head Coach Jim Mora. The emphasis is on teaching, and the majority of each camp is spent learning the same drills and techniques taught to the UCLA Bruins football team. Campers will also learn about the importance of attitude, discipline, hard work, pride and teamwork - all qualities that are part of the Bruin Football tradition!

Cori Close has guided the Bruins to a national top-25 ranking for almost the entire 2012-13 season. She is in her second season after guiding the Bruins to a 14-16 overall record in 2011-12 and a 9-9 mark (tied for fifth) in the Pac-12. The Bruins’ roster was decimated with injuries last year as UCLA finished the season with just seven healthy players. This is the first head coaching assignment for Close, who has worked as associate head coach or assistant on teams that have advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last 15 seasons, won at least 20 games in 15 of the previous 16 seasons and won or shared a total of 11 conference championships. “Cori has established herself as one of the top women’s basketball associate coaches in the nation and is certainly ready to take the next step,” said UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero. “Cori has enjoyed great success at Florida State and UC Santa Barbara, on the court, off the court and on the recruiting trail, and has a great vision for the future of our program. She will continue to build upon the foundation that has been established over the last few years.” Close, who served on the Bruin coaching staff in 1994 and 1995, returns to Westwood after spending the last seven seasons as associate head coach at Florida State University. Considered one of the top offensive minds in the game, Close helped guide the Seminoles into a nationally-recognized program in her time. FSU ranked among the nation’s top 30 teams in scoring, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage the last two seasons.

HEAD COACH BILLY MARTIN

Head coach Billy Martin, who is in his 20th year as head coach of the UCLA Bruins, takes an overall record of 427-90 (.826) into the 2013 season. This year marks Martin’s 30th year on staff, as he served as an assistant coach for 10 years prior to taking over for Glenn Bassett in 1994. He is only the fourth head coach in UCLA tennis history, following legends Bill Ackerman (1921-50), J.D. Morgan (1951-66) and Bassett (1967-93). Perhaps the most amazing accomplishment in Martin’s career is his ability to get the best out of his players each and every year, as in 18 seasons as head coach, only once has he had a team finish out of the top 5 at the seasonending NCAA Championships. Inducted into the ITA Tennis Hall of Fame in 1996, Martin’s playing career is full of highlights. To this very day he is still regarded as one of the best junior players in the history of the sport. He captured the 1973 and ‘74 singles titles at Junior Wimbledon, the Junior U.S. Open and Junior Orange Bowl tournaments. Inside Tennis Magazine recently ran an article that named him “Junior Player of the Century.” Due to his tremendous success as a junior player while growing up in Illinois, Martin was inducted into the USTA Midwest Section Hall of Fame in December of 2010. He was also inducted into the Southern California Tennis Association Hall of Fame in August of 2011. CAMP PROGRAM The UCLA Tennis Camp is open to boys and girls, ages 7-18. (Children must be at least 9 years old to be resident campers.) Men’s Tennis Head Coach Billy Martin directs all sessions, and the camp staff includes UCLA Men’s Tennis Assistant Coach Grant Chen , as well as experienced collegiate players and coaches. All ability levels are welcome! Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt, and a certificate of completion. Join Coach Martin this summer and experience the “commitment to excellence” which symbolizes the Bruin tradition both on and off the court.

Former UCLA pole vault standout Anthony Curran enters his 29th year at his alma mater, returning this season as the men’s and women’s volunteer jumps coach. Curran has become one of the premier vault coaches in the nation as he continues to produce All-American after All-American at UCLA. He has coached multiple Olympians, National Record Holders, and NCAA and Pac-10 Champions during his tenure at UCLA, a feat that has made UCLA a pole vaulting powerhouse. Curran also earned top honors in 2006 after being named the NCAA West Region Women’s Jumps Coach of the Year. In the last 15 years, UCLA pole vaulters have scored more than “double” the points at NCAAs than any other program in the country including seven NCAA Champions and six Runner-up’s. UCLA had two Bruins represented at the 2012 Olympics with vaulters Tori Pena and Yoo Kim. The Bruins also had four vaulters compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Megan Jamerson, Katy Viuf, Dustin Deleo and Mike Woepse
