Remember Memphis furniture? Many of us in the Mid-South were mystified, but it was a big thing 30 or so years ago. Well, here it is again. Organized by and presented at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens, 4339 Park, and on exhibit through July 13 – a retrospective look at the flamboyant and colorful furniture and household objects produced by the Memphis collective between 1981 and 1988.

Based in Milan, these iconoclastic architects and designers helped define the look of a generation.

Memphis-Milano includes over 150 iconic works that date from its founding in 1981 through 1988, when the group disbanded. By then, Memphis was

Other exhibits to enjoy: Elvis' Tupelo allows fans to explore the city that Elvis first called home with photos, video, and memorabilia. An Interactive Timeline celebrating 1956, the year Elvis and rock & roll riveted the world.

If you choose to tour Graceland as a VIP, check out “60 Years of Elvis” which commemorates the first Elvis recording to be played on the radio on July 8, 1954.

MATA Trolleys Return To The Garage For Safety Updates! Lime-green Hybrid Buses Roll On In To Keep The Routes Running!

Service on all trolley rail lines has been temporarily suspended for renovations. But don't worry. Alternate service for the trolley lines is being provided through shuttles on MATA's new green hybrid electric buses. Trolley fares and hours of service remain the same - trolley passes will be accepted on bus shuttles.

So you'll still be able to get from the Pinch District and the Memphis Cook Convention Center, run past Civic Center Plaza and Court Square, and go all the way to Peabody Place and Beale Street, the FedEx Forum, Nationals Civil Rights Museum and the South Main Historic Arts District.

And you'll still be able to travel the Riverfront Loop, and take in the Tennessee Welcome Center, Mud Island and the Mississippi River Museum and the panoramic beauty of the 5-block long River Walk.

As with the trolleys, the lime-green buses will be pulling into the station about every 10 to 15 minutes. On the Madison Avenue Line, frequency slows to about every 25 minutes after 6 p.m. and on Sundays.
