See Key On U-Tube! That's right. Key Magazine of Memphis is now on U-Tube. So have a look! The link is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z9E2jrEuVY “The subject matter of my art varies, but my first love has always been faces.” And Elvis possessed one of the most sensual, expressive faces of all time. According to Betty, “There was something incredibly inspiring about him. He pushed right to the limit of his potential, always himself, always trying to be the best he could be.”

Don't 2, a sensitive portrait of a sensitive artist – the young Elvis Presley. Meet & Greet artist Betty Harper at Heartbreak Hotel Aug. 12-15. See more of her work at Thomas Kinkade Inspiration Gallery, in the Wolfchase Mall, Germantown Pkwy & I-40.

The same might be said about her. A versatile artist, skilled in many mediums, and the daughter of a career military man, who spent her childhood forever on the move, Betty had already won countless awards and ribbons by the time she graduated from the Dreux American High School in France, after which she studied at the American Academy in Paris. As she grew older, her interest in Elvis intensified. You can also see Betty's art at Inspiration Arty Gallery, in Wolfchase Galleria, 2760 N. Germantown Pkwy., Memphis, TN 38133. For a more extensive view of Betty and her work (as you might expect, she's much more than just an Elvis artist), visit her website, www.bettyharper.com. www.keymemphis.com

They're Rockin Tonight Over at The Killer's – Jerry Lee Lewis' Cafe & Honky Tonk The song's right: there's always a whole lotta shakin goin on at Jerry Lee Lewis' Cafe & Honky Tonk on Beale. True to the traditions of The Killer, there's someone singing & playing on stage every night, belting out the sort of music Memphis is famous for. From the Jason James Trio to Rockin Joey Trites & the Memphis Flash, the music is sweet & hot & Southern fried all the time. And the food's Killer Diller too! Just as you'd expect from the man who has "somethin in the oven." Starters are sizzling & include such selections as Rockin' Red Beans & Rice & Jerry Lee's Sausage & Chicken Gumbo, followed by marvelous salads – like the Beale St. BBQ Salad – & soul-satisfying entrees: Pulled Pork Shoulder, Gulf Coast Shrimp, Louisiana Seafood, Memphis BBQ Ribs

Jason James burns up the ivories Fri. & Sat. at Jerry Lee Lewis' Cafe & Honky Tonk on Beale. And sandwiches, from burgers to po-boys, great sides & Triple Chocolate Cake to finish. Atmosphere? Dine in the Honky Tonk Cafe, hand out in the Backstage Bar, or kick back & settle in for great music & terrific food on the Flaming Fountain Courtyard. Jerry Lee Lewis' Cafe & Honky Tonk is at 310 Beale St., open daily for lunch & dinner, with live entertainment & dancing nightly. MATA Trolleys Return To

The Garage For Safety Updates! Lime-Green Hybrid Buses Roll In To Keep The Routes Running!

Service on all trolley rail lines has been temporarily suspended for renovations. But don't worry. Alternate service for the trolley lines is being provided through shuttles on MATA's new green hybrid electric buses. Trolley fares and hours of service remain the same - trolley passes will be accepted on bus shuttles. So you'll still be able to get from the Pinch District and the Memphis Cook Convention Center, run past Civic Center Plaza and Court Square, and go all the way to Peabody Place and Beale Street, the FedEx Forum, Nationals Civil Rights Museum and the South Main Historic Arts District. And you'll still be able to travel the Riverfront Loop, and take in the Tennessee Welcome Center, Mud Island and the Mississippi River Museum and the panoramic beauty of the 5-block long River Walk. As with the trolleys, the lime-green buses will be pulling into the station about every 10 to 15 minutes. On the Madison Avenue Line, frequency slows to about every 25 minutes after 6 p.m. and on Sundays. Check the map on the back of the magazine for station locations, schedules and fares. Or call 901-274-MATA (6282) or visit matatransit.com. August 1-15, 2014 • KEY 11
