If you have the need for speed, Exotics Racing is the place for you. Exotics Racing is located only 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, and a stone’s throw away from the asphalt of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In fact, it sits on the same property and counts itself as one of nine tracks on the grounds. It features more than 30 different cars to choose from, and while you’re taking a break from the excitement of Blackjack and Roulette get your fix of thrills from these guys starting at just $199 for

five laps around the track. With all the different choices, I know what you might be thinking; “Which one of these dream machines will quench my thirst for my Vegas pedal-to-the-metal thrill ride?” Well, let me tell you, every single one of them. There isn’t a bad apple in the fleet and Exotics Racing knows that. They pick the cars that people lust over. Circus Circus has what's touted as the "world's largest permanent circus," and the variety acts that perform at the hotel's midway are often named among the best free attractions on The Strip. But at the heart of the six-minute shows, every half hour, is a man whose drums set the tone for the performers. The man's name is Joey Vespe, and he’s been drumming up excitement at Circus Circus since 1974. Vespe says, "I was with Louis Prima, traveling with him for about seven years, and he decided to get off the road for a while. A friend got me this job, and I've been here ever since." Louis Prima, the famous songwriter and trumpeter, was a Vegas mainstay in the 1950s, credited by many as the one who "invented" Vegas-style lounge entertainment known around the world. Day in and day out, it's Joey's job to build anticipation and suspense around the acts on the Circus Circus stage. Those acts may come and go, but Joe Vespe’s talents have stood the test of time.

"I've seen every type of act. Jugglers. High wire acts. Every kind. We even had an elephant, Tonya. They had a guy who would jump from way up high into a bag. Also, if you look at the ceiling, you can still see a rail. A woman used to ride on a horse up there. Then there was the giant wheel with motorcycles inside. Everything." Joey Vespe has seen it all during his decades-long gig. He was around before there was even seating for the circus acts. Back in the day, customers would watch performances from the casino floor. Despite the thousands of shows he's done at Circus Circus, Joey still strives to keep things fresh. "You try to make it new," he says. "You do it like it's the first time every time. If we were just going through the motions, the performers would notice the difference. It's as much for them as the audience." During his very extended engagement at Circus Circus, Joey has still pursued his outside musical interests. He says, "I play with other bands when I get a chance. I have my own big band. I plan on doing an album." Still, Joey loves his day job, insisting, "I meet people from around the world. They come up and tell me how much they like the way I play. It's been an exciting job." What's the most fulfilling part of his gig? Joey says, "It's all about the kids. It's so the kids can come and have some enjoyment, we cater to the children. They'll always love the circus." “To say that you’ve driven a Ferrari, on a real race track, in Las Vegas, is pretty cool,” said Josh Martin, director of marketing at Exotics Racing. The track is 1.2 miles long, and includes seven turns, an 11% bank on turn number two, and a 1,800 foot straight that allows for maximum speed. It’s a heck of a ride and getting through some of the turns is a thrill in itself. Before getting behind the wheel, a short introduction class is taught to all

the soon-to-be drivers. This class is important because it shows the way that the track is designed and the proper ways to maneuver through the turns with maximum efficiency.
