Q&A with:
Hannah Gingrich CAPS Wellness peer Educator
Why did you want to become A CAPS Wellness Peer Educator? I became a Wellness Peer Educator because I wanted to take an active role in reducing the stigma associated with mental health. Wellness Peer Educators promote both mental and physical wellness, and host workshops of all kinds to help students achieve optimal health. I am so glad that I joined the Wellness Peer Educators. It has been the highlight of my college experience.
Why is PSYCHOLOGICAL health important?
It is important because we are at a time in our lives where we are going through significant changes and brand new experiences. It’s important to remember to take care of yourself. Read a good book, run on the beach, take a yoga class, whatever brings you relaxation. Take a good deep breath...
Why did you want to become A Student Health advocate?
I attended a “Tasty Tuesday” hosted by the SHAs at The Zone and it was an amazing experience. I was really intrigued by the nutritional facts that were presented and admired the passion that the presenters possessed. I decided to apply and be part of the team that aims to enhance student well-being!
Q&A with:
SHAWN CHIANG STUDENT HEALTH ADVOCATE
What is the importance of Being healthy?
College is a time when students explore and engage in different activities. People get involved in student orgs, learn more about themselves, and perhaps get into a relationship. With all these different things college students have to worry about on top of their academics, health and wellness become critical factors in keeping themselves going and accomplishing all the things they set their mind to.
