body composition The Body Composition Analysis is conducted by a trained Student Health Advocate (SHA) to provide students a full body analysis. The analysis includes body weight, body fat percentage, total body water, and blood pressure.

10

How does it work? Participants will be using the Tanita Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis scale. The scale will send a very low, safe, electric signal through the body to measure the resistance of the signal as it travels through the water that is found in muscle and fat. The electrical signal passes easily through water in hydrated muscle tissue but meets resistance with fat tissue. This resistance, also known as impedance, is measured and analysed by scientifically validated Tanita equations to calculate the participant’s body composition measurements.
