UDBODHAN 118
An Appeal Swami Vivekananda wanted spread of education which is not merely confined in bookish memorization or obtaining knowledge, but education which makes man honest and brave, inspires to be self-reliant and helps build an ideal human character. He said that for the progress of the nation, total development of poor and womenfolk is needed. And for this reason he collected from the west and brought for us a gift—greatest and for all time—Margaret Elizabeth Noble. Swamiji dedicated her for the service of India especially for the important accompalishment of education for women. As per Swamiji’s wish Sister Nivedita engaged herself for this task completely in Indian manner and system. Such example in India was never to be found before or afterwards. On her 150th birth anniversary, to pay homage to this truly India-centric soul, UDBODHAN magazine has undertaken a scheme. We contemplate to make UDBODHAN available in 1000 Bengali medium schools, colleges and universities every month to acquaint the young Bengali minds with the inspiring thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. For this a permanent fund of Rs 30 lacs is required, the interest accrued thereof would help running the scheme throughout the year. Name of this fund is—‘Sister Nevedita Memorial Permanent Fund for free distribution of UDBODHAN in Educational Institutions’. We seek therefore, kind patronage from devotees and admirers of the ideology of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Donations for this purpose should be marked as ‘Sister Nivedita Memorial Permanent Fund’. CTS Cheques or Bank Drafts should be drawn in the name of ‘Ramakrishna Math, Baghbazar’, accompanied by a letter mentioning the name of the fund and donor’s PAN No. For sending the donation online, please log on to : www.udbodhan.org/ustore. Needless to say, these donations are exempt from IT under section 80G. Yours sincerely, Swami Nityamuktananda Adhyaksha Ramakrishna Math, Baghbazar Kolkata-3
