Archiviata l’edizione 2017, è la volta della XX edizione del Concorso Bandistico Internazionale Flicorno d’oro, che vedrà rinnovarsi l’ormai tradizionale appuntamento musicale primaverile, tanto atteso dal movimento bandistico nazionale ed internazionale. Dopo la scorsa edizione che ha visto la presenza di tante bande e l’assegnazione dell’ambito trofeo Flicorno d’Oro alla Civica Filarmonica di Lugano diretta dal M° Franco Cesarini, si ripropone un rinnovato concorso ricco di stimoli per altri corpi musicali, provenienti come sempre da numerosi paesi europei. Sono trentotto le formazioni che distribuite nelle sei categorie cercheranno di conquistare i vertici del concorso, scrivendo pagine memorabili della propria storia. Troveranno ad attenderle a Riva del Garda una collaudata organizzazione, che stabilmente mette a punto il concorso fin dal lontano 1991 ed una giuria composta dai più importanti musicisti e compositori del panorama internazionale. Venti edizioni di questo concorso che hanno visto avvicendarsi c.a. 900 corpi musicali, contribuendo al rinnovamento del movimento bandistico nazionale e internazionale che a Riva del Garda ha scritto una delle migliori pagine della sua storia in tutti i sensi: musica di qualità, crescita artistica, recupero della tradizione bandistica italiana, senza considerare la ribalta data a tanti giovani nuovi compositori ed esecutori emergenti, che negli ultimi anni si sono affacciati sempre più numerosi a Riva del Garda. L’impegno organizzativo espresso in questi mesi dall’Associazione Flicorno d’Oro, è stato identico al passato, sicura garanzia per una buona riuscita anche di questa ennesima edizione. Novità assoluta della manifestazione è la presenza di un nuovo Direttore Artistico, il M° Marco Somadossi. E’ stato Allievo del M° Daniele Carnevali ed è attualmente docente di Composizione e Strumentazione per Orchestra di Fiati presso il Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini di Udine. Assieme avranno modo di tracciare i percorsi futuri del concorso. La giuria, potrà contare su musicisti di fama e carisma internazionale: alla presidenza Norbert Nozy (B), coadiuvato poi dai Maestri Fernando Bonete Piqueras (E), Alex Schillings (NL), Vincent Kennedy (IRL), Janis Purins (LV), Marco Pütz (LUX), Fulvio Creux (I). Colgo qui l’occasione per formulare a tutti loro un sentito grazie per aver accettato di essere presenti a Riva del Garda. L’indiscutibile levatura musicale della giuria da significato a valutazioni precise, riconosciute tra gli elementi più validi ed indiscutibili del concorso. Anche in questa edizione, a margine del concorso, la presenza di espositori di strumenti musicali, di partiture, di incontri e dibattiti che potranno arricchire tutti coloro che desidereranno trascorrere a Riva del Garda un fine settimana all’insegna della musica e della cultura. Si ripropone quindi l’incontro e il con-

fronto tra culture musicali diverse, che danno al concorso quella peculiarità e distinzione che lo rendono unico in Italia e che fanno della città di Riva del Garda una delle capitali europee della musica bandistica. Fogge e divise multicolori animeranno la città dal 22 al 25 marzo prossimi, simboli di appartenenza a culture e tradizioni musicali diverse, dietro le quali migliaia di musicisti esprimono il desiderio di conoscersi, di ascoltarsi. Entusiasmante la crescente presenza di tantissimi giovani musicisti che nelle ultime edizioni hanno avuto l’opportunità di farsi apprezzare per le loro doti artistiche, dando all’evento un volto nuovo e dinamico. Ritorna il concerto di apertura, quest’anno affidato alla Brescia Wind Orchestra diretta dal M° Davide Pozzali. Tra le migliori a livello internazionale, si era aggiudicata il trofeo Flicorno d’Oro nell’ed. 2016. La presenza sul palcoscenico nel 2018 da significato all’altissimo livello qualitativo raggiunto da questa compagine. Immancabile ma comunque doveroso ricordare l’impegno ed il sostegno della Provincia Autonoma di Trento, nella persona dell’assessore Tiziano Mellarini, del comune di Riva del Garda nella persona dell’Assessore Renza Bollettin, della Regione Trentino Alto Adige, dell’azienda di Promozione Turistica del Garda Trentino, della Federazione Corpi Bandistici di Trento ed al suo presidente Renzo Braus, del Bim, Bacini Imbriferi Montani Sarca Garda Mincio, della fondazione Caritro. Un particolare ringraziamento alla Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, alla ditta Yamaha Music Europe nella persona di Gianbattista Corti, a Riva del Garda Fiere e Congressi, alla fattiva collaborazione del Corpo Bandistico Riva del Garda ed al suo Presidente Lino Trenti. With the 2017 event concluded, it will soon be time for the XXth edition of the Flicorno d’Oro International Band Competition, which will return for its traditional Spring-time musical slot. After last year’s massive presence and with the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano (CH) of M° Franco Cesarini crowned with the prestigious Flicorno D’Oro Trophy, the 2018 edition will be an incentive for other bands coming as usual from all over Europe. 38 ensembles will take part in the six different categories, trying to top the competition. In Riva del Garda they will find an organization which has been running ever since 1991, proof of the successful organisation. In nineteen editions, over 900 bands took part at the competition, contributing to a renovation of the whole national and international movement that, in Riva del Garda, has written one of the best pages in its entire history in every sense: quality music; artistic development; revival of the Italian band tradition – side by side with many new composers and last but not least, the many young people who, in ever increasing numbers, enter the competition. The organisational commitment demonstrated by the Flicorno d’Oro Association over the past months is identical to previous efforts, and this, no doubt, will guarantee the success of the event. News is the artistic direction now in Maestro Marco Somadossi’s hands. Former student of Maestro Daniele Carnevali, is currently professor in Composition and Instrumentation for Wind Bands in the Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine. Together M° Somadossi and M° Carnevali will set the future of our competition. The jury is made up of musicians of international fame and charisma. I would like to take this opportunity to offer my heartfelt thanks to all those who have agreed to join us in Riva del Garda. The unquestionable musical stature of the jury has always been, and will continue to be, a guarantee of precise assessments, recognised both in Italy and abroad as one of the most vital elements of the event. Once again, this year, the competition will be accompanied by a display of musical instruments, meetings and debates, which will enhance the experience for those who opt to spend a weekend in Riva del Garda in the quest for music and culture. We therefore offer once again this chance to meet and compare different musical scenarios, which give the competition its unusual edge and distinct quality, making it unique in the whole of Italy, and enabling Riva del Garda to be one of Europe’s capitals for band music. The shapes and multi-coloured uniforms are a symbol of belonging to different musical cultures, and behind which hundreds of musicians express their desire to get to know each other and to listen to each other. Another truly exciting aspect is the presence of so many young people who, in recent editions, have had the chance to be appreciated for their artistic talents, as well as giving the event a new and dynamic image. The inaugural concert turns back this year, with the exhibition oh the prestigious Brescia Wind Orchestra under the baton of M° Davide Pozzali. Winner of the Flicorno d’Oro in 2016, is one of the best ensemble in the international scenario – contributing to the high quality level of current edition. Vital and important to remember is the commitment and support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, represented by the assessor Tiziano Mellarini, of the municipality of Riva del Garda, represented by the assessor Renza Bollettin, of the Trentino Alto Adige region, Garda Trentino – the local tourist board, the Band Federation of the Province of Trento and their chairman, Renzo Braus, of BIM, (the Sarca, Garda, Mincio catchment area) and the Caritro foundation. Special thanks to the Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, to the Yamaha Music Europe company, represented by Gianbattista Corti, to Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, to the active contribution of the Riva del Garda Band Corps and its chairman, Lino Trenti. To all the volunteers, whose endeavours will ensure the success of the event, I offer my sincere thanks. I wish you all a happy and peaceful stay in Riva del Garda and, to all the bands enrolled, I hope that the competition will fulfil you with new motivation and renewed enthusiasm in the quest for music. 2017 Flicorno d’Oro wurde gerade zu den Akten gelegt, und da steht auch schon die 20. Ausgabe des Flicorno d’Oro vor der Tür. Der Wettbewerb ist mit der Zeit, eine im Frühling wiederkehrende, traditionelle musikalische Begegnung geworden. Die letzte Veranstaltung war wieder ein Beweis einer erfolgreichen Organisation, die 1991 begann. Die letztjährige Edition sah eine massive Teilnahme von Blasorchesters mit die Civica Filarmonica von Lugano von M° Franco Cesarini, die dem Flicorno d’Oro Preis gewonnen hat. 2018 wird wieder eine Internationale Mehrheit sehen mit der Teilnahme von achtunddreißig Ensembles die an sechs Kategorien teilnehmen. Riva del Garda wird sie willkommen heißen mit einer Organisation die seit 1991 eine der wichtigsten Seite der musikalischen Geschichte geschrieben hat. In 19. Editionen haben mehr als 900 Blasorchester an der Erneuerung der nationalen und internationalen musikalischen Bewegung mitgewirkt um die Qualität der Musik, das künstlerisches Wachstum und die Wiedergewinnung der italienischen Tradition der Blasorchesterswelt zu neuem Leben zu erwecken.

Das in den letzten Monaten große organisatorische Engagement des Vereines Flicorno d’Oro wird garantiert für einen neuen Erfolg sorgen. Die künstlerische Leitung wird ab diesem Jahr von Maestro Marco Somadossi entnommen. Ehemaliger Lehrling von Maestro Daniele Carnevali, ist Dozent in Komposition und Instrumentierung für Blasorchesters bei der Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine. Miteinander, Maestro Somadossi und Maestro Carnevali werden die Zukunft der Flicorno d’Oro zeichnen. Die internationale Jury wird auf weltberühmte und charismatische Musiker zählen. Der Vorsitzende Maestro Norbert Nozy (B) wird von Maestri Fernando Bonete Piqueras (E), Alex Schillings (NL), Vincent Kennedy (IRL), Janis Purins (LV), Marco Pütz (LUX), Fulvio Creux (I) unterstützt. Ich möchte bei dieser Gelegenheit allen herzlich danken, dass sie eingewilligt haben, an der internationalen Jury teilzunehmen. Auch in dieser Ausgabe finden neben dem Wettbewerb, Treffen und Debatten statt, die eine Bereicherung für alle jene darstellen, die ein Wochenende in Riva del Garda unter dem Zeichen der Musik und Kultur verbringen möchten. Das hohe unbestreitbar musikalische Niveau der Jury hat in der Vergangenheit und wird auch zukünftig eine präzise Abschätzung versichern, was als den wertvollsten Bestandteil dieser Veranstaltung, sowohl in Italien als auch im Ausland, bezeichnet wurde. Es wird also wieder ein Treffen von verschiedenen Musikkulturen stattfinden, die dem Wettbewerb jene Besonderheit und Auszeichnung verleihen, die ihm zu etwas Einzigartigem in Italien macht und die Stadt Riva del Garda zu einer der europäischen Hauptstädten der BlasorchesterMusik werden lässt. Trachten und farbenprächtige Uniformen als Symbol der Zugehörigkeit zu verschiedenen Musikkulturen, hunderte Musiker, die sich kennenlernen und konfrontieren möchten. Eine weitere erfreuliche Tatsache ist die Anwesenheit so vieler Jungen, die bei den letzten Ausgaben die Möglichkeit hatten, sich durch ihre künstlerischen Leistungen auszuzeichnen und der Veranstaltungen ein neues und dynamisches Image verleihen. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt des Wettbewerbes ist der Eröffnungsabend, wo wir abgesehen von den rituellen Begrüßungen auch die Gelegenheit haben werden, ein Konzert mit dem Brescia Wind Orchestra von Maestro Davide Pozzali zuhören. Ihnen gilt unsere offizielle Danksagung. Mit dieser Gelegenheit möchte ich mich natürlich auch für den Einsatz und die Unterstützung der Autonomen Provinz Trient, in Person von Assessor Tiziano Mellarini, der Gemeinde Riva del Garda, in Person von Renza Bollettin, der Region Trentino Alto Adige/Südtirol, des Tourismusverbandes Garda Trentino, des Verbandes der Musikkapellen von Trient und dessen Präsidenten Renzo Braus, des Bim (Gebirgeseinzugsgebiete) Sarca Garda Mincio, der Stiftung Caritro bedanken. Ein besonderes Dankeschön geht auch an Cassa Rurale Alto Garda, an die Firma Yamaha Music Europe, in Person von Gianbattista Corti, an den Messeverband von Riva del Garda, an die aktive Mitarbeit der Musikkapelle Riva del Garda in Person ihrers Präsidenten Lino Trenti. Il “Flicorno d’oro” è divenuto, edizione dopo edizione, un appuntamento qualificante per Riva del Garda e per il Trentino andando oltre gli importanti significati musicali e offrendo spunti interessanti anche sul terreno della promozione territoriale della nostra provincia e della sua capacità di organizzare e gestire con competenza eventi di carattere internazionale. Nel corso degli anni, il concorso ha visto un crescente apprezzamento traducendosi in un’esperienza radicata ed autorevole nel panorama musicale europeo, allargando i confini della nostra provincia a migliaia di appassionati bandisti, gettando un importante sguardo al futuro e riservando grande attenzione anche al mondo giovanile. Fin dalla sua prima edizione del 1992, il Flicorno d’Oro si è posto l’obiettivo di creare momenti di confronto musicale e occasioni di arricchimento artistico. La notevole partecipazione e la crescita del livello artistico dei gruppi in concorso hanno accreditato l’appuntamento facendolo divenire un vero e proprio momento di incontro e di riferimento per gli appassionati della musica bandistica ad ampio respiro. Il ritrovarsi a Riva del Garda sta infatti divenendo ricorrente in molte formazioni bandistiche provenienti da diversi Paesi europei. Se a questo poi si affiancano la competenza e la professionalità con cui le giurie che si sono succedute negli anni hanno accompagnato le più diverse interpretazioni nelle varie categorie, è con soddisfazione che possiamo considerare il Flicorno d’Oro un vero e proprio gioiellino con cui l’intero Trentino, con orgoglio, si apre e guarda all’Europa. Un sentito ringraziamento va all’associazione organizzatrice di Riva del Garda, agli enti pubblici e privati, a tutti i volontari che con passione e dedizione collaborano per la piena riuscita anche di questa edizione 2018 del concorso e di tutte le iniziative che ad esso fanno riferimento. Un benvenuto ai musicisti partecipanti e ai loro accompagnatori con l’augurio che il “Flicorno d’Oro” possa essere nuovamente vissuto e ricordato certamente come esperienza artistica stimolante ma anche come momento ricco di conoscenza e arricchimento culturale personale.

The growing appreciation for Flicorno d’Oro witnesses what it is now considered a validated and deeply rooted event in the international cultural scene, attracting the best bands from all over Europe, casting an interesting glance towards the future, and also paying great attention to the youth element. Since its first edition in 1992, Flicorno d’Oro aims to create discussion and musical opportunities for artistic enrichment. The steady increase of participation and the growth of the artistic level of the bands in the competition have confirmed the value of this competition making it a true meeting point for lovers of band music. The meeting in Riva del Garda is in fact becoming recurrent in music and wind bands from different European countries thanks to the famous musicians that in the years were called to judge, and it is with satisfaction that we can consider Flicorno d’Oro a real jewel with which Trentino, with pride, opens and looks to Europe. A heartfelt thanks goes to the organizing association of Riva del Garda, public and private institutions, to all the volunteers who, with passion and dedication work for the success of this 2018 edition of the competition. A welcome to the participating bands and groups with the hope that Flicorno d’Oro will certainly be lived and remembered as a high-level artistic experience but also as a time full of knowledge and cultural personal enrichment.

Die ständig zunehmende Beliebtheit von “Flicorno d’Oro” ist Zeuge dafür, wie wichtig und verwurzelt diese Veranstaltung bereits im internationalen Kulturpanorama ist. Ein Event, das die Grenzen unserer Provinz für die besten europäischen Blasorchester öffnet und einen interessanten Blick auf die Zukunft und auch auf die Welt der Jugend wirft. Bereits seit der ersten Ausgabe im Jahre 1992 hat sich Flicorno d’Oro das Ziel gesteckt, Gelegenheiten für die musikalische Konfrontation und künstlerische Bereicherung zu schaffen. Die steigende Zunahme an Teilnehmern und die ständige Verbesserung des künstlerischen Niveaus der am Wettbewerb teilnehmenden Gruppen haben der Veranstaltung Glaubwürdigkeit verliehen und sie zu einem wahren Treffpunkt für Liebhaber von Blasorchestermusik gemacht. Das Zusammentreffen in Riva del Garda wird zu einer regelmäßigen Gewohnheit für viele aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern kommenden Blasorchester. Wenn man dazu noch die Kompetenz und die Seriosität der Jurien betrachtet, die im Laufe der Jahre die verschiedenartigsten Interpretationen in den diversen Kategorien begleitet haben, so können wir mit Genugtuung die Veranstaltung Flicorno d’Oro als ein echtes und wertvolles Juwel betrachten, mit dem sich das ganze Trentino mit Stolz dem Europa öffnet. Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht an die Organisatoren der Veranstaltung von Riva del Garda, an die öffentlichen und privaten Ämter, an alle Freiwilligen, die mit Liebe und großem Einsatz zum guten Gelingen auch dieser 2018 Ausgabe des Wettbewerbs und aller Initiativen beitragen. Ich möchte auch die teilnehmenden Musiker und deren Begleiter herzlich willkommen heißen, mit dem Wunsch, dass die Veranstaltung Flicorno d’Oro nicht nur als künstlerische Erfahrung von hohem Niveau erlebt wird, sondern auch als ein Moment der persönlichen kulturellen Bereicherung.

Come consuetudine, anche quest’anno la nostra città saluta la primavera in compagnia del prestigioso concorso bandistico internazionale «Flicorno d’Oro». Si tratta della ventesima edizione, dunque di un traguardo importante, per una manifestazione la cui dimensione competitiva non scalfisce l’atmosfera festosa di un grande ritrovo di tantissime persone provenienti da tante parti del mondo, accomunate dall’amore per la musica, dai valori della pacifica convivenza e da una particolare sensibilità per la bellezza. Un sentimento, l’amore per la musica, che caratterizza in modo speciale Riva del Garda, città che si distingue per avere un Conservatorio, una Scuola musicale e un liceo musicale, e per ospitare numerosi concorsi, festival e concerti. Come sa bene chi la frequenta, da sempre la musica è di casa a Riva del Garda, e concorre a farne, ancora di più, una città aperta, ospitale e divertente. A tutti i partecipanti, dunque, l’augurio di una stimolante esperienza e di una piacevole permanenza nella nostra città, e agli organizzatori una sentita, doverosa testimonianza di gratitudine.

As tradition, the municipality of Riva del Garda greets the spring season with the prestigious International Band Competition Flicorno d’Oro. 20 editions are an important achievement for an event where the competitive element is the occasion for a great meeting of people who love music, from many countries of the world and for its values discovered so close, shared, essential, precious in these occasions. A welcome that I express in the name of Riva del Garda, a city who always loves, welcomes and enjoy music, and not surprisingly hosts a conservatory, a music school, music high school and many prestigious musical events. I offer the warmest of welcomes to all the participants wishing them the best agonistic achievement, thanking all people involved in the organisation, all of them are essential to make this great moment of conviviality, amusement and meeting real.

Wie Tradition, Riva del Garda grüßt Frühling mit „Flicorno d’Oro“. Die zwanzigste Edition bezeichnet ein wichtiges Ziel für eine Veranstaltung, die, neben der Konfrontation und dem Wettbewerb unter den bedeutendsten Musikkapellen aus aller Welt, vielen Menschen, die Musik lieben, erleben, verbreiten und schenken, die Gelegenheit bietet, sich in unserer Stadt zu treffen. Ein Anlass, der die schon immer offene und Musik liebende Stadt Riva del Garda – Sitz eines Konservatorium, einer Musikschule und eines Musik Gymnasium- noch schöner, lebhafter und festlicher werden lässt. Ich wünsche allen Teilnehmern, dass ihr Aufenthalt in unserer Stadt zu einem angenehmen und schönen Erlebnis wird.

Siamo giunti alla ventesima edizione del concorso Flicorno d’Oro organizzato a Riva Del Garda ormai dal lontano 1991, un concorso internazionale tra i più importanti d’Europa che vede anche per quest’anno un’ottima partecipazione di bande provenienti da tutta Europa, un’organizzazione collaudata con grandi capacità tecniche ed organizzative. Una qualità musicale in continuo aumento che porta ad avere delle eccellenze del mondo bandistico internazionale. La competenza e la serietà della giuria sono il presupposto del successo del concorso, una giuria internazionale di alto livello che sa qualificare al meglio il livello dei Corpi Bandistici partecipanti esprimendo dei giudizi dove la banda deve collocarsi nelle varie categorie previste. Un plauso va al Corpo Bandistico di Riva del Garda ed al suo staff per l’organizzazione nei minimi particolari di un evento di così grande importanza, la capacità di essere attrattivi rispetto ai sistemi bandistici nazionali ed internazionali e le capacità nell’aspetto aggregante e formativo della musica, stanno a dimostrare la validità del settore bandistico trentino anche in un’epoca di ristrettezze economiche. L’amore per la musica, l’apertura verso le Bande Musicali di tutta Europa, complessi musicali molto amati, popolari vicino alla gente, alle loro tradizioni, fa si che nei tre giorni di musica spettacolo e di festa, dia un ulteriore impulso a questo Concorso Internazionale, punto molto importante del modo bandistico. La Federazione dei Corpi Bandistici del Trentino auspica che l’organizzazione di questo grande evento musicale possa continuare nel futuro per elevare ulteriormente la qualità delle bande partecipanti.

Twenty editions of the Flicorno d’Oro competition are a worthy proof on how this event is by now a deeply-rooted experience - not only locally in the Trentino region, but worldwide also. A rising music quality leads to excellence of the international band world, competence and seriousness of the jury is the basis to the success of the competition. A high-level international jury that knows how best to qualify the level of the participating groups by expressing reliability judgments. The band is a music ensemble near to people and their local traditions, we are thankful to the Flicorno d’Oro to give the right visibility and space to bands from all over Europe. The Federazione dei corpi bandistici della provincia di Trento (Trentino Bands Federation) wishes to the organizer a constant future growth in order to increase even more the quality of the participating bands. Therefore, the Trentino Band Corps Federation hopes that the organisation of this great musical event may continue well into the future raising the quality of participating bands even further, in an event that became during the last years a high skilling artistic experience and a moment of personal enrichment.

Dass wir nun hier sind und die Zwanzigste Edition des internationalen Blasorchesterwettbewerbs Flicorno D’Oro zelebrieren, beweist, dass sich dieses Ereignis immer mehr in der regionalen und internationalen Kultur verwurzelt. Das immer höhere musikalische Niveau ermöglicht die Teilnahme exzellenter Blasorchesters. Des Weiteren ist die Kompetenz sowie Seriosität der Jury eine unabdingbare Voraussetzung für einen erfolgreichen Wettbewerb. Denn diese internationale Jury ist in der Lage, die Teilnehmer auf hoch qualifizierter Art und Weise zu evaluieren und zu bewerten, wer hier als Sieger hervorgehen wird. Das Blasorchester ist ein musikalisches Ensemble, dass die Kultur und Traditionen der hier lebenden Menschen versinnbildlicht und der Flicorno d’Oro hebt die Wichtigkeit dieser nochmals hervor und dies Zurecht! Die rege Anzahl der Teilnehmer aus unterschiedlichen europäischen Ländern zeigt uns, dass das Ansehen des Flicorno d’Oro in den letzten Jahren immer weiter gestiegen ist und für uns alle eine Bereicherung darstellt. In diesem Sinne wünschen wir allen Teilnehmern viel Erfolg, eine wundervolle Zeit und heißen jeden beim Flicorno d’Oro und natürlich hier im Trentino, herzlich Willkommen.

Marco Somadossi nasce a Rovereto nel 1968. Compie gli studi musicali presso il Conservatorio F. A. Bonporti di Trento diplomandosi in Trombone, in Strumentazione per Banda e laureandosi in Direzione e Composizione per banda con il massimo dei voti e la lode. Ha approfondito lo studio della composizione con Stephen Meililo (Usa) e James Barnes (Usa), quello della direzione con Jan Cober (NL), Felix Hauswirth (CH) e altri docenti. Dopo un’intensa attività artistica come strumentista (Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Youth Symphonic Band of the European Communities, Junge Schweizer Philarmonie, Pomeriggi musicali di Milano, Cameristi di Verona, Accademia Filarmonica Trentina, APM Brass Ensemble, En Chamade, Sudtiroler Blaserensemble, Symphonic Winds e molti altri) si è dedicato alla composizione e alla direzione di banda e di ensemble strumentali. La sua attività di musicista l’ha portato a lavorare in tutta Europa (Austria, Svizzera, Germania, Repubblica Ceca, Repubblica Slovacca, Ungheria, Lettonia, Bielorussia, Olanda, Belgio, Lussemburgo, Francia, Spagna) e USA (Stanford University, California) distinguendosi in modo particolare per le sue composizioni molte delle quali risultate vincitrici in premi internazionali di composizione e brani d’obbligo nei più importanti concorsi d’esecuzione. Attivo sia nella produzione di musica originale per banda, che nella stesura di arrangiamenti per strumenti a fiato e percussioni, si è particolarmente distinto per progetti, produzioni e pubblicazioni che lo hanno visto a fianco dei più importanti musicisti italiani. Fra questi spiccano le produzioni per la più importante rivista musicale italiana, “Amadeus”, le registrazioni di musica didattica con una banda giovanile per Scomegna Ed. Musicali, i 9 CD registrati come direttore. Sue composizioni sono state brano d’obbligo nei più importanti concorsi d’esecuzione europei e nazionali e sono state eseguite in tutta Europa, America e Asia. E’ spesso invitato come direttore ospite ad importanti festival in Italia e all’estero, nonché come docente di stage o corsi di direzione. Ha lavorato sia nel campo della musica colta, del teatro, che della musica pop, collaborando, tra l’altro, con Antonella Ruggiero, Tosca, Goran Bregovic, Chiara Luppi, Mario Perrotta e Paola Roscioli. Invitato spesso come giurato in concorsi, sia di esecuzione che di composizione, è altresì molto attivo come docente in corsi sia di formazione che di perfezionamento in direzione. E’ docente della cattedra di Composizione e Strumentazione per Orchestra di Fiati del Conservatorio “Jacopo Tomadini” di Udine. E’ direttore artistico (dal 2005) del “Campus Musica Insieme” e direttore della Banda Giovanile Anbima Friuli Venezia Giulia, dell’orchestra di fiati del Conservatorio di Udine e dal 1997 del Corpo Bandistico di Albiano (TN). La sua musica è edita da Scomegna ed. musicali (TO).

Bonporti” Conservatory where he achieved a diploma in Trombone and Instrumentation for Bands, and obtained a degree in conducting and composition of Band Music with a first-class honours degree in Tilburg, NL. He went on to further studies in Composition with Stephen Meililo (USA) and James Barnes (USA), and in Conducting with Jan Cober (NL), Felix Hauswirth (CH) and many others. After an intense career as trombone player with several orchestras (Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Youth Symphonic Band of the European Communities, Junge Schweizer Philarmonie, Pomeriggi musicali di Milano, Cameristi di Verona, Accademia Filarmonica Trentina, APM Brass Ensemble, En Chamade, Sudtiroler Blaserensemble, Symphonic Winds and many others) he decided to focus his activity exclusively conducting and composing band and ensemble music. This allowed him to work in all Europe (Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia, Belarus, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Spain) and in the USA (Stanford University, California) making himself noticed with compositions awarded with international prizes and chosen as compulsory pieces in the most important competitions of the world. Very active both in composing original music for bands and arranging transcriptions for wind and percussions instruments, he has been particularly notable for projects, works and publications realized with the most important Italian musicians. To be mentioned are his productions for the most important Italian music magazine, “Amadeus”, his didactics music recording with a youth band for Scomegna Ed. musicali and 9 CDs recorded as a conductor. Appreciated jury member, he is frequently invited to hold national and international workshops. He is also often invited as guest conductor at important festivals in Italy and abroad. He works for theatre, folk and pop music and collaborated with well-known artists as Antonella Ruggiero, Tosca, Goran Bregovic, Chiara Luppi, Mario Perrotta and Paola Roscioli. M° Somadossi is currently teaching Composition and Instrumentation for Wind Bands at the Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine. Furthermore, he is artistic director of the “Campus Musica Insieme”, conductor of the Banda Giovanile Anbima Friuli Venezia Giulia, of the Conservatorio di Udine Band, and since 1997, of the Corpo Bandistico di Albiano. Seine Kompositionen, die er oft im Auftrag schrieb, wurden bei wichtigen Festivals in Europa und

Amerika vorgestellt und werden oft als Pflichtstücke für die wichtigsten national und internationalen Blasmusikwettbewerben eingesetzt. Mit seiner Arbeit, Projekten und Veröffentlichungen arbeitete er mit den berühmtesten italienischen Musikern aus allen Bereichen zusammen: Antonella Ruggiero, Tosca, Goran Bregovic, Chiara Luppi, Mario Perrotta und Paola Roscioli. Zu erwähnen sind die Produktionen für die italienische Musikzeitschrift „Amadeus“ – die pädagogischen Aufnahmen mit einer Jugendblasorkester für Scomegna Ed. Musicali und die Aufnahmen von 9 CDs als Dirigent. Er ist Dozent für Instrumentierung und Komposition für Blasorchester bei der Musikhochschule Conservatorio „Jacopo Tomadini“ in Udine. Er hat Praktiken, Seminare und Intensivkurse in fast allen Regionen Italiens gehalten und wird regelmäßig als Jurymitglied bei nationalen und internationalen Blasorchesterwettbeerben in den verschiedenen europäischen Ländern eingeladen. Seit 2005 ist M° Somadossi der künstlerischer Leiter von „Campus Musica Insieme“ und Dirigent des Blasorchesters der Banda Giovanile Anbima Friuli Venezia Giulia und sowie seit 1997 vom Corpo Bandistico di Albiano. Daniele Carnevali, diplomatosi al Conservatorio di Parma in tromba e strumentazione per banda e in musica corale e direzione di coro al Conservatorio di Bologna, ha poi seguito corsi di direzione d’orchestra con il Maestro Piero Guarino. Inizialmente svolse attività di trombettista in varie orchestre lirico-sinfoniche quali la “Arturo Toscanini” dell’Emilia Romagna e altre, alternandole all’insegnamento di tromba e trombone nei Conservatori di Parma e Modena. Contemporaneamente si dedicò all’arrangiamento e alla trascrizione di complessi per ottoni e a composizioni originali per bande attraverso le quali si distinse vincendo diversi premi. Le sue composizioni si caratterizzano per l’utilizzo di vari generi musicali, per le differenti tipologie d’organico bandistico e per i diversi gradi di difficoltà, grazie ai quali sono spesso utilizzate come brani d’obbligo nei concorsi in Italia e in Francia. Carnevali collaborò con molte case editrici come Eridanea, Molenaar e dal 1993 a oggi in modo continuo ed esclusivo con Scomegna. Le sue circa trenta composizioni sono state incise in più di quaranta cd, dieci dei quali registrati dall’autore in Italia (ed. Scomegna) e in Germania (ed. Carpe Diem). Diresse inoltre le bande di Sabbioneta, G. Verdi Città di Parma, i “101” di Fabbrico, il Corpo bandistico di Albiano, la Trentino Wind Band (TN - primo premio Valencia 1998) e come ospite anche alcune formazioni prestigiose come: Banda dell’Esercito Italiana, Filarmonica G. Maestro Daniele Carnevali graduated in trumpet and band instrumentation at the Conservatory of Parma and in choral music and conduction at the Conservatory of Bologna. Daniele Carnevali hat am Konservatorium von Parma das Diplom Trompete und Instrumentierung für Musikkapellen erworben, sowie für Chormusik und Chorleitung am Konservatorium von Bologna. Er hat verschiedene Kurse Orchesterleitung bei Maestro Piero Guarino besucht. Er komponiert für unterschiedliche Musikgenres und für die verschiedensten Gruppenzusammensetzungen; seine Kompositionen variieren auch bezüglich Schwierigkeitsgrad und werden oft als Pflichtstück bei Wettbewerben in Italien und Frankreich eingesetzt. Er hat mit den Musikverlegern Eridanea und Molenaar zusammengearbeitet und ab 1993 veröffentlicht er ausschließlich bei Scomegna. Seine 30 Kompositionen wurden auf mehr als 40 CDs herausgebracht, 10 davon nahm er in Italien (Musikverlag Scomegna) und in Deutschland (Musikverlag Carpe Diem) auf. Er hat folgende Blaskapellen geleitet: Musikkapelle Sabbioneta, G. Direttore, virtuoso e pedagoga, Norbert Norzy è nato a Halen in Belgio. Nozy fu iniziato alla musica in giovane età da suo padre, succedendogli a diciassette anni nel ruolo di direttore della locale orchestra di fiati. Studente presso il Conservatorio di Bruxelles e il Lemmens Institute di Leuven, ha completato gli studi con 6 Primi Premi e il Diploma Superiore di sassofono. In seguito ha studiato direzione d’orchestra con Andre Vandernoot, Yvon Ducène, Leonce Gras e Jean-Sebastien Bereau presso il Conservatorio di Parigi; per poi completare la sua formazione orchestrazione e fuga con Victor Legley, divenuto suo stretto amico e mentore. Nozy è anche accreditato come uno dei più illustri esponenti della scuola belga di sassofoni. Vincitore nel 1970 del “Pro Civitate Contest” a Bruxelles, tre anni più tardi si impose nel “Gaudeamus Contest” di Rotterdam per la sua interpretazione della musica contemporanea. Nel 1975 vince il “Strawinsky Concours” per giovani direttori organizzato dal Teatro Monnaie di Bruxelles. Nel 1972 si aggrega al Belgian Saxophone Quartet e più tardi anche al Belgian Saxophone Ensemble. Nella stagione 1973-1974 è stato “professore ospite e lettore” presso la North Texas State University (USA). Un anno più tardi è stato ingaggiato come sassofonista dalla “Guides Orchestra” ricoprendo poi le cariche di direttore principale e direttore artistico dal 1985 al 2003. Insegnante presso il Lemmensinstituut di Leuven, attualmente è professore presso i Conservatori di Bruxelles e Maastricht (Paesi Bassi), direttore e solista con altre orchestre sinfoniche in Belgio e all’estero. Nel 1991 la “Union of Belgian Composers” lo onora con il riconoscimento “Fuga Trophee” per i suoi meriti di promozione e interpretazione della musica belga. Nel 2004 riceve l’incarico dal governo olandese di consulente per la riorganizzazione delle Orchestre Militari olandesi. Ha quindi diretto la nuova formazione “Royal Military Band Johan Willem Friso” fino al 2006, incidendo con loro in una breve distanza temporale ben 5 CD. Nel suo complessivo, Norbert Norzy ha diretto oltre 900 concerti ed è stato responsabile di più di 120 creazioni mondiali, sia come direttore che come solista. Sotto la sua direzione la “Guides Orchestra” è riuscita a confermare la sua fama mondiale, permettendogli di invitare solisti del calibro di Barbara Hendrikx, Evgeny Mogilevsky, Mikhael Bersverkny, Eddy Daniels, Richard Galliano, Maurice André, Daniel Blumenthal, Manuel Rosenthal, Michel Becket, Jean-Claude Van den Eynden, Véronique Bogaerts. Norbert Norzy è un apprezzato membro di giuria in concorsi internazionali tra gli altri: il Certamen Internacional di Valencia, il Tromp Concurs ad Eindhoven, il W.M.C. a Kerkrade, il Maria Callas Concurs ad Atene, il Concurs d’Orchestres à Vent a Strasburgo, il Coups de Vents concurs di Lille. La sua discografia conta l’incisione di più di 65 CD. 30

Conductor, virtuoso and pedagogue Norbert Norzy was born in Halen, Belgium. At the age of 17 he succeeded his father as conductor of the local Wind Orchestra. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and at the Lemmens Institut in Leuven and graduated with 6 First Prizes and the Superior Diploma for saxophone. He studied conducting with André Vandernoot, Leonce Gras, and with Jean Sébastien Bereau at the Paris Conservatory. He completed his formation in fugue and orchestration with Victor Legley, who became his close friend and mentor. He has become one of the most prominent protagonists of the Belgian Saxophone School. In 1970, he won the “Pro Civitate Contest” in Brussels and three year later the Gaudeamus Contest” in Rotterdam for the interpretation of contemporary music. In 1975, he won the “Strawinsky Concours” for young conductors, organized by Monnaie Theatre in Brussels. In 1972, he joined the Belgian Saxophone Quartet and then the Belgian Saxophone Ensemble. He was appointed “Visiting Lecturer and Teacher” by the North Texas State University for the season 1973-1974. One year later he was engaged by the “Guides Orchestra” as a saxophonist and became Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of this orchestra from 1985 till 2003. He was teaching at the Lemmens Instituut in Leuven and is now teacher at the Royal Conservatory’s of Brussels and Maastricht. (Netherlands) and guest conductor and soloist with symphonic orchestras in Belgium and abroad. In 1991, the Union of Belgian Composers honored him with the “Fuga Trophee” for his merits as a promoter and interpreter of Belgian Music. In 2004, the Dutch government called upon him as advisor during the restructuration of the Dutch Military Orchestras. He conducted the newly formed “Royal Military Band Johan Willem Friso” till 2006 and recorded 5 CD’s with them in a very short period of time. Norbert Nozy conducted all together more than 900 concerts and was responsible for over 120 world creations, both as conductor and soloist. Under his baton, the “Guides Orchestra” confirmed his world reputation which allowed him to invite soloists of great reputation such as: Barbara Hendrikx, Evgeny Mogilevsky, Mikhael Bersverkny, Eddy Daniels, Richard Galliano, Maurice André, Daniel Blumenthal, Manuel Rosenthal, Michel Becket, Jean-Claude Van den Eynden, Véronique Bogaerts, etc. He is a greatly appreciated jury member in international competitions such as: Certamen Internacional de Valencia, the Tromp Concurs in Eindhoven, The W.M.C. in Kerkrade, the Maria Callas Concurs in Athens, the Concurs d’Orchestres à Vent in Strasbourg, the Coups de Vents concurs in Lille. His discography counts over 65 CD’s. Norbert Norzy wurde in Halen (Belgien) geboren. Norbert Norzy ist Dirigent, Saxophone-Virtuose und Pädagoge. Mit 17 folgte er seinem Vater als Dirigent des örtlichen Blasorchesters. Er studierte am Royal Conservatory in Brüssel und am Lemmens Institut in Leuven und erwarb das Diplom mit 6 Ersten Preisen und das höchste Diplom in Saxophon. Danach studierte er Orchester Arangement bei André Vandernoot, Leonce Gras und Jean-Sébastien Bereau am Konservatorium in Paris und beendete seine Ausbildung mit Victor Legley, seinem großen Freund und Mentor. 1991 errang er von der Belgischen Komponistenvereinigung den „Fuga Trophee-Preis“ für seine Arbeit als Promoter und Vermittler der Belgischen Musik. 2004 wurde er von der holländischen Regierung berufen um das Holländische Militär Orchester zu renovieren. Bis 2006 dirigierte er die neu formierte „Royal Military Band Johan Willem Friso” und nahm in kürzester Zeit 5 CDs auf. Insgesamt dirigierte er mehr als 900 Konzerte und über 120 World Creations, sowohl als Dirigent als auch Solist. Dank seiner Leitung konnte das „Guides Ochestra“ mit berühmten Solisten wie Barbara Hendrikx, Evgeny Mogilevsky, Mikhael Bersverkny, Eddy Daniels, Richard Galliano, Maurice André, Daniel Blumenthal, Manuel Rosenthal, Michel Becket, Jean-Claude van den Eynden und Véronique Bogaerts zusammenarbeiten. Maestro Fulvio Creux è diplomato in Strumentazione per Banda, in Musica corale e direzione di Coro, in Composizione e in Direzione d’Orchestra (Conservatori di Torino e Milano, anni ’80) e si è quindi perfezionato a vari Corsi tra cui, a Vienna, ai Wiener Mastercourses, con Charles Mackerras. Ha diretto oltre 60 concerti con varie orchestre fra cui Angelicum e Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Orchestra Sinfonica di San Remo ed Orchestra da Camera del Cantiere dell’Arte di Roma. Nel 1982 ha vinto il concorso nazionale per Direttore della Banda della Guardia di Finanza e in questa veste ha diretto oltre 200 concerti in sale e teatri italiani ed esteri (RAI di Roma, Milano, Torino, Accademia di S. Cecilia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, S. Carlo di Napoli, Fenice di Venezia, Teatro alla Scala di Milano). È stato docente ai Conservatori di Bologna e Avellino, alla Scuola Superiore di Musica “Accademia Musicale Pescarese” ed ai Corsi della FeBaTi di Lugano. Ha tenuto corsi a Santhià (VC), Verbania, Forìo d’Ischia (NA), Monterubbiano (AP), Quarna (VB), Delianuova e Melicucco (RC), per l’Anbima Sicilia e Nazionale, per le Regioni Umbria e Valle d’Aosta così come, per il settore dell’Alta formazione musicale presso i Conservatori di Fermo, Salerno, Lecce e Padova. Quale “direttore ospite”, ha diretto i più importanti complessi bandistici italiani (Accademia “Euterpe” della Provincia di Siracusa, Orchestre d’Harmonie du Val d’Aoste, Banda “S. È autore di composizioni, elaborazioni, trascrizioni, revisioni, prodotte per lo più su commissione e ha realizzato un DVD didattico dedicato alla Direzione (d’Orchestra e di Banda) per la Collana “Soffia la Musica” (Edizioni Accademia). Ha lavorato, a fianco di personaggi quali André Waignein, Hardy Mertens, Donald Hunsberger, nel DVD didattico “Bravo Maestro”, realizzato da Daniele Carnevali (con il patrocinio della Provincia e del Conservatorio di Trento), primo lavoro edito in Italia dedicato alla formazione tecnico culturale dei Direttori di Banda (Edizioni Scomegna). Ha curato varie trasmissioni sulla musica per banda per le tre reti RAI (Radio) e per la Radio Vaticana e realizzato numerose registrazioni discografiche e radiotelevisive, trasmesse dalle tre reti RAI, da Rai International, dalla Radio Svizzera, da Radio Israele e dalla Radio Vaticana. Ha vinto il Concorso Nazionale a Cattedra in “Strumentazione per banda” presso i Conservatori italiani vinto il Concorso Nazionale per Direttore della Banda dell’Esercito dirigendo in questa veste una innumerevole serie di concerti in Italia (Accademia di S. Cecilia e Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Carlo Felice di Genova, Massimo di Palermo, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Festival Pucciniano di Torre del Lago, Teatro alla Scala di Milano) ed all’estero (Usa, Egitto), alcuni dei quali alla presenza dei Presidenti O. L. Scalfaro, C. A. Ciampi, G. Napolitano e di S. S. Giovanni Paolo II. Ha orchestrato ed interpretato la versione fedele alla partitura autografa dell’Inno Nazionale Italiano, attualmente inserita, tra i simboli della Repubblica, alla voce “Inno Nazionale” sul sito internet del Quirinale. La musica di Vincent Kennedy è stata eseguita in tutto il mondo tra cui dal Irish National Symphony Orchestra, Dublin Philharmonic, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Orkestra Simfonike RTSH, Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne, Orchestre de Chambre d’Ariège, Antipodes Ensemble of Switzerland, Umbria Ensemble of Italy, Concorde, Donegal Camerata, Cantando, the Symphonic Band of An Garda Siochána, Rathfarnham Concert Band Society e dall’insieme delle bande dell’Esercito Irlandese come anche da svariati ensambles sinfonici di fiati, ottoni e bande di cornamuse. Nel gennaio del 2018 la famosa violinista francese Marie Cantagrill ha eseguito in prima mondiale il suo 2° Concerto per violino, ed egli ritornerà in Francia nel mese di luglio in qualità di membro internazionale della giuria per il concorso violinistico da lei tenuto. Nel 2014 l’Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne ha portato in tournée in tutta la Francia la sua composizione Where the North Wind Blows (2011). Nel 2009 la Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra ha eseguito la prima del suo primo Concerto per violino Dreams con la solista Cora Venus Lunny a New York nell’ambito di una tournée comprendente 48 città e concerti negli USA. Il governo Irlandese ha chiesto a Vincent di preparare una partitura manoscritta del movimento lento del concerto Dreams e questa è stata inserita nella capsula del tempo della nave vichinga Sea Stallion assieme ad altri manufatti quando ha fatto tappa a Dublino. La capsula del tempo è stata portata a bordo della Sea Stallion che è poi salpata per rientrare a Roskilde. Essa rimarrà lì per 250 anni, all’ombra della Cattedrale di Roskilde. Vincent ha diretto a Tirana la prima europea di Dreams con la solista Lirza Zaloshnja e l’Orkestra Simfonike RTSH assieme alla 7 Sinfonia di Beethoven e ad un’altra sua composizione Dublin – Overture to My City in un concerto trasmesso tutta la parte meridionale d’Europa. Ha precedentemente diretto una brillante esecuzione della sua composizione The Chronicles of Meath (2013), descritta da molti come uno dei momenti più significativi, al World Harp Congress in Sydney Australia. Il movimento Lament at the Boyne è ora presente nel programma del corso di arpa al Trinity College of Music London. La sua composizione What’sa Heaven For? (2006) commissionata da Rathfarnham Concert Band Society è stata eseguita dall’Associazione Mondiale delle Bande Sinfoniche ed Ensembles - World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) ed è stato brano d’obbligo nel Campionato Nazionale di Bande. Egli è onorato di essere quest’anno membro della Giuria Internazionale del concorso bandistico internazionale Flicorno d’Oro. Vincent ha ricevuto la sua prima educazione musicale a CBS Westland Row, Dublin ed ha proseguito lo studio della tromba prima al Royal Irish Academy of Music poi al DIT Conservatory of Music.

A 12 anni vince il concorso nazionale di Tromba (Feis Ceoil) nella categoria under 18 e diventa il membro più giovane del Irish National Youth Orchestra. A 14 anni vince nella categoria adulti ed a 19 fa parte del RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Come compositore Vincent è venuto alla ribalta quando ha vinto il concorso musicale della radio e televisione pubblica nazionale (RTÉ) indetto per celebrare le vita del broadcaster Michael O’Hehir. La composizione Soliloquy and March per banda sinfonica fu poi eseguita nello stadio nazionale Croke Park di fronte ad 83.000 spettatori e trasmesso in tutto il mondo. Da allora egli ha composto Symphonies, Cantatas, Overtures, Concertos, Musical e molta musica da camera. Vincent è stato commissionato dal Roscommon County Council di comporre IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN nell’ambito delle celebrazioni nazionali delle sommosse durante la Pasqua del 1916, eventi che hanno portato alla nascita della Repubblica d’Irlanda. È stato inoltre il brano che ha chiuso un anno di celebrazioni di questi eventi ad aprile 2017. Uno dei movimenti, “Arbour Hill”, è stato eseguito dopo la prima, ogni mese in Irlanda. L’intera composizione è stata eseguita il 18 marzo scorso a Donegal, Irlanda, in un concerto diretto dallo stesso Vincent in occasione dei 10 anni del suo sodalizio con l’orchesta sinfonica sita più ad ovest d’Europa, la Donegal Orchestra. Recentemente il Galan Trio di Grecia ha pubblicato il CD “Switch”, molto apprezzato dalla critica, comprendente il trio con pianoforte commissionato dal Trio stesso a Vincent …spaces in your togetherness…. A Vincent sono stati inoltre commissionati, nell’ambito del processo di pace Irlandese, i lavori The Winds of Change (2007) e Where the North Wind Blows (2011) che sono stati eseguiti da gruppi transnazionali incrociati e generazionali. Vincent ha diretto la prima della musica a lui commissionata The Torch Still Burns Brightly a New Ross per commemorare il 50° anniversario della morte di John F Kennedy e nel 2014 Vincent ha completato ed eseguito la messa in scena di The Torch Still Burns Brightly al Civic Theatre in Tallaght. Questo lavoro si basa sulle parole ed eventi della vita di John F. Kennedy. Un movimento della composizione, per violoncello solo, Etude for Cello (aka Pablo Casals Comes to Tea) è nel programma di studi del 7°anno del Royal Irish Academy of Music. Vincent è il direttore musicale del Rathfarnham Concert Band Society dal 2011. È la più grande banda sinfonica di fiati in Irlanda, e li ha diretti anche in occasione della vincita del National Band Championships. Hanno inoltre eseguito due volte concerti al Royal Albert Hall a Londra e fatto tournée in Europa. In 2009 the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra premiered his first Violin concerto Dreams with Cora Venus Lunny as Soloist in New York as part of a 48 City concert tour of USA. The Irish Government asked Vincent to prepare a hand written score of the slow movement and this was placed inside a time capsule on the Viking ship the Sea Stallion along with other artefacts

when it visited Dublin. The time capsule was brought on board the Sea Stallion and sailed home to Roskilde. It will remain there for 250 years in the shadow of Roskilde Cathedral. Vincent conducted the European premiere in Tirana of Dreams with soloist Lirza Zaloshnja and Orkestra Simfonike RTSH along with Beethoven 7th Symphony and his own Dublin – Overture to My City in a concert that was later broadcast across southern Europe. He previously conducted a brilliant performance of his music The Chronicles of Meath (2013), described by many as one of the highlights, at the World Harp Congress in Sydney Australia. The movement Lament at the Boyne is now on the Harp Syllabus for Trinity College of Music London. His music What’sa Heaven For? (2006) commissioned by the Rathfarnham Concert Band Society was performed at the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) and was a test piece in the National Band Championships. He is honoured to be a member of this year’s International Jury to Flicorno d’Oro. Vincent received his earliest music education in CBS Westland Row, Dublin and went on to further studies in Trumpet at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and later at the DIT Conservatory of Music. Aged 12 he won the national Trumpet music competition (Feis Ceoil) in the under 18 category and became the youngest ever member of the Irish National Youth Orchestra. Aged 14 he won the adult competition and was performing with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland aged 19. As a composer Vincent came to prominence when he won the national public Radio and Television (RTÉ) Music Prize for music to celebrate the life of the broadcaster Michael O’Hehir. The composition Soliloquy and March for Symphonic Band was later performed in the national sports stadium named Croke Park in front of a sell-out crowd of 83,000 spectators and broadcast around the world. Since then he has written Symphonies, Cantatas, Overtures, Concertos, Musical and a lot of chamber music. Vincent’s was commissioned by Roscommon County Council to compose IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN for the Irish national celebrations of the 1916 Easter Rising, the event that led to the founding of the Irish Republic. It was also the work that closed a yearlong remembrance of the 1916 Easter Rising in April 2017. One of the movements “Arbour Hill” has been performed in Ireland every month since its premiere 16 months ago. A full performance of the work took place last Sunday 18th March in Donegal Ireland in a concert which Vincent conducted of his own work to mark his 10 year association with the most westerly symphony Orchestra in Europe, the Donegal Orchestra. Also recently the Galan Trio of Greece released their critically acclaimed CD “Switch” on which is Vincent’s piano trio …spaces in your togetherness… commissioned by the Galan Trio. Vincent has also been commissioned under the Irish peace process and his works The Winds of Change (2007) and Where the North Wind Blows (2011) were performed by cross border, cross generational groups. Vincent conducted the premiere of his commissioned music The Torch Still Burns Brightly in New Ross to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of John F Kennedy and in 2014 Vincent completed and performed the stage production of The Torch Still Burns Brightly at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght. This is based on words and episodes in the life of John F. Kennedy. A movement from the work for solo Cello, Etude for Cello (aka Pablo Casals Comes to Tea) is on the Grade VII syllabus of the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Vincent has been the musical director of the Rathfarnham Concert Band Society since 2011. This is the largest Symphonic Wind Band in Ireland and he has directed them in winning the National Band Championships. They have also performed twice in the Royal Albert Hall in London and toured in Europe. He has had a lifelong commitment to music education of young people and is also the conductor of the Donegal Youth Orchestra in Ireland which is considered one of the finest youth orchestras in Ireland.

Violinkonzerts vor und wurde im Juli als Mitglied der internationalen Jury ihres Violinwettbewerbs nach Frankreich bestellt. Im Jahr 2014 ging das Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne mit seiner Musik “Where the North Wind Blows (2011)” in Frankreich auf Tournee. He conducted student’s bands at Northern Iowa, Brigham Young, Nebraska Omaha and Christopher Newport Universities (USA), as well bands in Sweden, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Slovenia. MARCO PÜTZ Lussemburgo | Luxembourg

Nato in Lussemburgo nel 1958, Marco Pütz ha studiato musica (sassofono, musica da camera, armonia, contrappunto, direzione) in Lussemburgo, Bruxelles e Liegi. Dal 1987 ha composto più di 80 lavori, soprattutto per strumenti a fiato e bande sinfoniche, ma anche un musical per bambini, un quartetto d’archi ed anche diverse composizioni di musica da camera e pezzi educativi. Divenuto celebre nella scena internazionale aggiudicandosi il primo premio al Concorso Internazionale di Composizione della Claniret Association (Atlanta, USA - 1995) con il suo “Quatuor pour clarinette”. Nel 2012 fu due volte finalista nel Concorso di Composizione ITEA con le composizioni: “Five open-ended pieces” e “Chapters of Life”. Maestro Pütz è stato insignito nel giugno 2017 del riconoscimento “Plaquette d’Honneur” dalla UGDA (Union Grand-Duc Adolphe, Luxembourg) per il suo contributo alla musica bandistica internazionale. Nell’ottobre 2017 ha invece ritirato il prestigioso BUMA - International Brass Award (NL) come riconoscimento per le sue composizioni, in particolare per orchestre di fiati. 68 dei suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati da Bronsheim Music (NL), De Haske/Hal Leonard (NL), Maecenas Music (UK), Edition Tonger (DE), H.Lemoine (FR), e Sempre Più Editions (FR). Dal 2015 le sue composizioni per orchestra sinfonica sono pubblicate dalla Edizione svizzera Kunzelman. È un membro fondatore del Quartetto di Sassofoni del Lussemburgo (1982-2006). Dal 1981 al 2006 ha suonato il sassofono nell’Orchestra Filarmonica di Lussemburgo.

Marco Pütz was born in Luxembourg in 1958. He studied music (saxophone, chamber music, harmony, counterpoint, conducting) in Luxembourg-City, Brussels and Liège. Since 1987 he composed more than 80 works, especially for wind instruments and for Symphonic Wind Band, but also one musical for children, a string quartet and several compositions for Symphonic/Chamber Orchestra as well as a big number of chamber music and educational pieces. International reputation came in 1995 when he was awarded the first prize at the International Clarinet Association Composition Contest (Atlanta, USA) with his Quatuor pour clarinets. In 2012 he was a twice finalist in the ITEA-Composition Contest with his compositions (Five open-ended pieces and Chapters of Life/ Tuba Concerto). In June 2017 the “Plaquette d’Honneur” of the UGDA (Union Grand-Duc Adolphe, Luxembourg) was awarded to him for his international achievements in wind band music. In October 2017, Marco received the prestigious “BUMA International Brass Award” (NL) as an acknowledgment for his compositions, especially for wind/fanfare orchestra. 68 of his works are published by Bronsheim Music (NL), De Haske/Hal Leonard (NL), Maecenas Music (UK), Edition Tonger (DE), H.Lemoine (FR) and Sempre Più Editions (FR). Since 2015 his compositions for symphony-orchestra are published by the Swiss EDITION KUNZELMANN. Preis gewann. 2012 war Marco Pütz Finalist im ITEA (International Tuba and Euphonium Association) – Kompositionswettbewerb (Linz) mit gleich zwei Werken (Five open-ended pieces und Chapters of Life/ Tuba Konzert). Marco Pütz ist Professor für Saxophon, Kammermusik und Orchestration am Konservatorium Luxemburg. Er ist Gründungsmitglied des Quatuor de Saxophones de Luxembourg (1982-2006). Von 1981-2006 war er Mitglied als Saxophonist im Philharmonischen Orchester Luxemburg.

Direttore, docente di direzione, consulente musicale, Alex Schillings è nato nel 1957 a Gulpen, nei Paesi Bassi, in una famiglia dove la musica bandistica e classica avevano un importante ruolo nella vita quotidiana. All’età di 8 anni entrò a far parte della banda comunale come trombettista e iniziò a frequentare la scuola musicale di Maastricht. All’età di 15 anni iniziò a studiare al conservatorio di Maastricht tromba e direzione, completando i corsi nel biennio 1979 e 1980. Nel 1983, dopo aver studiato con Rien Rats, si è diplomato nel master di direzione; successivamente ha proseguito gli studi in direzione con Lucas Vis e Anton Kerstjes. Vincitore in diverse competizioni sia nei Paesi Bassi che all’estero, su tutti la Bacchetta d’Argento al Concorso Internazionale di Direttori del Word Music Contest in Kerkrade (1985). Ha diretto per oltre 5 anni un’orchestra semi professionale da camera, che vide la partecipazione di diversi grandi solisti, con un repertorio sinfonico vario. Dal 1995 al 2001 Alex Schillings è stato direttore principale della banda Johan Willem Friso ad Assen (Paesi Bassi). Dal maggio del 2001 al gennaio del 2002 ha ricoperto la carica di direttore principale della Royal Military Band a L’Aia. Spesso invitato a far parte di giurie in concorsi nazionali ed internazionali, M° Schillings ha partecipato, in veste di relatore, a workshops per direttori di bande in diversi paesi: Paesi Bassi, Belgio, Germania, Svizzera, Spagna, Sud Africa, Stati Uniti, Cina, Portogallo, Italia e Austria. Nel 2005 è stato membro della giuria del World Music Contest in Kerkrade. Dal 2004 al 2006 direttore della Brassband Schoonhoven, esibendosi nelle categorie più alte. Dal 2005 al 2011 ha ricoperto il ruolo di direttore principale della Large Royal Windband di Peer (Belgio). Dal 2003 lavora presso Kunstfactor, il centro di consulta della musica per bande dei Paesi Bassi ad Utrecht. Ha organizzato seminari per direttori “Lifelong Learning” e “Lifelong Learning International”. Dal 2004 è insegnate ospite in direzione di bande alle università di Alicante, Barcellona e Tarragona (Spagna). Dal 2011 è direttore ospite della Banda Sinfonica Portuguesa a Porto. Since 2005 till 2011he was principal conductor of the large Royal Wind Band of Peer in Belgium. Since 2003 he works by Kunstfactor, the consult centre of wind band music in The Netherlands in Utrecht. In this role he organized the conductor’s clinics “Lifelong Learning” and “Lifelong Learning International”. Since 2004 he is guest teacher at the University of Alicante, Barcelona, Tarragona in Spain for wind band conducting. Since 2011 he is guest conductor of the Banda Sinfonica Portuguesa in Porto. He performed in the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Salzburger Festspiele. Since 2013 he is principal teacher in Trento/Mezzocorona by ISEB.
