MALORIE ARISUMI I was born and raised in Wailuku, Maui. My passion for art began in Wailuku Elementary. My father was a strong supporter of my love for painting and enrolled me in after school art classes. I was further inspired by art classes at Baldwin High School and did my first oil painting in 1981. I then graduated from Maui Community College and recently was so excited to enroll again at UHMC and attend art classes where I obtained my Academic Subject Certificate in Visual Arts. Bringing happiness to people gives me great joy. It is this interaction with art and people that inspires me to paint and share the colors and mana of our island Maui.
