Global health applied practice experience builds maternal health policies As part of her global health applied practice experience, HPA candidate Tcherna Halpern worked with members of the policy committee with the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). As part of her work, Tcherna analyzed policies for health associations in low and lower-middle income countries (LMICs) and identified areas where the Federation could confer more energy into policy promotion. "I wanted to examine the global burden of disease, which diseases are prioritized and which should have more robust policies surrounding them."
