Adam has been working in healthcare his entire career. His healthcare journey started in undergrad as a pre-physical therapy student at UIC. Adam gained a wide breadth of healthcare experience through volunteering at UI Health, interning at the Chicago Department of Public Health, studying the National Health Service in London, and participating in student healthcare organizations.
I love working in healthcare, thinking and learning about how healthcare is changing and can improve, talking about healthcare, etc. I am a healthcare nerd. Adam continued his studies in the UIC PT program and started his career as a clinician in Chicagoland hospitals. His residency and fellowship training concentrated on orthopedic physical therapy. Upon completion of his fellowship training at UIC, he had his first opportunity to teach in the UIC DPT program.
Teaching was the highlight of my fellowship, and it inspired me to take on bigger teaching roles as my career progressed. After building a strong clinical skill set and gaining clinical leadership experience, Adam realized that improving patient outcomes is possible on a small scale, which led to his interest in improving patient outcomes on a larger scale. He pivoted his career into quality and safety to grow as a healthcare leader and impact patient outcomes through a system or population. He came back to UI Health to lead quality and safety projects and had success with several system-wide initiatives and was given the opportunity to teach quality and safety in the UIC MHA program.

Connect with Us My passion for teaching, healthcare leadership, and UIC (I have been a student, employee, or faculty member at UIC for ~15 years) all eventually led to my current role as UIC MHA Program Director. Adam is excited to work and learn with our students, faculty and staff. He looks forward to building stronger relationships and improve the program, train strong healthcare leaders, and grow our presence as an excellent program.
