HPA Mission/Vision Statements Envisioning HPA mission/values as an addendum to the school wide SPH mission and values and that this work will become more of a strategic action plan focused on actions/outcomes and the ways we’ll achieve those outcomes. HPA Mission: The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health division of Health Policy and Administration provides and conducts high-quality education, public health practice and research that addresses equity, efficiency, evaluation and implementation to improve population health through health policy and the health care system. SPH Mission: New as of January 22, 2019 The UIC School of Public Health is dedicated to excellence in protecting and improving the health and well-being of the people of metropolitan Chicago, the State of Illinois, the nation, and throughout the world. VCHA Mission: Does not have a mission statement at present, but per the communications director, they are in the process of coordinating. The following is what VCHA is currently working from to develop their statement. The Hospital & Clinics mission statement: As the hospital for the state of Illinois, and in collaboration with our UIC academic partners, the mission of the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics is to advance health care to improve health outcomes of our patients and communities, promote health equity, and develop future generations of health care leaders. The identity statement for the entire University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health): The University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) provides comprehensive care, education, and research to train health care leaders and foster healthy communities in Illinois and beyond. A part of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), UI Health is a clinical enterprise that includes a 465-bed tertiary care hospital, 21 outpatient clinics, and 11 federally qualified Mile Square Health Center locations. With campuses in Chicago, Peoria, Quad Cities, Rockford, Springfield, and Urbana, the health system includes the academic and research activities of the seven UIC health science colleges: Applied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy;

PRIORITIES/GOALS/OBJECTIVE(S) • Student learning/teaching:
PURPOSE: Maintain and elevate HPA’s high-quality education experience from experiential, academic, and professional advancement to accreditation standards and best practices of our peers. o Curriculum Goal: To align programming with requirements of accreditation and core CEPH/SPH and program specific competencies, with best practices that will help ensure students’ professional success, and integrate our faculty’s areas of excellence in research and practice.
MS/PhD OBJECTIVE(S) 1. Review, revise and finalize program specific competencies and curriculum (requirements and electives) for HPA PhD concentration. 2. Develop program specific competencies and revise curriculum for PHI MS/PhD concentration. 3. Consider/assess development of new non-thesis MS programs in partnership with Pearson. 4. Review, revise and finalize program specific competencies and curriculum (requirements and electives) for MS CTS concentrations including joint degree. 5. Ensure revised curricula are developed into an academic program change proposals/articulation agreements and approved.
MPH OBJECTIVE(S) 1. Finalize changes to HPA concentration (PHPM) curriculum and competencies to meet new CEPH accreditation standards. Revise PHI concentration curriculum and competencies to meet new CEPH accreditation standards and to meet market standards (industry/academic) for the entire PHI portfolio.
