NIS Students Discover UIC's Academic Offerings at Yonsei
On November 2, 2023, Underwood International College (UIC) held a special information session for students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) in Kazakhstan on November 2nd, 2023. As a network of highly competitive schools, the NIS are located throughout Kazakhstan to educate students are admitted based on the results of competitive selection examinations.
Recognizing the importance of a high-quality education, approximately 200 NIS students visited Underwood International College for an information session and a campus tour. NIS students were greeted by UIC Student Ambassadors (SAM), including UIC students from Kazakhstan, at Daewoo Hall for the orientation. The NIS students received UIC tote bags and information about the college before participating in the information session.
The NIS students were welcomed by Dean Helen Lee and given an in-depth introduction to Yonsei and UIC by the admission officers, before receiving special lectures from UIC professors Jin-Young Kim (Life Science and Biotechnology), Jae Hun Shin (Bio-Convergence), and Woosun Jang (Energy and Environmental Science and Engineering). Overall, the information session introduced the NIS students to the benefits of studying at UIC as well as outlining the specific admissions process. After the orientation concluded, the NIS students were given a campus tour by the UIC student ambassadors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sinchon campus.
